When I opened the door, both technicians looked at me up and down and asked first if it was an apartment and told me they couldn't work here, to which I asked "why tho?" And the sir replied "because you have to let property management know, who's gonna pay?" as if thinking we weren't paying? I mean that's exactly why we called you, because WE WANTED TO PAY TO FIX OUR PROBLEM. Then after telling them that we of course were paying (hello?), before even assessing the clog, payment was demanded, and they didn't start until payment was confirmed. The other guy wouldn't even acknowledge me or respond to me when I made him a direct question. I'm not calling it racism, but it very well felt like I was being racially profiled. Yes, they fixed the problem and I'm very thankful for that, but the experience was very awkward. If you guys tell me that's your MO with ALL your clients and you ask for the payment first before even starting, I'll consider editing rating and review. read more

Our home warranty sent a plumber out, who I'll review separately, to diagnose and fix a basement bathroom that stopped drawing. They said it was a mainline issue and we would have to find someone else. Based on Yelp reviews we called the Plumbing Doctor and had an appointment the next day. As it turns out the basement doesn't go to the mainline but goes through an ejector tank & pump up to the mainline. It took Dave about 3 minutes to diagnose the problem as a failed pump. He basically cleared the schedule the next day, had the pump replaced and we're back in business. Communicated through the whole process. Even though dealing with sewage in our basement the job was done spotlessly with a very thorough clean up. Pricing seems very reasonable though we didn't shop around. I'll give this locally owned small business a call every time and just skip my home warranty in the future. Much less headache for a reasonable price. read more

Mark was in and out with another technician, replacing an exterior water spigot effortlessly that was leaking everywhere. I bought the replacement spigot parts at Home Depot, and he did the labor. He educated me on a tankless water heater to replace my old 50 gallon water heater while explaining the benefits of going tankless. I also have the option of purchasing a water filtration system too. I'm probably moving forward on both systems in the next few months, and will rely on his services for parts and installation. I've included some before and after photos of the outside water spigot. I left my details with (I think) an answering service, and I got a call back from Mark in TWO MINUTES to schedule an appointment for 2p-4p same day. I'm pretty sure he's the owner. The one good thing I can say is that the company is responsive. We were having problems with our hot water. I was getting luke warm water throughout the house and the burner was not kicking on. I called several plumbers and he was the only one that could fit me in that day. 45 minutes later I have the owner at my door. That is decent service. When he arrived. I explained that we were having a bathroom remodeled and in the middle of the remodel we lost our hot hot water. The guy came in our house looked at the remodel work. Went back out to the garage and said you need a new hot water heater. He did not even look at the water heater. The house is 19 years old so we were more than lucky the original lasted that long. He wrote the contract up. $2400 for the installation of a new heater. I am told now this is average. The guy tells me that a guy will be out shortly to change the heater. He starts to drain my old one. As it starts to drain the guy realizes that water is coming back into the tank from the system and gets weird. He figures out at this point that the rough shower valve that was installed in our bathroom remodel doesn't have a mixer in it so the hot and cold are mixing unregulated in the rough valve. He figures it out, but does not tell me the problem. He Quickly stops draining the tank. Says something about the other guy will have to shut the water at the street leaves some materials for the other guy and bails. He knows at this point that I do not need a heater. He does not tell me that and leaves. I don't figure out the problem until the other guy installs the new heater and we still have the problem. We install the mixer and the problem goes away. If my other tank was not 19 years old. I would sue the pants of this guy. He is a crook. read more

T&P valve broke on my water heater. It flooded the pan and caused the pilot light to go out. A different plumbing company told me that my burner was broken and that it would be best to replace the entire hot water heater at a cost of $4,500. I called Reno Plumbing Doctor and explained to Mark Hardy the situation. He didn't agree with the other companies assessment and scheduled service for my house within a couple of hours. The technician, Dave, arrived at my house and diagnosed the problem. It turned out that the only thing needing replacement was the T&P valve. He replaced the valve, drained the water from the pan, and the pilot ignited and stayed on. After another plumbing company didnt show up for a scheduled appointment nor even gave a courtesy call, I gave these guys a call. I had a 30 year old, 6 gallon water heater in one of the bathrooms that was leaking. Obviously corroded, rusted. They came out the next day at my request, though were willing to come out immediately. Dave assessed the situation and proceeded to get the water heater out and cap the lines. Two days later, Dave came out again and hooked the water faucets directly up to the main hot water lines.
