I highly recommend Brown's Diesel. Every mechanic and staff members who works there are incredibly nice and respectful. I was on a family trip to Yosemite when my water pump, serpentine belt, and coolant broke while pulling my trailer. It was a disaster. I started calling around for the nearest mechanic and everyone was busy. Brown's Diesel was the only one that said they will help me out and to take a look at my vehicle. I had my truck towed there and I noticed that they stopped working on a vehicle in the shop and pulled mine right in. They totally stopped what they were doing to help me out!! What's even more impressive is that a couple of mechanics took a 30 min lunch break so they can fix my truck. Goose was the mechanic that helped me and he explained everything to me and what he was going to do to my truck. I was literally there for two hours and I was back on the road. I'm thankful and truly blessed that I found this company. Their prices were reasonable too. I wish they were around my area because I would use them all the time. I had an issue with my transmission, I drove 3 hours to have Reb look at it. He knew right away what the issue was. Reb Is extremly knowledgeable on these Dodge 48RFE transmissions, especially if you have a built Gerorand transmission. Reb, Goose and his staff were top notchto work with. Took my 2002 gmc hd2500 in for injectors it was there for three weeks when i went to pick it up there were some problems , air conditioning line had a split in it , had a oil leak , and cruise control did not work . Talked to Eric about the problems but was told by him I had an old truck , well this truck is really clean , Eric told me I had to pay for the air conditioning line even though he admitted they bend the line backwards to work on truck . paid for the line and they installed it and recharged the air , as for the oil leak they had my truck for another week from a valve cover leak they did. after a total of 6 weeks in there shop got my truck and will never go back . Be careful taking vehicles here. not professional at all never know if a kid is working on your vehicle or the actual mechanic. read more

I have been taking my 2007 Dodge diesel here since it was new. I have found Erick and Reb to be totally honest and very capable. These guys know everything about these trucks...Dodge, Chevy, Ford it doesn't matter what year. All you have to do is tell them what you want your truck to do and they can do it. You want a sled puller?.....no problem.. A drag truck?..no worries. You want bullet-proof upgrades to extend the life of your truck?...they can do that too. I really like how I never feel pressured to buy anything or upgrade. These guys really listen to you and give you all of your options. They charged around 1300 for a lift pump in my 01 Cummins, then quoted me for another 1250 for the front wheel bearings. Wheel bearings are a simple fix, definitely over priced. They know what they're doing, and if they think you don't know your stuff they'll try to screw you. My truck ran worse after I picked it up than it did when I dropped it off. read more

