Animal Crossing Veterinary Hospital - My baby that they turned down in pain

I've been coming to this clinic for many, many years and it is my "go to" clinic for my rescue…read moredogs. I am probably in that clinic at LEAST once a month and thats mostly with emergencies due to the nature of rescue. I've had two recent emergency visits within the past month and am very happy with the care they received. I will use other clinics in the area when necessary, but this clinic is what I have found to be the most compassionate, accommodating, and affordable in the area.

My daughters took our family cat to the clinic because he was not feeling well. For context, one daughter is over 21 and the other is 19. During the visit, the veterinarian did not perform what we would consider a proper examination. The only thing checked was our cat's heartbeat before recommending blood work. Our cat became somewhat distressed, which appeared to be largely due to the veterinarian's handling and demeanor. At one point, the veterinarian dropped our cat on the floor and did not apologize or acknowledge what had happened. My daughters were understandably upset and called me during the appointment. After hearing what was going on, I advised them to leave. Despite receiving no meaningful examination, no vital signs, and no treatment, they were charged $105. We were extremely disappointed to pay for a visit that, in our opinion, provided little to no care for our pet. As a veterinary clinic, compassion, professionalism, and proper care should be provided to every animal, regardless of the circumstances. Thankfully, my daughters took our cat to another veterinary clinic, where he received the evaluation and treatment he needed. We will not be returning to Animal Crossing Veterinary Clinic.

I didn't have my head straight when we discovered baby girl had passed and chose the first place for cremation on Google, which was a certain animal hospital that when we got there said we would get her back in a month. After a few days my husband and I decided that that was too long and we found eternal waters online, watched the video of the process and liked that it was more environmentally friendly than traditional cremation. And the fact that my baby girl loved swimming in lakes and beaches seemed like this was meant to be. Thank goodness they offer pickup from the other clinic we had her at. That would've been tough for us to do. Lilia was super sweet and understanding even with my weird request of sending me a photo of Lucy to make sure the right dog was picked up. But thank goodness she suggested me sending her a photo of Lucy so she can confirm during the pickup. That made it a lot less painful. She texted me immediately on pick up that it was 100% my baby girl. Told it would take about a week but it ended up being 2 weeks. It was worth it with all of the extra things we got to keep in her memory. I had asked for an impression of her front 2 paws, one of her feet became deformed as she got older, a single paw print, a nose print, and her different colors of fur in a jar which I was really impressed she got all of the colors because I had just groomed my baby before she passed and her fur was short. I will take my future babies and recommend them to people in the future. She was so kind and understanding during one of our hardest losses. Thank you!

A lot of things happened and a lot to say but most devastating is the fact that our baby (dog) was returned to us with a cats microchip. The cats Mom didn't even know hercat was at this location in Converse since her cat passed in Dallas! This place is a scam with other companies involved. They are unempathetic and uncaring and have refused to answer my questions regarding my babies remains, the cats microchip and everything else all they want to say is do you want a refund or not? and we gave you a refund. The cats mom was offered a drawing to make up for it. Really!!??A refund does not take away the agonizing uncertainty about what happened to our Baby of 18 years that we trusted to them! I am positive all good reviews are fake! They even shutdown their facebook page when I wrote a truthful, bad review. I warn you do not trust this place with your babies! I am happy to share more details with anyone who is interested. Recently heard from some others that used this business and had issues as well. Their truth will come out too.

I understand there is limited staff, and I realize they have to turn their attention to other customers and tasks, but I would have liked to watch our dog more through the back windows before committing to leaving her there for the day. I'm guessing there were between 70 and 100 dogs in the play area, and most seemed well-adjusted and content. However, it seemed a bit much, and I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving our dog there. She loves playing but could not connect with any specific dog and was overwhelmed by the many dogs showing interest in her. We watched for at most 10 minutes, and the whole time, she was looking to hide, running from the other dogs with her tail between her legs. The staff was present, monitoring behavior and cleaning up, so the issue for me is the number of dogs, not the staff. I asked if there was a maximum number of dogs they allowed, and without a yes or no, I was told the number of kennels they had, which was over 250. The kennels can hold more than one dog at a time, so it's feasible that 300 dogs could be there if all the kennels were full. The kennels are in a climate-controlled warehouse-type area with individual chain-link "suites" and the regular areas. The difference is a little more square footage, and a webcam comes with the suite. I'd summarize this place as the big box store of doggy daycares where you'll get everything you need, but not necessarily the best experience for the pet. This review is based on my personal experience. I am not seeking a refund, to be made whole again, or for changes to be made. It is simply informative.
