I'm not quite sure what happened to this bakery, but whatever it is, it is very disappointing. Their prices have shyrocketed, yet their quality has gone down. I used to love their crumb cake, but now it's awful. First off, the crumb is too loaded with cinnamon- that's all you taste. The cake is not traditional crumb cake, it' just basic yellow cake. All of their Danish and scones are drenched in powdered sugar glaze...it's just too much sweetness and at $3,75 each, not worth the price. They could really take a lesson here from Crossroads Bakery in Doylestown, whose pastry are fantastic! The donuts are so small they fit into the center of the palm of your hand and $2.75 each! Do they realize that is $33.00 a dozen???? Yum Yum Donuts are $18 a dozen and twice the size. Honestly, Brown's has gone downhill fast. read more

A lovely little bakery ~ very clean and so nicely decorated with beautiful cupcakes, crumb cakes, bagels, donuts. As soon as we entered the store we received a friendly greeting and after a quick once over of the desserts, opted for the cupcakes, cheese Danish and Boston cream donut. The cupcakes were very good with an excellent ratio of icing to cake. The icing was a rich buttercream, the chocolate cake was dense and really hit the spot. I tasted a kid's birthday party cake and had to know from where it came because it was so delicious. A real standout compared to other birthday cakes. Turns out it was Brown's. I then ordered doughnuts and cookies for pick up and while there was a snafu with them not having received my order, they still honored it. This spot came up on my Instagram and I've been meaning to try them out for months. I took a drive and arrived at 12:30. I was very disappointed to find they had sold out of bagels and doughnuts by this time. They're open til 4pm so I would think they would have made more. But anyway I got a few different treats plus a latte. The latte was strong and good, baked goods I'll give a 4/5 overall. The chocolate caramel cupcake was out of this world. Dense, moist cake with a rich cream cheese frosting. Pumpkin cheesecake bars also fantastic with such a delicious crust. Cheese danish was average. I'll go back to Brown's but I'll have to get there early so I can really see what these doughnuts are all about. Also, customer service was great. read more

Reached out to Brown's Doughnuts to make a Groom's cake for an upcoming rehearsal dinner. And they did not disappoint at all! Asked for a beautiful but simple semi-naked cake, and they delivered. It was half chocolate and vanilla with the most luscious smooth icing. The cake was beautiful and Kevin was able to add a plaque to the top that we needed. They did everything we asked, and it was so delicious and I would highly recommend them for any occasion. Whether it's a cake, donut, sticky bun, or a fresh cuppa coffee, this is the place to go. Some say it is better to look good than to taste good. For those few, Brown's Bakery in Dublin, PA, is for you. A small shop with one community table, two deuces, and a tiny display case, there were beautiful pastries, donuts and cakes to see, but their tastiness was very much hit or miss. I was excited to finally visit, and although I was there shortly after noon, there was still ample choices available. I selected a half dozen donuts (old fashioned sour cream, glazed), coffeecake mini, brownie and sugar/cinnamon stick. The ten pieces came to $10 and change. Not unreasonable. I was 30 minutes from home, and I drove expectantly delaying gratification until I could brew fresh coffee and relax over my sweet score. Upon opening the taped box I beheld the beauties until deciding which to eat first. The sour cream cake donut with the cracks coated in glaze came first. I bent and broke it in half to better fit into my mouth. First bite was nice as the flavor of the icing and texture of the cake unveiled. Immediately thereafter I noticed that the foundational base was not completely fresh, but somewhat dry and becoming stale. Too, the flavor of the glaze was not what I anticipated, but a strange tone of sweetness unlike anything I had tasted. It wasn't bad, but it was less enjoyable than traditional dip. The same was true of the standard glaze siblings. Not completely at their peak, and the same weird flavor. On the other hand, both the brownie and coffeecake were very good. The chocolate moist, rich semisweet and nicely chewy. The coffeecake chunky brown sugar, cinnamon and powdered sugar on top of a small rectangular pound cake base. Liked them alot. What to make of this mixed box? Hard to timestamp a pastry or donut. But, it is necessary to inquire about the age of their wares in order to avoid the suboptimal components. I have never done that, still if aging products are for sale it is necessary to be alert to this and do your due diligence. read more

If you really need a donut and don't know where to go try Entenmans donuts you can buy reasonably and with a much better taste at most supermarkets. We took a trip to this place filled with excitement for some fresh doughnuts and coffee. The place looks lovely, really pretty shared tables, small cases of delicious looking pastries. Sadly we were disappointed. We bought three doughnuts and a coffee cake pastry - all were flavorless and unfinished. And the coffee was weak. I have heard that some of the other baked goods are good but for now I don't think we would make the trip. read more

I will forever support small business! I absolutely love this place. To start their doughnuts are soooooo delicious!!! I'm a bagel girl for sure and no one and I mean NO ONE has been able to top their everything bagels. I also love their iced mocha latte and my husband just gets a iced vanilla coffee and he really likes it. We also had their cheesecake and danishes, highly recommend if you're a pastry person! I really do not know how this place got 5 star. We went here twice. The first time was on a Saturday. Donuts were ordinary nothing special but not bad. The second was time was this last Thursday 2/28/19. I bought 4 Apple Hand Pie ($12.)and 6 Donuts ($6.). The Apple hand pies were very dry ( it could be state) I would admit the pies looks great from the display BUT the crust was very dry and the filling was bland. The donuts were STALE. Ordered a cake online for a birthday a few days ahead of time. It was really easy with pickup available the next day. The cake, raspberry filling, decorations and custom writing were all amazing. I was looking for somewhere to get gender reveal donuts, rather than the traditional gender reveal cake and someone recommended Brown's to me. I must say I was very happy with everything! I communicated with them via Facebook first and they assured me they could take care of me. I went into the store and placed my order with Katy, who was very sweet. Yesssss! A new bakery in town. The doughnuts are those scratch-made old-fashioned donuts that are hard to find any more. The jelly donuts have high quality strawberry jelly. All the donuts I saw were yeast donuts. I prefer crispy cake donuts and would love to see them add that. The blueberry muffin could have been baked a bit more. The butter cookies were nice and crispy and so buttery. The cheesecake has a nice graham cracker crust, They also have tables so you can eat there. I'll definitely be back. read more
