Jeremy was a great help to me, as he was professional, trustworthy and provided an affordable service. I needed an outlet installed outside. I have a very old house and he completed the job in about an hour or so. Other plumbers and electricians and other services are charging crazy crazy prices and are really taking advantage of people out thier struggling. I didnt feel this way with Bruno and Campisi. Very hit or miss. These guys absorbed Call the Bee, after they absorbed Aqueduct, so it's been a shitshow of consolidation. There are some good, honest, knowledgeable people working here. Then there are some idiots and con artists. Estimates are consistently on the high side (sometimes by 2x). Some work they've done (ie: fixing an oiler leaks) has been shoddy as well, however these are more the exception than the rule. When it comes to the big ticket items they're fine, and I personally have not had a major issue with timeliness (just complain if you get a cancellation, however I would use them as reference point (inspections) and for emergencies. For anything more significant, better off hiring experts instead of generalists. read more

What should have been a straightforward electrical panel replacement turned into an extremely frustrating experience. I was told the project would take about six hours, but I was without power for nearly twelve hours and the work still wasn't completed. Communication was poor throughout the process, with missed appointments, last-minute cancellations, conflicting explanations for delays, and promised calls from management that never happened. Most concerning, the crew damaged my boiler during the electrical work, causing an oil leak and leaving me without hot water. While the company eventually accepted responsibility, the repair process was delayed and poorly communicated. I was also pressured to make payment before the work was completed, despite being told the remaining balance would be collected once the project was finished. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through turned a routine project into a stressful ordeal. Absolutely terrible customer service. I scheduled an appointment and waited at home during the entire appointment window, only for no one to show up. There was no phone call, no text, no email--nothing. I gave the company another chance and rescheduled for the following day. Once again, I rearranged my schedule and waited at home, and once again, nobody showed up. What makes this even more frustrating is that they had no problem sending multiple appointment reminders, yet couldn't be bothered to contact me when they failed to keep the appointment. Two consecutive no-shows without any communication is incredibly disrespectful and completely unacceptable. If they can't manage something as basic as showing up for scheduled appointments or communicating with customers, I would have serious concerns about trusting them with any plumbing work. We were loyal Bruni and Campisi customers for more than 15 years. Recently we needed a new compressor for our first floor HVAC. Bruni had installed one that was at the end of its 15-year useful life, per their technicians. Their estimates ranged as high as 25k to replace the entire system and furnace, although we were not told anything was wrong beyond the compressor. When asked for a quote to replace the compressor only, they came back with $6700 plus labor. They showed up to install it, spent several hours and then walked off the job. They said an expansion valve was needed and they did not have that. They also advised that it was unsafe to turn the system on because it would ruin the compressor. We contacted them for several days in good faith hoping they would finish the job and honor their warranty. No such luck. They wanted us to pay the full cost for the non-functioning compressor plus another $11k for a bigger replacement. Total cost would have been $18k. Their position seemed to be "we gave you what you asked for so pay for it." Whether it was operable seemed irrelevant to them. Only when we declared them in breach, initiated a credit card dispute for our deposit and told them to remove the compressor did they take any action. Finally they issued a refund and took the compressor away. We wasted weeks between the estimate, the failed installation, and their refusal to complete the job. Fortunately we found a provider to do the job for $11k with no drama whatsoever. If this is how Bruni treats loyal customers, it's difficult to imagine that they'll be getting many new ones. This experience was in stark contrast to past dealings with them. Clearly they no longer care about customer satisfaction. read more

