    Chocolate cinnamon crumb cake

Staff are friendly. Pretty substantial offering Bagel sandwich was solid but about average The chocolate cinnamon crumb cake was ok. Will try the normal crumb cake next time Cheese danish was great. Looking forward to coming back and trying more things

A lovely little bakery ~ very clean and so nicely decorated with beautiful cupcakes, crumb cakes, bagels, donuts. As soon as we entered the store we received a friendly greeting and after a quick once over of the desserts, opted for the cupcakes, cheese Danish and Boston cream donut. The cupcakes were very good with an excellent ratio of icing to cake. The icing was a rich buttercream, the chocolate cake was dense and really hit the spot. The cheese Danish was exceptional ~ nicely glazed, plenty of cheese filling which was perfect.

Brown's Doughnuts & Pastry is a delightful little spot! I came in while my fiancee was getting his hair cut next door. What we ordered: Doughnuts and Hot Chocolate Price: ~$4. (Pro tip: free doughnut if you get your hair cut next door at the barber ) Ambiance: Quaint, clean, cute, and new Workers were super friendly! Would recommend!!

Simple but elegant with a few blue roses, exactly what we ordered!

Reached out to Brown's Doughnuts to make a Groom's cake for an upcoming rehearsal dinner. And they did not disappoint at all! Asked for a beautiful but simple semi-naked cake, and they delivered. It was half chocolate and vanilla with the most luscious smooth icing. The cake was beautiful and Kevin was able to add a plaque to the top that we needed. They did everything we asked, and it was so delicious and I would highly recommend them for any occasion. Whether it's a cake, donut, sticky bun, or a fresh cuppa coffee, this is the place to go. So happy with our decision. The cake was perfect and we enjoyed working with Kevin and Katy so much. I wish I could give them more stars, they deserve it! Thank you for making the ending to our rehearsal dinner a huge sweet success.

Some say it is better to look good than to taste good. For those few, Brown's Bakery in Dublin, PA, is for you. A small shop with one community table, two deuces, and a tiny display case, there were beautiful pastries, donuts and cakes to see, but their tastiness was very much hit or miss. I was excited to finally visit, and although I was there shortly after noon, there was still ample choices available. I selected a half dozen donuts (old fashioned sour cream, glazed), coffeecake mini, brownie and sugar/cinnamon stick. The ten pieces came to $10 and change. Not unreasonable. I was 30 minutes from home, and I drove expectantly delaying gratification until I could brew fresh coffee and relax over my sweet score. Upon opening the taped box I beheld the beauties until deciding which to eat first. The sour cream cake donut with the cracks coated in glaze came first. I bent and broke it in half to better fit into my mouth. First bite was nice as the flavor of the icing and texture of the cake unveiled. Immediately thereafter I noticed that the foundational base was not completely fresh, but somewhat dry and becoming stale. Too, the flavor of the glaze was not what I anticipated, but a strange tone of sweetness unlike anything I had tasted. It wasn't bad, but it was less enjoyable than traditional dip. The same was true of the standard glaze siblings. Not completely at their peak, and the same weird flavor. On the other hand, both the brownie and coffeecake were very good. The chocolate moist, rich semisweet and nicely chewy. The coffeecake chunky brown sugar, cinnamon and powdered sugar on top of a small rectangular pound cake base. Liked them alot. What to make of this mixed box? Hard to timestamp a pastry or donut. But, it is necessary to inquire about the age of their wares in order to avoid the suboptimal components. I have never done that, still if aging products are for sale it is necessary to be alert to this and do your due diligence.

top left: choc / bottom left vanilla glazed / right: 2 honey dipped

Always our first stop is Browns for fresh hot donuts. We split the donuts and as always and nothing but perfection. They melt in your mouth. Never disappointed.

Super good top and moist cake under

With a full bar of spinners and dining area the waitstaff works together and before long your food is before you. Our plates looked appealing enough and the portions were generous. My eggs and bacon were basic with no surprises and his pancakes looked fluffy and light. While his eggs were perfectly cooked to order, the sausage was undercooked and still pink inside. The full dining room kept the staff busy and unable to check back in time for the issue to be remedied but we did end up swapping it out for bacon after our meal was finished. There is always room for bacon The place is dated and could use some sprucing up, pricing is slightly on the high end for basic breakfast and no specials that include coffee/tea - that coupled with the undercooked meat. Cross Keys earns three and a half stars with room for improvement.

The staff members are always friendly and that includes the owner who is always visible. I have no complaints at all except for the preparation of food and drinks and pricing. My goodness I used to come to this place pre pandemic and would brag about the stuff I got and how good it was. Now not so much. I'm paying double for drinks and food that don't taste the same. I always get a frozen artic mocha with a splash of raspberry. I got one this past Sat and it taste like icy milk water with raspberry. The quiche used to be phenomenal but it's taken a step back. The staff are so friendly and even with it being busy (it's the best in town), they are efficient and so polite. There is abundant seating indoors or out on the patio. Parking is on the side of the house or behind. If you have a pet (or kids) that you want to have hang out while you get food, there is plenty of room on the patio. I personally love the iced latte with raw milk and the steak sandwich (or salad!) for lunch while I study. There is good lighting wherever you sit to read or chat with friends and the restroom is handicap accessible and gender neutral. But SHHHHHH! Don't tell everyone this place is here, I don't want to give my secrets away.
