I have never once had a bad experience with browns. I have been attending Browns for several years now and absolutely love it! It feels like my second home! The staff is so welcoming and caring. They really push you to be a better gymnast! I have been in rec classes for a while, so I can speak from experience. The coaches are usually pretty young, but I've found that we can relate more. I decided to try out for team. The tryouts were very forgiving I've found. They don't expect as much if you as the team girls since you don't have much especially from rec. I thankfully made team. They were super fast with the response as I received it that night. My team experience so far has been great. I am currently in Xcel silver and the coaches are great. I could not ask for a better experience! I don't know what all the fuss is about the coaches being rude! They care and want you to be better! Everybody could use some tough love! Tldr: I think there are better options in the Valley. I brought my young daughter here to try out a gym that has competitive teams as well as rec classes. I was not at all impressed with the level or coaching of the regular class for 4-year-olds. The pre-team class was definitely much better, and Coach Mario seems solid. (My daughter loved his sense of humor!) Reasons for 3 stars: The lobby and waiting areas are dirty. I mentioned this to the front desk staff, and I was told that the areas are cleaned every night. If that's true, it must be a very superficial clean. I saw dust and little bits of food along the baseboards and windowsills, particularly in the upstairs viewing area. Other gyms are much cleaner, so I don't think this can be excused as inevitable with a busy gym. I felt like I needed a shower every time I came home from here. No real AC in the big gym or upstairs. (Little kid rooms have AC.) Little to no weekly feedback or contact with the instructors. Front desk staff is not particularly friendly and seem to be often on a cell phone. No friendly/community feeling; I don't think they knew who I was even after going for a few months. (In contrast to other gyms I have tried since, where the owners immediately recognized me as a new face and introduced themselves!) read more

First of all, I want to start this review off with the utmost praise and respect for Ms. Jill, the instructor who usually leads the tots class. I've always enjoyed bringing my son to the classes and love that he enjoys class so much! I have what one would call, "a wild child." He's all boy, all the time!! Generally he loves playing with other children, but there had been an incident with one particular child that really put a bad taste in my mouth. This mother tried to discipline my child verbally and physically went to reach for him when the children were all running around for bubble time. She not only didn't accept responsibility for the fact that her child has shown aggression towards my child... (by the way, they're two!!!!) The other mother labeled my child, "aggressive," even after my son went to go give her child a hug. Now, not for nothing, but I am a self-proclaimed helicopter mama. Where ever my son is, I am.. so it's not like I let him run wild and I do correct him age appropriately. I never truly felt the issue was solved, as this woman was completely out of line and refused to talk to me like a grown woman. Sam is a young kid that can't make any decision. Do it's pointless to ask any questions. Coaches are young kids teaching my kids while in there cell phones. Bathrooms are always a mess or it's out of order. To top it off no AC or fans in the gym for kids. My kids complain how it smells. Plus there uncomfortable while trying to learn with no AC. Lol I found this place on Yelp since I just moved out here and I was trying to find a place my daughter could be active. My beautiful BLACK child was not giving any help or assistance. Shit, she was trying to figure out what to do and who to follow. I was a bit confused on why the teachers were around my age (late 20s) just on their phones looking like wtf should I do - not even trying to introduce themselves or nothing. All I seen was my daughter looking around lost AF. We're from the Bay Area and we're adapting to these Nevada folks and their stares when they see people of color but baby this shit here was so noticeable and it's honestly sad. I'm sitting here with 7 mins left before this class is over. I can't wait to hug my baby and ask her her thoughts. Watching her through this glass for the last hour has been hard. Teach your kids to be kind and that it's ok to be friends with kids of a different race. Hell, y'all copy everything else we do - shake a hand and make a friend. We won't bite. Be wary of a place that has staff write positive reviews to increase their appeal and offset my opinion. Note that reviews written around the time I wrote this are by front desk and staff that have kids in the program. After three years of bringing my girls to Brown's, it is time for us to move on. We were drawn to this gym by the great reputation they have, and where I would have once given 5 stars it has dropped significantly. For reference my kids are under the age of 7. Class sizes are too large and not adequately staffed with coaches that can maintain order. There is no feedback given to parents on kids abilities even when you seek feedback. Until recently, assessments are not fair or consistent for all the pre-competition kids. I can't speak to the competition levels, but I will assume there are some similarities. Where it may be quick to think I speak for my own, I am not. I have seen kids with a higher performance ability than my own not move up in levels and mine did. My amateur eye can identify the difference. This goes back to fairness in assessment and when one person is in charge of the children's team and they have limited sight to all the classes, it will feel stagnant in growth. Lastly, the lack of professionalism demonstrated by a coach has included speaking poorly of other coaches; expressing concern for their ability to coach. Lack of constructive feedback and a defensive response to concerns. This gym may have a continued ability to produce collegiate athletes and that is great. In my opinion, that is simply a numbers game. They have a large team. If what you seek is competitive gymnastics for your kids, do your research and interview thoroughly. There ARE coaches that are passionate and enthusiastic about what they do and it will reflect in how they teach your kids, that has not been my experience with Brown's read more