As a former Bruni customer, I recently called Bruni & Campisi to do a seasonal checkup of my furnaces and airconditioning unit. There was confusion surrounding that appointment, and the office never called me to say that the technician would not be coming at the time we had arranged. He was a no-show. That lack of communication was different from the Bruni & Campisi I'd always known. The fellow who finally came to the house said I needed a new exterior Airconditioning compressor unit for my system. I put down a very large deposit for that, and also a deposit for an upcoming cleaning of the ducts which this man suggested. The fellows who did the duct cleaning asked for a credit card payment as they left, which I paid. After they left I noticed that they had left some ducts untouched, and that after removing and cleaning the dryer duct, they put it back using inadequate white tape instead of the proper original hardware. It was easy to see that lint and fumes would escape into my home. (Weeks later the tape failed and the duct fell off completely.) I was surprised to see this sub-par work by a company that used to have such a stellar reputation. So I looked on Yelp to see what other customers were experiencing. There I read that Bruni & Campesi had recently been sold to a corporation, and that many other customers also found that the quality of their work was no longer good. Some customers stated they had been overcharged. So I contacted a few other HVAC companies to get quotes on the work I had signed up for with Bruni. To my shock, I learned that Bruni's charge for the duct work was FOUR times more expensive than the other companies' quotes. I called Bruni to request a refund for the poor quality of work they'd done on my duct cleaning, and to cancel the planned install of a new air conditioning compressor, and get a refund of my deposit on that. They did refund the airconditioning deposit, but they refused to refund the deposit and payment on the inadequate duct cleaning. Based on my recent experience, I do NOT recommend "the new" Bruni & Campisi. (And I see that on their website they have not posted any reviews from 2026.) read more

Straw that broke the camel's back ... we clearly had a gas leak and no heat on a very very cold day. They wouldn't even get me someone on the phone to troubleshoot and they installed the HVAC. Called at 5:30 PM and they said they'd send someone first thing the next day. Then it became 8-12 ... then 2-5. Called someone else and they clearly stated we had a gas leak. DO NOT USE BRUNI and CAMPISI! I called Bruni & Campisi to my home earlier this month. A toilet needed a new flapper. i told this to the plumber when he arrived. He said he had to check to see if the repair was more extensive. He told me the cost would be $495 for fixing the flapper or $695 if he had to take the toilet apart. I asked how it could be only about $200 more to take the toilet apart. I told him to get out of my house. He wouldn't go. He insisted on calling the plumbing manager and within minutes the price came down to $136. After he completed the job I asked for the name of his manager. Subsequently I left a message for the manager. He never responded. I have used this company since Spring 1997 and I never experienced anything like this. I will no longer provide them with any futire work. They are not the company they once were. read more

Bruni & Campisi are friendly, polite, respectful of property & knowledgeable, go through step by step what they are going to do. The office staff answered any questions I had & are very professional. The prices are fairly reasonable. This is the second time I've used them. I needed a major repair in the toilet tank & problem was solved. Glen had everything needed in the truck. The first time I used them, I had cast iron pipes replaced. They always clean up & never leave any messes. As I've said in a previous review, I have them on speed dial. read more

I hired them to replace a heating and cooling system. They did that with a bunch of upsells but the system isn't working right. In the night, the temperature drops into the low to mid 60's downstairs. Our house heats left and right. They refused to get permits for months despite my asking for it from the start and dob requires it. They never measured output and came up with possible solutions but not based upon a true diagnostic evaluation and of course, they wanted to charge us more. read more

I was changing my vanity from a single sink to a double so that I called Bruni and Campisi. A nice guy came to give me an estimate. I told him that I did not want to have them install the faucets. He left for a few minutes and returned with an estimate of over $5,000 which included installing the faucets. It also included an inspection; I did not need an inspection! I had the entire job done, including faucet installation, for $1,000! I am quite upset that I had to pay $125 plus tax for such an outrageous estimate!!! read more

We had an emergency plumbing issue when our bathroom pipe froze and our shower and toilet flooded due to back up drainage. They sent over their best plumber, Dave Olivera, and we were beyond grateful!!! Dave was extremely patient, thorough and answered all our concerning questions. He followed through and made sure things were going smoothly afterwards. He educated us with all possible scenarios. We were so happy we got him as our plumber! Natural gas leakage requiring the change of pipes and meter. Gas cut by ConEd in 09/25 ( in a gas heated house). Bruni & Campisi hired immediately. Did the job mid November. Got the license early 12 which enabled the city inspector to come and ask for changes, Gas reset at the end of December as a result of a Coned / Bruni / City meeting. Bruni has no leadership, is incapable to manage a project, to fill a form correctly, to communicate, is expensive...but was reactive in the bidding process. For the time being, after its early 2025 sale by Mr Bruni, we do not recommend such a contractor for whatever kind of job (as the other recent recommendations evidence it also) read more

