I originally purchased a Living Social deal (or one of those) to see Shauna. On the positive side, and as described by other raters, she gives a nice eyebrow wax. I have had many an eyebrow wax, and I did appreciate the consistency I found with Shauna. As other yelpers stated, however, I also felt it was a little generic to use the stencils EVERY single time I saw her - and for the charge of $30 (!) for an eyebrow wax, I would expect that she could do it sans stencil like everyone else I've ever been to... Anyhow, I digress. I had two negative issues with Shauna. FIrst of all, on my first visit, she shared the details of her Brow Club with me, which is basically that after 6 visits at $30/visit, you "earn" the privilege to come see her for $20, but only if you come every 6 weeks (if you come 7 weeks after your last wax, it's full price). While $30 every 6 weeks is a little pricey, and I have NEVER paid that price anywhere in Denver (or anywhere else), I was in the market for a reliable waxer, so I was interested. She shared that she would sell me a gift certificate for a discounted price of $60 for 3 waxes, which would bring me up to a total of 4 visits, then after I purchased one more at the full price, I could belong to the Brow Club. I agreed. She told me I did not need to bring the gift certificate in for each of the next 3 waxes, and that she would keep track. On my 4th visit, which would have been the last of the three visits I prepaid for with the gift certificate, Shauna told me that "according to her records," I had used my last discounted wax previously, and that this one would be full price. When I disagreed with this, she looked in her records and said that she had not actually recorded all the details of my last visit, but still insisted I pay $30 for this visit (which technically was already paid for with the gift certificate). Even after I recounted the approximate dates of each of my 3 previous visits, thereby proving that this one should be free, she still disagreed. I ended up paying the full $30, and did not return. Issue #2 - In addition to her poor customer service and ripping me off, I found Shauna very uncomfortable to be around. She was very unfriendly and didn't attempt to build a professional relationship with me. Laying down and having someone next to your face, waxing your brows, and staring at you up close and personal has the potential to be awkward as is - especially when they don't bother to ease the discomfort with any talking or niceties. All in all, I felt very judged every time I saw her. If she had made the effort to build a relationship with me, I may have considered overlooking her poor bookkeeping skills and the fact that she ripped me off, but no thanks. Sorry for the novel - I'm hoping Shauna herself reads this and might learn something about customer service and professional courtesy. read more

Shauna is indeed very meticulous about her brow sculpting. I've had my brows done at a few different places in Colorado and I do think she did a wonderful job, HOWEVER...since to me eyebrow waxing is more of a luxury item and not necessarily a NEED for my budget, I could have used some more cheer and appreciation for me even trying somewhere new, coupon or not. I walked in where three women were just hanging out to be greeted with "Hi are you here for your brows? Yea and you have a coupon?" Kind of like I was bothering everyone...I don't like a TON of small talk but I could have used a little more friendly-ness with the whole ordeal. I didn't really get much conversation at all until the end when she was trying to sell me on joining her "Brow Club" which is the only way you can get her waxes for $20 instead of $30. Did Shauna do a great job at the service she provides, yes. Was she friendly and inviting about the whole ordeal, not really, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. read more

I went there after purchasing a Living Social deal, and I guess I got the $13 treatment I paid for. I didn't realize she was located inside another company and drove around confused and in circles for about 15 min calling before she finally answered the phone. When I went inside she greeted me, then said that "they'll have to be a quick one, we only have 5 min"...Well maybe we would have had more time if someone had been answering your phones!! She did an alright job on my eyebrows, but I still felt like the whole appointment was really inconvenient for her. I would never go back again and pay full price. Good brows. I purchased a living social. I mistakenly went to Brow's but they sent me the right direction. Shauna was nice and got the job done, did a good job on my eyebrows and taught me a lot. I will be returning in 3 weeks to see how the 2nd visit goes. I agree with the comments about her being not overly welcoming and friendly but I'm not looking for a BFF. I bought a Groupon for Shauna's brow service to use just before my birthday. Lucky for me bc she only does 10 Groupons a week! I was braced for an abrasive experience based on other reviews but I found Shauna to be easy to talk to... we even had a little laugh. I also found her location inside of Guiltless Glow easily (thanks to the appointment reminder email). My brows look amazing! I have naturally thick brows & I love that she cleaned them up without giving me someone else's, too-skinny brows. She didn't even try to hard sell me on her Brow Club. Go to Shauna. I recommend Brows by Shauna to all my friends because it's the only place I can go and receive consistent, beautiful brows. The method she uses is great because there's no room for error. On my wedding day this summer I loved how my eyebrows looked! I've been going to Shauna for over 8 months now and I don't plan on going anywhere else. Every time I walk out of there I love how my eyebrows look. Coming from someone who has had her eyebrows butchered at various salons, I am VERY cautious about who I go to. I LOVE that she doesn't go wax crazy and leave me with a thin pencil line of an eyebrow, which has happened in the past with other people :( Now I have a great shape to my eyebrows which I maintain every 4-6 weeks through Shauna's Brow Club (only $20 bucks each time!!!). I would'nt recommend Brows by Shauna to anybody...I went to her expecting some pretty decent results considering she charges $30 per treatment . What I got was snobby and uppity attitude by everyone except for one girl that greeted me when I walked in. You pretty much have no say in how your eyebrows will look, she definitely does'nt ask how you would like them.My eyebrows were way too thick and they also had no arch or shape whatsoever. My aunt asked if she could watch and was rudely told no she does'nt like people hovering over her! I was really shocked nobody was hovering my aunt was standing way back. Bottomline: she did not butcher my eyebrows but she did not do anything worth $30 they came out ok. Honestly even if she did them spectacular I would not go back because the customer service is horrible! Oh well on to the next. read more

It was painless and will be easy for me to maintain till I come back for the next appt. Full shaped eyebrows are beautiful not my old sharpie looking ones . I have been going to Shauna for about 6 years, and I trust her to make my brows look great every time! I have had some horrific brow waxing experiences in the past where my brows have ended up much too thin, but Shauna always makes them look beautiful and full with a great shape. She's also fun to talk to and has a great sense of humor, so I don't ever get bored during appointments! The only thing that could make my appointments better would be if she lived closer to me (I live in Boulder), but hey I like going to Denver, and it's an excuse to run some errands there after my appointment if I need to. I was always in search for someone who can make my eyebrows look perfect and this is how I found Shauna two years ago. She is amazing. My eyebrows look beautiful. I have been using Shauna for two years with consistently great work. I have never had a bad experience which is why I keep going back. I disagree with some customers who say using a stencil shows lack of talent- I think it's a brilliant idea because you are guaranteed the perfect shape. First of all I have had my brows waxed before, However this was the worst experience that I have ever had. After the waxing I felt alot of pain, which I thought, "hmm that's different". I didn't think too much of it until I got in the car and looked in my mirror. To my horror the area underneath my brows was reddened, puffy and already blistering.
