Prior to purchasing my current home, I hired Broy and Sons to check the well pump and to test the water quality. Six months later, I have no water. My dogs have no water. My three horses have no water. Horses can colic and die if they don't have access to water. I pulled out my paperwork from those inspections wherein they stated that the pump was in good working order, but then I discovered that the water test was conducted from the kitchen sink. The house is on a whole house water filtration system, so that's something I believe I should be reimbursed for. God knows what my horses are drinking. They weren't able to send anyone today, so I contacted another emergency repair service who showed me the disaster of wires at the well head (submersible pump), and stated that it should've been noted and addressed. Now, I get to pay through the nose for a last-minute pump replacement TOMORROW with no water on the premises. I DO NOT recommend this company since they seem to lack any form of conscientiousness. read more

Great prices. However...... There isnt enough help for demand. Online ordering is never correct. Wait times are long. You often have to load it yourself. Manager seems great and tries hard. Broy and Son in Berryville provides outstanding service and I would highly recommend them. I bought an historic house where they had installed a well pump for the prior owners. One night I came home from work and had no water. In a panic, I found their contact info in the sellers old files and called them. It was after hours but they walked me through some troubleshooting ideas and then they actually called back later that night at 9:30 to see if anything was working. It turned out an old water softener system (which they had not installed) had seized up. So they walked me through turning the bypass on and flipping the circuit breakers back on, and voila, we had water again. They were so nice on the phone and walked us through next steps. Company came recommended by our septic inspector. When I called to schedule a well inspection I was told "No, you want a water test." Never having owned a well and thinking I could trust the professionals, I said OK. When I called at 4:20pm to reschedule the test I was told "I can't reschedule that for you now because we are closing up shop." The lady on the phone (Mary) then hung up on me. The site says they close at 4:30pm. When the water test was done, the woman who collected the water was very professional and courteous. However, she said we would need a well inspection. I was beyond peeved at being told by Mary that I didn't need a well inspection despite me asking for one! The lack of professionalism and the rudeness of Mary on the phone lead me to cancel the inspection with them altogether and go with a different well service in the area. After some research, I learned that this company had an employee die in a workplace accident and was slammed with OSHA fines back in 2017! I will never contact them again. read more

Total professionals, except for the woman that answers the phone. She so incredibly rude, I often pass on using them when I can't quite get through a conversation with her. I guess they don't realize there are other plumbers in the area, then maybe they don't mind passing up business. An institution in Clarke County. Mr. Broy and his workers have rescued more homeowners in this area than you can imagine. There is absolutely no one else to call if you have a well or water problem. Wow - Great service beginning with Mrs. Broy who took our call on an icy, snowy day and ending with a new well pump installed within a day after my call! I learned more from the three 15 minutes interactions with the Broy team than I have from any of the several other vendors who came through here and took advantage of us. Called Brad Broy on a Thursday afternoon as Ritter Well Drilling informed me they would be finished by midmorning the next day (Friday). Broy had a crew at my house by 08:15 Friday morning laying out pipe, wiring the pump, and doing other prep work. Soon as the drill rig was gone they were installing the pitless adaptor. By noon pump was installed, hole was backfilled, and they were gone. I did not have to go through the weekend without water. Broy and Son came out after lightning struck our water pump. I will say that they were on time and friendly. Until we received the bill, they over charged us by 2 hours on labor (called it travel time), Mr. Broy the owner was there for a total of 1/2 hour and charged us a 1 1/2 hours, then the pump they charged us 100% mark up. They put a Sta-Rite pump in and the most expensive pump I located on their web sight was $459.00, they charged us $900 for the pump. We questioned the price and were told they only mark up 25%, who ever is doing the marking up may want to take a math class. I am all about paying for service and I understand labor and parts but a mark up of 100% is more than extreme, that is blatant taking advantage of customers. Maybe others don't look at the bill and pay it, or think well insurance will cover it, but we for one will investigate and feel we were done wrong. When we called Mr. Broy and questioned the bill his response "someone has to pay for it", we gave his workers 4 bottles of water, which they asked for, he said well you should have charged them for it. Without reservation, we highly recommend Broy and Son Pump Service for anyone in need of well pump service. Last week we called them very early one morning, with a major well pump problem. Although we are more than 25 miles from their office, they were at our house in just over an hour, with two work trucks and a crew of three. They quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem (a failed check valve on our very tired, 25+ year old system), and immediately provided a reasonable solution. In less than two hours they pulled the old pump; connected, installed and tested a new one; updated all the associated hardware; rewired the inside electrical panel; thoroughly tested the whole system; and completely cleaned up the area. Their hard-working crew was totally professional, technically first-rate, very friendly and clearly concerned with providing exceptional service. What more could we possibly ask?
