Definitely my favorite bagels in the TC. They make them just how I like them. They're nice and chewy outside and soft inside. I prefer my bagels to be more lightly done, when they're over cooked they seem to lose a little flavor. This location almost always has them just the way I like them. My favorites are the plain (they have great cream cheese to get cha some flavor), the everything and the cinnamon sugar. The staff are mostly friendly and are always working hard. read more

I had not been to Bruegger's for several years although I was once a regular. Recently I have been buying my bagels at St Paul Bagelry located about 10 blocks south of Bruegger's on Nicollet and 54th; however today St Paul Bagelry was closed and I was out of bagels so I headed up to Bruegger's. I have to say I was disappointed in the bagels. They are softer and more chewy than I remember. More like a soft white bread dough nut. Definitely better than the bagels at Lund's & Byerlys but not in my opinion as good as St Paul Bagelry. They were apparently doing some remodeling as there was no place to sit and eat. There is parking which is more of an issue at St Paul Bagelry and the service was okay but I don't think I will return. Ps My wife who is the main consumer of bagels in our household said she would not eat any more bagels from Bruegger's after trying these so we definitely won't be back. read more

I will give them a good review just based off of the uniqueness of the space, this Breuggers occupies what used to be an old fire station. The originality of the building has been creatively preserved including the fire poles and beautiful brick archways. There is a lot of space at this location and tons of seating, perfect for meetings or working. As for the coffee and bagels, they are pretty reliable. I really like Brueggers over Panera when it comes to bagels, I think they are more chewy which I like. Brueggers breakfast sandwiches are also very solid, especially their Farmhouse or Honey Siracha Sunrise. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Online ordered my food at 9:30, website said pick up would be at 10. I arrived at the store and waited 35 for minutes for my food (two breakfast sandwiches) only to find out they didn't have the correct bagels for the sandwich, which was the main reason I ordered it. Employees rarely wash hands after handling raw eggs, often immediately preparing bagels afterwards. Additionally they have issues with keeping perishable goods refrigerated, and are super loose when jt comes to upholding other health codes. Update: new manager (or lack thereof). Things had gotten better but seem to be way worse again. Today I waited in line 10 min before being helped (only 2 ppl ahead of me). We showed up around 9:45-10 A.M this morning and we left at 10:30. Ordered 2 westerns, 1 sriracha honey, and a bagel with cream cheese. The wait wasn't the issue cause there was about 5-10 people in line. The problem was THE SAUCE! The counter , the stainless steel , the floor behind the counter , it seemed like every surface that was visible to me while ordering and paying was dirty . Usually get my order wrong. First time I came here the bagel was old and dry. Second time I ordered a Leo da veggie, paid for that. They gave be a cream cheese bagel. When I came back to get it fixed, they were really rude and made me wait forever. read more

This particular location is special to me; I went to Armatage school up the street & walked here with my classmates when this Bruegger's first opened. It is my first time back in over 20 years. Argh! These workers are clearly not being trained in customer service. I was one of two people in line and had to ask one of the four people behind the counter to please help me after being ignored for several minutes. They were poking around, drinking pop and not paying attention. Took the person about 10 minutes to make a simple sandwich. About 5 of those minutes were spent looking up the sandwich in some deck of cue cards. Then the rest spent: cutting her gloves when cutting the bagel, talking to other coworkers, dropping ingredients, and having to throw them out and start over. All while seeming completely uninterested, unapologetic, and absolutely ignorant of the fact there was a customer involved. The sandwich was delivered messy and with toppings smeared all over the paper wrapping. What is wrong with you??? Please train your people pay attention to the customers and to act like their time and patronage means something to you. Otherwise, we will go away! You've already lost this one. read more

Super friendly crew. I was greeted multiple times upon arrival,asked several times during my stay if the employees could get me additional coffee etc. The atmosphere is super fun as it's a converted fire station. Lots of outlets for folks looking to plug in and hang out. Also, super clean - they've been through the dining area several times to clean up and that speaks volumes for a high turnover store. Okay, let me preface this with I LOVE Brueggers in general. I would love to eat Brueggers every day if it wouldn't make me huge. But something is seriously wrong with this location. Yes, it's in a cool old firehouse (though they could probably do something much better with the decor). But this Brueggers NEVER has any bagels. I live really close so I've been in at all times of the day. Mornings, when you'd think they'd be set for a heading-to-work commuting crowd? nope. Lunch? nah. Mid-afternoon snack? still no. Evening near-ish closing time, don't even think about it. I have walked in here so many times excited for something specific. Honey grain bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. Everything bagel with veggie. I'll walk up to the counter and see, no joke, 10 total bagels available across all flavors and bins. Then today, 12/4/2014, again excited for a morning bagel, I walk up to the door and notice a sign -- it says the oven is broken so they don't have any bagels but please come in as they do have muffins and coffee. WHAT? I really did laugh out-loud at how ridiculous this was but also at how sadly not-surprised I was that this Brueggers didn't actually have any bagels. The only highlight is that Sunstreet Breads is right across the street which is amazing, delicious, fresh, and has never been totally sold out when I walk in in search of a treat. I still love Brueggers and I haven't ever seen the supply problems I see here constantly anywhere else. Anywhere else I am able to walk in and find full baskets of bagels to choose from (even warm). Unfortunately none of those locations are as close and convenient as this one. So I really hope they get their act together or turn this sweet building into something better. read more

This is consistently one of the busiest Brueggers around. Because it's close, I'm there about twice a month. On weekend mornings there is always a line, sometimes up to 15 minutes. Perhaps due to volume they do seem to struggle with producing bagels fast enough, so sometimes selection is limited. On the other hand, they are really fresh and often still hot from the oven. Employees are usually customer focused, but constantly training new staff sometimes means slow service. Overall good, but not great. read more

I have been eating Bruegger's bagels, since around 1985 or 1986, at the Dinkytown location. LOVE their bagels. Better than any other bagel shops and any store bagels. I LOVE this location. Its convenient for me, and the staff. They are the friendliest. Management to the frontline staff. Always friendly and they remember me. They know what I want, as I do not vary that often. but when I do, its done up just as good. Friendly staff person sold me on the bottomless coffee mug and I've been happy with it and being able to run in and just get coffee if that is all I want. The people help make this location the place to go. At times the bagel choice I want (salt) is not available. its the kind of bagel that I suspect is not going to have alot made up. that is fine. A second choice is always there or I can wait a bit for a fresh batch of salt to come out. I have yet to have a bad experience at this location. Came from the Penn Avenue location and that was not the best. 4554 Nicollet is the best for staff and service. read more
