I haven't physically been to this deli shop but my husband has ordered to-go subs several times and each time, they have come out very delicious! I love getting the roast turkey breast classic sub, it's my favorite. I've tried their white bread and garlic pepper bread and they're both really good, though the garlic pepper bread is my preferred choice of the two. The mayo and toppings have a lot of flavor and make these subs well above many popular sandwich chains. Adding banana peppers and jalapeno gives them a nice kick! Though the original toppings that it comes with are just as perfect. We have ordered several times from this location and most of the time the sandwich tastes delicious, however sometimes they come out a little soggy from all the seasonings or an excess amount of oil. That's the only reason I'm knocking down a star. But overall they are a great place for subs and it's close enough to where I live in the suburbs. read more

A rainy day is a good day to visit a Yelp bookmarked business. It rained today, so I made the drive to Goodcents. I walked in and was greeted before the door swung closed behind me. I glanced over the menu and opted for their Italian signature sandwich with the "standard dress". When I was ready to order I walked to the counter and the 2 employees awkwardly stared and waited until I made the first move. A simple "what can we make for you?" or something of the sort would have made this social interaction less weird. Anyway, I ordered and was impressed with the fact that they really do slice the meat fresh right in front of you upon ordering. I was unimpressed with the portions of 1 of the meats she put on and was really unimpressed with the 3 pieces of small Subway-style triangle cheese they put on my 12" sub. HOWEVER, those negative feelings faded away and I recognized them as poor assumptions after taking a few bites of my sandwich. The first thing you will notice is the bread. This is good bread. I had white bread for my sandwich, it was fresh, soft and chewy throughout. It really is awesome and pretty much made the sandwich. The meats on the Italian had a bit of spice which was a nice surprise. My previous portion concerns are gone due to all of the ingredients blending together perfectly to make one yummy sandwich. I look forward to going back and trying something different. As a seasoned Jimmy John's and Erbert and Gerbert's patron, I can tell you right now there is a noticeable difference in the quality of meats, veggies and especially bread. This was my first time here. Was lured by the $2.99 sub sign on multigrain Bread. These subs are for the signature subs. I ordered takeout mesquite turkey with pickles, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheddar cheese and black olives. My sauce was oil and vinegar per another yelpers suggestion. Also had honey mustard added. I skipped their mayo as it was Krafts not Hellmans which I prefer. Sándwich maker had to ask for me. The Bread was not overly thick and doughy which was ok. The sándwich Kinda reminded me of Mickey's in Brainerd and Nisswa. The reason for 4/5 is it was messy. The tomatoes were also pale and flavorless. Can skip next time. They focus on fresh and for those of you who like variety, they have a Coke Freestyle machine with hundreds of options. They have 3 types of fresh baked cookies that will most likely be the best cookie that you will ever put in your mouth. They are always fresh and soft, full of goodness. They add bacon to any sandwich for a small add-on price (maybe $1 or $2) The bread is super soft not like the hard bread at the other popular national chain. They make every sandwich to order and slice your meat in front of you. I have also used them last year for catering and they were on top of it all the way. I have always been satisfied with this place. This is the first and only one of it's kind in Minnesota. I think the owner told me that they are big in the Tennessee area is where he experienced the greatness and wanted to open one here. So my 8 year old decided we should try this place again...I make him try vegetables he doesn't like repeatedly so how could I say no? Staff was pretty friendly, food wasn't any better than the last time, my 8 year old likes it because "it's something different". For our two sandwiches, chips and soda, it was over $18. Not really impressed by anything here, may have been a fluke as this was my one and only visit, but they don't do anything here you can't do at home. I have seen other posts talking about the freshness which I personally did not experience. The bread is soft but excuse the expression it goes limp making the sandwich a chore to corral so all of the toppings don't just fall right out. While the meat itself is "freshly" cut on the spot everything seemed old and had been reused multiple times for service. The staff was friendly and helpful when going over menu options but the food was nothing I would try again, and I hate to say it but Jimmy Johns and Subway both give you a better sandwich even if they don't "freshly" slice it in front if you. This could just be me since they have multiple great reviews but they gave me no reason to try their product again. When looking for a "different" sandwich place you want them to offer something unique and different, this place does neither of those. Their claim to fame is slicing the meat in front of you in the process of doing that they lost sight of the quality and freshness needed for the rest of the toppings, cheese, lettuce, cucumbers etc. Not to mention the most important part the bread, the vehicle of any sandwich is very small too soft almost soggy and doesn't support any amount of sandwich toppings. read more