I stumbled upon these reviews by accident and now just can't help myself . . . Our daughter has been going to Brown's since 2013 and we couldn't be happier! She began gymnastics at the age of 4 at a different gym and eventually moved up to their competitive team. As another reviewer also noted, we saw the Brown's team girls consistently winning at gymnastics meets across many of the competitive levels. This fact wasn't lost on us. Something really hit home when, during our last year at the old gym, the lone graduating Senior was given a "going away party" (which her parents paid to cater), while several Brown's Seniors were awarded College Scholarships! We did a trial at Brown's shortly after and she was accepted into their team program. Things haven't always been perfect though. We were a little concerned one year when she was kept back and repeated a level. That probably wouldn't have happened at our old gym, but we decided to ride it out and trust that the coaches knew best. That second year, she went on to become the State Champion on Bars, Floor, Vault and All-Around! Thanks to the coaches at Brown's, our daughter is strong, both physically and mentally. The coaching is tough and the environment is challenging. But she is so proud that she can do things that most girls only dream of. We have a quote from a poem by Erin Hanson on our wall at home that really sums up gymnastics and Brown's Gymnastics in particular: "What if I Fall? Oh, but my Darling, What if you Fly?" read more

I wish it were possible to give 0 stars.. the gymnastics instruction itself is decent and the beginner level - young kids just getting into it. It's super packed every time I have been there. Unfortunately a couple staff members are unorganized and can be rude- and more unfortunately one of them handled my registration and sign up. I asked them to sign me up for April. I explained we only wanted to sign up (and be billed for) April because we have soccer and other sports in May. Browns automatically signed me up for recurring months and billed me. When I brought it to their attention and let them know their mistake, they regurgitated the cancellation policy over and over and have not yet refunded me. I am paying for service I didn't ask for and don't want. $70 won't break me but I would pay double to deal with professionals instead. Not to mention I have had about 4 birthday parties there so that's about $1000 they've received to help hang up a decoration or 2 and let us run around the gym for an hour. It was worth it to me until I realized their business policy. It's the unfortunate truth sub par customer service is so prevalent. If I were to treat my customers this way, ignoring facts and what is actually happening, simply refer back to policy and keep people's money I would be out of business. Browns won't get another penny from me and I would think twice about giving them yours- if you do, do you due-dilligence and double check your bank statements! read more

Took my daughter here for a tumbling class directed towards cheer stunts. The class was taught by a UNLV cheerleader and was excellent! Taught her how to do all her tricks properly and safely. I rate this place as zero stars, I was invited to a free class for my child and then when I showed up with my family was told sorry you can't come in and asked to leave because they had a special training going on today. I was not offered a sincere apology for the mix up and not asked to reschedule her class. When I asked how I can get a hold of the owner to complain I was given a business card to call the main number. Both of my children loved this place. My daughter has been going here for years. She loved it so much she chose to have her 6th birthday party here. The issue is not the teachers, but the finance department. We unenrolled the children on dec. 30th and made payment for January. We were moving feb 1st and were too busy to keep up. It's now the end of June and we get a collection call that we did not pay feb payment. Rather than call us, they choose to ruin someone's credit over $125!! Called the office and no one was there who could make a decision, nor could confirm or deny that we did or did not withdraw in December. How do you run a business and not have a decision maker within a phone call? When you send a loyal customer to collections, and ruin thier credit, one would hope a phone call would be made to avoid such terrible consequences. read more

This had to be the best birthday party my daughter could have ever asked for. It was such a good price and the gym was amazing. The gymnasts were welcoming, generous, polite, and over all helpful on every level. This was hands down the best best birthday for the best price you will find vs all the other places that will range from $300 to $500 for 6 to 12 kids, with only an hour or hour and a half party. I only paid $230 for 20 kids and parents can join in this amazing gym, for 2 hours for the whole party. We spent 1 hour and 15 min in the gym and 45 min on food, cake, and presents. I highly recommend this for any child's birthday party for any age. I will most definitely be returning with my daughter and others again. read more

We went to this gymnastics location for almost 4 years and boy the only regret is that I didn't leave earlier...They make you feel that you should be happy they are teaching your daughter ...not that they are happy to have your daughters as a student in their gym... they do not communicate well with you and when they do they don't deliver on what they say they will. When my daughter was in level 1 there were two meets that canceled on the schedule and we never got refunded for any of them. They show extreme favoritism to other parents and students.. I hope any of the parents that are still in that gym reading this post please have enough courage to leave...One more thing all the reviews about the front desk are true...very rude . I love my daughter so much and want to support her but dealing with this kind of business and staff is just wrong. If you're thinking about this gym for your kids don't do it. read more

My daughter loves this place. Amazing Coaches, great activities such as parents night out and also Camps during school breaks. Its a huge facility.