B&C came to do a minor plumbing job under the kitchen sink. It took the rep all of 30 minutes to fix it. Cost: $450.00 Do yourself favor folks. If you have a plumbing or electrical job that doesn't require a huge amount of work, don't waste time with these guys. Find any number of excellent local contractors who are looking for work and would do an excellent job for a fraction of the cost. I've used a bunch of them. I used B&C this time because I signed up for their Comfort Plan. It was improperly explained to me by a rep at the company that the first service job would be free. Ha Ha. It's all in the language. 'SERVICE' means they will send someone to your house or apartment to ASSESS the problem ($90). Not DO the actual work. It's this kind of BS that makes me crazy. It's manipulative. read more

Don't bother with this company. They way overcharge and the work is incompetently done. Paid $3,042 to replace air conditioner line set. They opened up the ceiling to supposedly fix it and it was an expensive mess as we had to hire a separate contractor to repair the multiple openings they made. This "repair" did not fix the problem and we are still with a nonworking unit. So now they suggested we have to pay them again to come out and diagnose the problem when another company already diagnosed it and said the lines are leaking, We won't ever have anything to do with this company again. On June 11, 2025 I had Bruni & Campisi install a new furnace and outside air conditioner unit. The 2 people that installed the both units were outstanding and the systems are working without any issues. However I recently found out that this work required a permit from the building department in the town that I live in Westchester County, NY. I went to the town building department and confirmed that the work did require a permit but they have no record of a permit being issued or even applied for. I called Bruni & Campisi on 10/29/25 and was told that the permit coordinator was out of the office but I would receive a call back. I called again on 10/30/25, after not receiving a call back, and was now told that I would receive a call back on 11/3/25 regarding this. This is unacceptable. My advice to anyone thinking of having any similar work done by Bruni & Campisi is to find out if it requires a permit before hand and save yourself a lot of run around and problems. read more

Tech came to my house and because I had a small leak coming from my boiler overflow tank. I was verbally quoted 15K due to a whole host of issues. I said thanks but no thank. Then the tech started lowering the prices. Finally, sent me a quote for $1,400.55. At that point I felt that they were taking advantage of me. I googled the problem and fixed it myself for $82.00. It was just the expansion tank that needed replacing. read more

