EXCELLENCE, DECENCY AND CONSUMMATE PROFESSIONALISM. This is actually a (revised) repost of a review left months ago that must've not been posted using a new app that apparently doesn't work. But I can do this from memory, as my sentiments haven't changed and have possibly even become stronger over time. I can't say enough how grateful I am to have found Dr. Shannahoff. It started off as a group of treatments that were gifted to me by a dear friend. After the treatment package ended, I stayed on and the initial spinal decompression therapy has now expanded to anti-inflammatory hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy. He should open a food court at the office, because at this point, I'd probably eat there, as well. Joking aside, Dr. Shannahoff is firstly, one of the best human beings I have ever met. And as rare as this happens for me, he and I have become friends and talk about our common interests outside of pain management and health. He's the easiest guy to talk to and is as nice as they come. As far as his treatment goes, I can firmly say that it has opened up physical possibilities that were once limited by extreme pain and limited range of motion. With him, I'm back cycling again, surfing and doing activities that I normally would've avoided because of the painful aftermath associated with them. Additionally, I've been able to get off of my pharmaceutical pain regimen, which brought with it a whole host of other issues. Of course, with the back, it's up and down and I'm my own worst enemy when I push myself too hard and have to crawl into his office to get fixed or stretched back to normal. But I honestly don't know where I'd be without "Dr. B," as I call him. He helps me understand the limits and how to live a fulfilling life within those limits without feeling shortchanged in any way. He's also become an unexpected friend and a life anchor for me when I needed that the most. I guess things happen for a reason. So thank you, Dr. B--you're a true mensch and I bless the day I met you! I suppose if there's a takeaway from this review, then it might be this: Dr. Shannahoff is one of the few doctors who I can say positively shaped the course of my health (as well as mental approach to health) the MOST. He has shown me how wonderful and beneficial a patient-doctor relationship could be and truly gives me something to look forward to on the days I go to see him. It also is one appointment for which I will GLADLY take on the Los Angeles traffic! So, if you want to get serious about resolving your back and flexibility issues, know that Dr. Shannahoff is more than just a chiropractor, he is a HEALER. And if your goal is to reduce inflammation and even (according to the experts) look younger and possibly live longer, then you should also look into hyperbaric oxygen therapy--whether with Dr. Shannahoff or someone else. And BONUS: women who didn't really give me a second look are asking me "what I did" because I look "ten years younger." I just say, "Ancient Chinese secret." (with a totally inappropriate Mandarin accent). No joke. Give Dr. Shannahoff a try, even though you've been to DCs before or think you've exhausted similar avenues. I was scheduled for surgery but with Covid19 I had to postpone since it was a elective procedure. I came to see Dr Bruce for my neck and back pains that where associated with a car accident back on Aug 2017. Hard to put into words my gratitude to Valley Spinal Decompression Center. I walked in with constant cracking and neck pain. I Was having a hard time going about my busy day. I began to research alternative options , as my health provider recommended surgery or epidural shots , which I wanted to avoid at all costs. I came across a few other clinics who offer decompression services at a very costly rate . During my consultation appointment they reviewed my MRI and worked out a decompression treatment plan that literally picked me up and put me back on my feet . This method helped reverse the damage my herniated discs were causing in my neck . After a couple of months of treatment, I am back to my old self and able to function again . Dr. Shannahoff helped me. I have been suffering from back pain and left hip pain for years. To make things worse, I injured my right knee a month ago carrying a heavy box upstairs. Dr. Shannahoff did an upper cervical adjustment (atlas vertebrae) with his hands and since then many of my issues have improved significantly, especially my energy level. Today it's the first time in years I woke up without back pain. I feel more rested now. My knee pain is almost gone and I can climb stairs with ease. When I first went to see Dr. Shannahoff at Valley Spinal Decompression Center I had been suffering with severe neck pain that radiated down my left arm. I had been through weeks of physical therapy without improvement. An MRI showed that I had degenerative disc disease in my neck and the doctors told me I could try epidural spinal injections and that the next step would be to have spinal surgery. Dr. Shannahoff examined me, reviewed my MRI and told me he thought he could help me with his non-surgical machines. I didn't know if he was right, but I decided to take a chance because I could have always done the more dangerous things later if it didn't work. It did work. I have been neck and arm pain free for years. Since then I have sent in two family members with severe low back disc problems and he helped them, too. Dr Shannahoff Is a very caring and patient professional . I was trying to choose a spinal decompression doctor that could help me. When I came in for a consultation I was convinced that he could help me with the pain I had from a herniated disk. It took only a few visits to feel that the pain fading away.I came in on crutches and by the second week I was getting better.
