Amazing Service!! We were having pressure issues with our well, Immediately they were able to schedule us for the very next day. They came out during the crazy huge snow storm we got (2/17/2026) which I honestly thought they would reschedule. It has been decades since I needed work on my well. In March, I had a broken pipe that fed my irrigation stations. They sent two competent technicians out and had it fixed in a hurry and this was all done while I was out of town. Very trustworthy. So I needed more work done on my pressure tanks. I needed new pressure tanks and a new well pump plus some maintenance on the well. I talked to Frank Kurnik, who is extremely professional knowledgeable and very confident in their ability to make things right. The first person I worked with was Morgan, who was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about pressure tanks and how to read the well. I was at work and he was extremely polite to my wife. He made the assessment and got the job done. Jalen worked so hard to remove and replace the pump. He was there with Jose and Alexis. They all worked clean and safe. The pump refused to come out of the well easy. But he got it done! After the well pump was replaced, Ashton came to the site and reworked the piping that fed my irrigation stations. All of this took less than two days to accomplish. I had no hardships, and I felt very fortunate to be in the hands of such competent individuals. The value of the work was in line and probably in some instances better than most people doing this type of work in Reno as I had researched them all. While we were the dumdums who didn't check the control box, Bruce's tech was great and helpful. We had no water and assumed our pump went out. We called two places. Well pump died. Our usual company was not available so they referred us to Bruce MacKay Pump. Tech Joe Gildone called for info. Came out the very next morning nice and early. Diagnosed and made repairs quickly. Water back up and running. A few days later pressure tank blew out of the ground. Joe was not available but took my call on a Sunday. This experience is hard to rate. If I could, I'd say it's a solid 3.5, but since we can't do half stars, these situations force us to decide to round up or down. In this case, I have to round down because of the service I didn't receive after the sale. Fast forward to the bottom to read that part. My well pump died last week and I couldn't be out of water through the weekend, so I called Bruce Mackay. Kersten explained the labor rates and had me speak to Frank to confirm a visit from a tech would be necessary. Notes on Rates: Bruce Mackay goes into overtime (1.5x normal rates) at 3PM on Friday. Rates are not posted on their site, so verify if there's an overtime period on other weekdays. They also charge travel time to and from their offices AT the same labor rates. Seems the industry charges 4% if you want to use a credit card, so be prepared. Five stars go to James, Field Technician, for his prompt and professional service. He arrived within minutes of the call (at 2:30), determined it was the pump that had died and got us connected to our neighbors house in an hour. As part of his testing he placed a new control box on the system to verify it wasn't the issue, and left it there. I received estimates from the office to replace the pump ($2,400 - $2,700 for standard or Variable Speed Drive $4,400 - $4,700), which came in an email from Frank K with no detail on what parts they'd be using, how long the work would take, warranty on the work etc. which I expect from service professionals. These numbers seemed reasonable, but I always do my homework and got another bid from Fundin for comparison. It was over $1,000 less, and that doesn't factor in the level of service I received before and after the sale there. As soon as I'd scheduled the work, I immediately emailed Frank to let him know, and told him I'm happy to pay for the service call and that I'd be bringing the control box back this week. In a follow up email he asked if I minded sharing how far apart the bids came in, and I was happy to do it. As expected, I received an invoice from Bruce Mackay on Tuesday (7/3) listing the control box and 1.25 hours of labor at the OVERTIME RATE. I assumed this was a simple communication issue between the emails I'd sent to Frank and billing, and a quick call would straighten it out. The resolution I sought was to pay for .5 hour of time at standard labor rate (since the tech got there at 2:30) and .5 hour at the overtime rate, and be allowed to bring back the equipment that I couldn't and wouldn't be able to use. While we eventually got there, it was not without a "spirited" discussion with Frank, which should not have been necessary given the circumstances. Bottomline, it felt like an attempt to squeeze me for what I'd give because I chose to go with the more affordable and transparent option. Reinforcing this feeling, I received an updated invoice this morning (7/5) showing .5 hours at $145/hour and .5 hours at $157/hour. Then on 7/6 I received a hand written invoice showing what the original did with the additional of a statement saying the control box could be refunded at 50%, which was never mentioned previously. Seems the communication in the office is still a bit disconnected, but Frank did reply to correct it as we'd agreed on the phone and Kersten was super personable! read more

We initially called to ask for information regarding the process involved to raise the well water pressure. After several minutes of conversation we realized it was something we'd needed an expert to oversee and scheduled an appointment. Though we're a rural location William stated there was no problem and would set it for the following business day. However we were called the day prior to inform us they had a time open if we would like to have their technicians out sooner to which we quickly agreed. Otto and Victor arrived exactly at the planned time (a rarity these days with too many businesses unfortunately). They explained the process and upon my agreement made short work of the problem, explaining as they worked. Watching as they set up their truck/equipment it was apparent this is a professional outfit with safety procedures being checked and clear communication throughout to that end. When they were done the pressure was indeed increased and a report was given insofar as the potential well depth as well as the approximate service age/life of the well pump. Too, the area they'd been at was such that one would never realize anyone or anything had been there. We highly recommend them-they are now our only number for our well upkeep. read more

They sent out two guys to perform the work and they said they didn't have the parts to perform the work and that they would need to reschedule At that time they provided a quote of around 1,200 for the work. We then rescheduled for a future time but then the work ended up costing over 5k. Not sure how the original quote could be so different from the final quote. The worst part is that I received a bill after I had paid the 5k for the labor from the two guys that came out but couldn't do anything since they didn't have the parts. I've been reaching out to them for the last month with a phone call and e-mails with no response. read more

Not sure what has happened to this business. Had been pretty good for me the couple of times I used them, but my neighbor is having such a horrible experience I'm not sure I'll use them again. She's a single fixed income senior. Needs new line trenched to her house from the well. Now that a temp above ground line is in place, she was told it will be 4 MONTHS before someone will be out to finish her job. She has also asked for a simple estimate of what her bill is likely to be so she can decide if she wants to replace her pump while this is going on. I was told, we have no water, the tank read 0 psi. Now what, well I did remember Bruce MacKay was on my to call list for any pump or well services. I got a prompt response the next day after explaining what might be the issue, they were great at giving me pointers on what possibilities could be done to remedy the solution. After running around resetting breakers etc. The fast turnaround for a appointment was very welcome. The technician that came out was John, great and very knowledgeable guy. The issue was diagnosed fairly quickly but we ran up against a problem, John's regular vehicle with everything needed was in the shop, luckily the spare vehicle he brought out had enough supplies to complete the temporary fix. Woohoo, I now have water. Now all I have to do is schedule an electrician to make the corrected repairs needed. These guys start charging as soon as they leave the shop, so you will be charged for travel time, this was explained when I made the appointment, so no surprise there. Would I use these guys again, hell yes, because they do everything to help you out to diagnose the problem beforehand so as to avoid charging you, now tell me how many companies will do that for you! read more

The water line from the pump in the lake sheared off at a coupling, resulting in no water to the house. Called them around 9 am. They came out that afternoon and made a temporary fix. The temporary fix failed the next morning, but McKay had already scheduled a different crew to come out that morning to make permanent repairs. read more
