There is a circular ordering area with a few high top seats and adjacent tables as you enter, with additional seating in the back. Interiors are a bit utilitarian and spartan for my tastes as I prefer a space that is more warm and welcoming. The exterior mural on the side of the building did give the place a bit more character. Many of the drinks only come in one 12 ounce size, so might not be the place if you prefer larger drinks. The mocha latte I ordered was a bit bitter and not excessively sweet, but otherwise strong. Service was a bit on the slow side, but they were experiencing a bit of a morning rush, so I won't hold it against them. While it's not a place I'd venture out of my way to visit again, Backyard Beans Coffee Company seems to be a solid coffee spot for locals and offer an ample menu of food items for those seeking something to eat.

I found it awkward and weird that she kept doing that, and was not even apologetic. Twice might be a mistake but three or four times felt intentional. Very odd.. Another waitress began serving me and she was much more friendly. I ordered a waffle with fruit, and eggs Benedict. They were both good. You can't really mess up a waffle though. I had downloaded the app and knew you could order ahead - this is such a great option, but I did order in person the first time! I like ordering ahead because you get alerts about when it's going be ready plus it makes it very easy to customize. Their entire menu is online including specials. I also like that they have "happy hour" and it's $1 off. I literally love their coffee and honestly would get it everyday if I lived close.