I could give these guys a 10-star, I would. Travelling from Sacramento to Vegas for the races and had a crazy driveline vibration from a bad support bearing, couldn't go faster than 55mph. Made a call from hwy-99 approaching fresno, and they had the part delivered, waiting and did the work, had me back on the road in the time it took me to eat lunch. GREAT WORK and customer service. They say you get what you pay for? Well here is a pic of my paid receipt for $9,000, this receipt is only from the FIRST time I took my low mile 12 valve cummins in. The "built" tranny & other stuff they've done on the truck has leaked HALF A DOZEN times in last couple months alone. Since day 1 the new tranny they built is ALWAYS lugging the engine in to low rpms as if it's in too high of a gear. it even stalls out during traffic which is not only VERY dangerous to me but to other drivers as well especially considering the fact she's fully loaded w fairly heavy gooseneck trailers more times then not. As funny as it might sound I felt safer with the original tranny while it was slipping! I'd rather a tranny slip then put me in situations where I lose all power steering & brakes. Instead of owning up to mistakes/or trying to fix the issue on such a simple yet pricey tranny I've noticed like clock work each time they would try playing the blame game instead, or sometimes they would just resort to blaming the age of the truck pointing out how old my truck is over n over? How is that appropriate? that's not only borderline disrespectful but what's that even have to do with anything? I paid YOU guys good money for a brand NEW tranny didn't I? Check my IG I own multiple new mega cabs, however like alot of other 12v owners I prefer 12 valves for simplicity & smog exemption. Went in again last week for yet another tranny leak they flat out denied that there tranny was even leaking this time, tried convincing me it was engine oil (tranny oil is bright red not dark black like engine oil if I remember correctly). Then instead of making it right, again they INCORRECTLY tried shifting blame to wiring & had me throw MORE money down the drain (per usual) which still didn't fix the lugging/stalling.(shocker) The brand new injectors they installed leaked... they tried saying the brand new injectors were damaged...I cleaned/reinstalled those same "damaged" injectors the same day they've been bone dry since. I figured I'd cut my losses picked up my truck, icing on the cake was arriving to 2 dead batteries, someone from shop had left my interior lights on killing both my batteries, gee thanks guys! The list of unprofessionalism goes on n on n on n on where are these 5 star reviews coming from what gives? one review on here even says they charged 130$ for repairs that included 2 hours labor & even a full steam clean? how is that even possible & why did they charge me well over 100$ an hour for over dozen hours of labor (no discounts or free steam cleans for me) if anything charged me almost $700 just to wire my pillar guages lol! Hmmm. This is getting longer then I had intended but I am very disappointed, I make an effort to make sure my company treats every customer with respect let alone one that just dropped $1X,XXX dollars on a "old truck". Well You'd imagine a well known diesel shop wouldn't struggle this much with such a simple "old" truck right? If anyone knows any new shops in 209 that actually stands behind there work I am all ears & have plenty more rigs that need work/upgrades, & now also this truck that still needs sorting. @browns diesel not to be rude but you should be happy I even left 2 stars! Update: Initially I left 2 stars because mr.brown seemed cordial at the least, but if he wants to not only start lying but also paint me out to be the dishonest one, in interest of holding us both accountable anyone is more then welcome to msg me for fleet one card with literally $1,000 in diesel weve burnt dropping/picking up my truck, multiple aaa tows, time stamped videos of the multiple tranny leaks & tappet cover leaks & with there new tranny still starting in random gears with the "pcm they fixed" last week. I assure you the extra parts/money they had me throw at it AGAIN did nothing tranny still giving same exact issues & truck still starts in random gears, lugs...then dies. These guys are pros and had my LB7 Duramax back on the road after two days of tracking down the electrical issue. After having my truck at another Diesel shop(Diesel Doctor) for more then six months with no results, I moved my truck from Tulare, to Brown's Diesel in Riverdale on a Friday, by Monday the mechanics were on it and in no time I received a call that my truck was ready. Awesome! In the beginning I was having a crank; no start issue P0370. I had it towed to Diesel Doctor in Tulare back in January, checked on it weekly and seen minimal work being done, weeks went by and the dust was getting thicker and thicker, either they didn't spend the time working on it or maybe they didn't have qualified mechanics for my particular issue IDK but I felt diesel doctor could have just said "hey we don't know how to fix this". So after six months all I got was two big door dings on both driver and passenger doors that are the same height as the tool carts and a filthy truck. Either way I finally had the time to move it out of that shop and towed it the 50 miles to Riverdale, I was nervous especially when you drive way out there and get into town, there isn't much but when you show up in front of the shop, all the bays are full, all makes to, Chevy-Dodge-Ford it doesn't matter and there are mechanics everywhere. I'm greeted at the counter and told they'll get there Duramax guys right on it ASAP. Long story short, they re wire my crank sensor to ECM and problem solved, my DMAX lives again, they even gave me some Brown's Diesel window stickers, a nice hat and two shirts for the Miss and myself. Once I recover from the repair bill, I'll be going back for the EFI Live tuning. read more

I chose this place because even though on yelp it doesn't have a lot of reviews, they are all 5 star. My instincts (or maybe yelp) were right. Took my husband's truck here and was expecting to have to replace the injectors on it. I know nothing about trucks, but they said they're diagnosis was that they needed to take a look at the harness and valve cover. So I told them whatever they had to do, and they quoted me a price. The next day they had it fixed and ready to go for much cheaper than quoted price, they ended up not having to replace parts they had initially assumed. I lost an injector in my 2006 cummins and a few friends recommended Brown's. I was towed there in the dark of night and left my truck for them. I was on a short timeframe and Erik came through for me, getting all new flux 2 tips and Bosch injectors. AMAZING!!! We were moving my son from WA to AZ and lost turbo on our F350 at 7am just outside of Fresno. We found an open shop near us who sent us to Brown's. I took my '04 F 450 to Browns Diesel because it was not running correctly. The infamous 6.0 woes. They were very prompt in diagnosing the issue and finished the job 1 day ahead of schedule, I felt they were very honest and even showed me the test results as the truck was running. I had them build and install a new motor and after 8 days it caught fire and burnt the entire truck. There insurance investigated and found Browns to be at fault. Browns refused to refund my $12,275.. I am not satisfied with them at all. read more
