Maybe I just had a bad esthetician or caught her on a bad day but my experience was very in and out. Not personalized at all and felt like just another dollar to her. My skin was very irritated and remained so for a few days which has never happened to me before. I just feel she should have taken more time and done proper before and after care. read more

This place is the most unprofessional place I have ever went to. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded since I was 16, I'm 27 now and I have never encountered such rude treatment from anyone. I went in for an eyebrow threading and the lady commented on my skin and said "you have really flaky skin.." yes, I have naturally dry skin it's something I've had my entire life.. she proceeded to say, "can we do waxing?" And I said no I prefer to do threading. She then has the audacity to say "okay well then I'm not going to do it because I don't want it to fly on my face.." I was so shocked at not only this lady of unprofessionalism but also wondering who she thought she was... she began threading my eyebrows and was like "ok it doesn't" and then started telling me to use a scrub. 1) I didn't come to you for skin advice 2) I've dealt with my skin condition for a long time and I don't need a rude worker to tell me otherwise my skin is dry. 3) never using my services here again. I'm personally very very embarrassed that this place has someone working there like that. I've only went to one other eyebrow place before this and never threatened to not do my eyebrows. If you want to get your eyebrows done without critical judgements about your face- don't go here. I also overheard then other worker telling her coustomer to use powder. When I gave my money and thought the horror was over she was complaining infront of other coustomers that she wanted to go home. ... I am just so shocked and know better than to ever take my services here ever again... they just lost a customer and I hope everyone reads this realizes it to. read more

I called to ask if they did eyebrow tinting and was told yes. So here I am thinking YES I don't have to drive to the city anymore. I live in Addison and this is really close to me so I thought I would try it out. Let me tell you how I just wasted $20. I have eyebrows so it's not like I was asking for a miracle. But I have a few little areas that I like tinted so it looks fuller. I have had tinting done for many yrs so I am aware of how the end results should look. $20 later I walked out looking exactly the same as I did when I walked in. As if nothing was done to my eyebrows. Sure I could have said something while I was there but for what? For them to redo the tinting and still have the same results. Extremely disappointed, I could have done a better job myself with some beard dye. read more

Three words: Go to Lana! This was my first experience at Brows and Beyond for my second ever Brazilian wax. My appointment was at 11:45, I arrived at 11:42 and was finished by 11:59! YES! Finally a eyebrow threading place close to home. I was usually driving 15 - 20 minutes to Bloomingdale to get mine done so the convenience of this place is great. Lana did an amazing job on my eyebrows. Dare I say better than my old place? Anyone who wants to try a new place but is nervous DONT BE ! She goes a little slower so the pain is a little more noticeable but worth it because she takes her time creating the perfect shape. I paid 7$ for threading which is only a dollar more than my old place. I'm sold. read more

I was here for the first time earlier today, reason I didn't give 5 stars was bc the girl that did my eyebrows was very rude. I went in at 6:30 and she seemed upset since they close at 7, she even said she had shut down her cc terminal. I've never written a poor yelp review before but this is an exception cause it's a safety issue. I've been getting eyelash extensions for a while at a place in oakbrook but I switched to this place cause it's so much closer to home. Something is wrong with the glue they use here for eyelash extensions. It doesn't dry properly. It forms a super thin (almost microscopic) string when improperly applied. And if not properly dried it will hang into your eye and cause a lot of discomfort and redness. This happened to me the first time I got my eyelashes done here. As soon as I left the salon, I felt a foreign body sensation in my eye. I thought an eyelash got loose and got in my eye. When I got home, I was in so much pain and it took a magnifying mirror and 15 mins of fishing for the source before I found the glue string and dislodged it. I gave the salon the benefit of the doubt and let the owner Lana know when I went there next. But after today's experience, I'll stay away. They need to either change the glue they use or take the time to dry it properly and use better eyelash application technique. Also, their eyelash extensions fall out faster than others I've had. Their's only last a week then you'll need mascara before the next filling. I wrote this so that no one else has to go through what I went through. I feel bad giving them a poor review because the eyebrow technicians Nina and Shana are nice and are good at eyebrow threading but as far as eyelash extensions here are concerned....... It's YOUR EYES! Please be CAREFUL!!! read more

I've been coming here for the past couple months. Every other Tuesday so I had only been to the same girl I think her name is Shona? She's great! Then one week I wasn't able to make it to my regular Tuesday and had to go on a Thursday (I'm only saying the days because now you'll know what day to avoid!) I had a different lady this time. She did my eyebrows and asked me to look at them when they were done. I was shocked, she destroyed my left eyebrow. It was half the thickness of my right one and there were bald spots. Then she offered to fix it but there was no way I was letting her have another go at my good eyebrow! I freaked out paid and left. This was about a month and a half ago and I'm STILL trying to grow my eyebrow back. So, AVOID THURSDAYS!!! It was the lady who's chair is the first one to the left as soon as you walk in. read more

I have had my bikini done by Lana for years. I am so happy she has her own place now. It is beautiful and clean. She is by far the best at waxing. Her bikinis are lightening fast and about as painless as can be. The salon itself is spotless and her work ethic is professional and she has such a pleasant personality. I am super paranoid about cleanliness in salons and I know I don't have to worry about that with Lana and her salon. She is super sanitary. It is a very relaxing atmosphere and I will continue to go where ever she may be, also she is an artist with brows. You can't go wrong!!! read more

So far I am very happy with their work. I only tried one of the girls. I do eyebrows myself, but sometimes I like to just go and get them done. And I am happy I found this place because they really do a nice job and they change wax sticks after each use (that's a big thing for me) . One thing maybe they have to be careful is not getting wax on clients hair.....:) read more

I've tried a variety of threading places, driven many different locations due to the fact there aren't many options In the suburbs. To my surprise, This place is really close to my house! I barely found out about this place. They are very good, they did not over thread which is HUGE. They actually corrected the mistakes of the last place I went to. They left spots for me to grow back & 3 weeks later, my eyebrows are flawless again! I recommend this place to anyone. It's $8 for eyebrows which is very reasonable. Wait time can be a little long depending on how many people in front of you so go with time. Very clean inside setting as well. read more

I have been here several times before and had a decent experience- for some reason, there are not too many eyebrow places in the Elmhurst area. I like that Brows & Beyond does threading, as this seems to last longer than waxing. Today I had my brows threaded and tinted (girl NOT Lana). I walked out with jet black eyebrows and a dab of black eyebrow tint on the side of my head hair where she had apparently spilled some. I have blonde hair so needless to say the spotted black was not a good look :-) When I noticed it and called back to express my concerns, the lady said she was closing and told me to wash it. Luckily I found a salon in Elmhurst who used a lightener to gently lighten up my brows and fix the random black spot on my hair- it took about 45 mins. I know stuff happens, but wish the response was a little bit more than "I am closing up". Won't be back- but on the bright side, so glad I found Deja Vu Salon in Elmhurst- super helpful and friendly. read more