Believe the reviews. Our A/C stopped working and I had them come out the same day to take a look. The technician told us we needed two pounds of refirgerant and a new thermostat. The only thermostat he had was a non-programmable, non-WiFi thermostat. The charge for it was $329 installed, even though I could see that you could buy it for $40 on Amazon. The tech said we really didn't have a choice if we wanted our A/C to work again. The A/C began to work again and he left as quick as he could. Ten minutes later, the system stopped working. I called Bruni and Campisi and was told they couldn't come until after 4pm the next day. You would think they would prioritize a call for something that was their error, but they didn't seem to care. I didn't really have another choice but to agree. In the interim, I noticed that the condenser was tripping my circuit box and that it would go back on when I switched the circuit back, but that would last for only 10 minutes tops (something you'd think the original tech would've noticed). The new tech didn't come until after 8pm the next day. He was really the only bright spot in all of this, as he was able to diagnose that our entire HVAC system was shot and we needed a new condenser and coils. In reality, it had nothing to do with the refrigerant and thermostat that I paid almost $1,000 for a day prior. We were told we'd be contacted by a sales rep to go over our options. The next day, a sales guy came by and showed us our options. Nice enough guy, but at no time was there any offer to credit us the original money we paid due to a misdiagnosis. I received other estimates, which were shown to be much more reasonable and for seemingly better equipment (they suggested Amana equipment while others proposed Carrier). This company is dishonest and money hungry. We called them to get our gas meters checked for leaks. They came to give us an estimate. We signed the contract and paid the first fee and an appointment was made to check the meters. Everything checked out and there were no leaks detected. We were told that a permit must be applied for the town inspector to come and inspect the meters. Inspectors came and everything also checked out fine. They stated that ConEd will be contacted once paperwork was filed with them. Payments were made to B&C throughout the process with no issues. After over a week, we still hadn't heard from ConEd and when we would contact B&C to ask what was going on, they would never have a direct answer or would say they would call back and they never would. Finally we were able to get in contact with Glen Glasser, who worked on our case. Turns out, B&C completely forgot to send in our paperwork. The only way we found out was because ConEd emailed us saying that paperwork was still not submitted. When I asked Glen Glasser what happened, his response was that the case 'slipped their minds' and was 'forgotten'. Funny because they were so quick and fast to take our money but when it came time to finish their job, they didn't really care to and even admitted that they just forgot to submit the paperwork. Then tried to place the blame on ConEd. Don't bother with this place. Once you pay them, you'll never get an answer and your case will be forgotten unless you chase them down yourself. If I could rate them 0 stars I would. They Sent a technician out to give me an estimate to repair my AC and told me once I accept the estimate their "team" will reach out to me to schedule an appointment to come fix it. I called them to follow up THREE TIMES over the course of TWO WEEKS and it wasn't until the third time that the phone operator could schedule anything for me. Phone operator BRENDAN answered the phone the first two times and just told me there was nothing he could do to expedite the scheduling. I have now been through THREE WEEKS WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING THROUGH TWO HEAT WAVES ALL BECAUSE I TRIED TO BE PATIENT WITH THEIR SCHEDULING NONSENSE!!!!! I have now called another company and they are repairing it instead. After about 5 years of giving them my business I will NEVER call Bruni & Campisi ever again!! Their lack of attention or respect towards this frustrating situation is very disappointing to me and is something nobody else should have to deal with. Bruni & Camprisi manufactured an "emergency", and then charged me extra for it. On the evening of Thurs, April 17th, 2025, I had a plumbing issue. I waited until business hours Fri April 18th to call a plumber. At 7:30 am, I spoke with Bruni & Camprisi to schedule a visit. They explained that a "visit fee" of $129 would be charged to give me an estimate, and if I ok'd the work, the fee would be deducted from the work. Shortly after I scheduled the visit, the company called me back and said they were highly booked, but they would be able to schedule a visit after 4 pm. The "after hours" visit fee would increase by $50 but would still be deducted from the work. The window I could expect the plumber would be 4-8 pm. I agreed, and cleared my schedule to wait for the plumber. At 4:30 pm, I received another call from Bruni & Camprisi stating that the plumber would not arrive until 6-8 pm. At 8 pm, he still had not arrived, so I called the company. I called three times between 8 pm and 9:06 pm. Each time I reached a different operator, and I asked when the technician's workday ended, and if he was coming at all. Each time they told me they were reaching out to the field technician and he would get back to me. On the third call, I told them to let the technician know that if I didn't hear from him by 9:30 pm, he should not come. That's when I finally heard from the technician. He said he was leaving the current job and would arrive at 10 pm! The technician arrived at 10:15 pm. He gave me an estimate for $1,192.36 to snake a pipe under my kitchen sink and replace a trap. In response to my sticker shock, he explained that the high cost was partially due to the late hour that the work was completed, as it was now considered "emergency service." When I asked how much the company would have charged me during normal hours, he said it would have cost about $270 less. I paid the exorbitant fee under duress because I needed my sink over Easter weekend and could not wait until Monday to get daytime service from another plumber. I called the company on Monday, April 21, 2025 to complain. The man I spoke with laughed a little at my complaint and said a supervisor would get back to me.
