I've had problems with this company from the very beginning, but at this point, I'm still under the Service warranty and can't seem to get serviced. The first scheduled visit was canceled at the last minute. I thought odd because your no storms or heat wave, but it happens. The second scheduled visit was a no-show and no call. The third scheduled visit once again and no show in a no call. So three no-shows and three no answers because nobody's getting back to me to reschedule and I've left messages and emails. I'm taking a chance by writing this because now I'm wondering whether this is done on purpose. I read a couple of other reviews about the great service from the technician and yes, I can attest to that a couple of visits but more likely they are not all that great. One technician practically begged me to give him a great review which I did, but he wasn't that. Great I just felt bad. Another technician installed the wrong size filter more than once. You can't make up these stories. So now after several calls and emails I have yet to get a call back to reschedule my service at this point. I am now forced to go to someone higher not that it matters but maybe the upper management will have a little better chance of getting me scheduled then I am able to. read more

Terrible company for A/C Bosch units service. Charged me over $700 to schedule the seasonal tune up. Did not perform any cleaning or condensate drainage tests, performed what seemed like a visual inspection, "discovered" a leak in one of the coils but informed me they can't file warranty claim since units weren't installed by them (would be nice to know BEFORE signing a service agreement), offered to pay $5000 to replace the coil. No reports of any kind were submitted as a proof they did any service/inspection/tune up. Called to speak with the Service Manager, was promised to get a call back. Emailed, called again - no answer. Taking them to small claims court to get my money back. PS Hired another company (Royal Comfort) which confirmed there is no leak in the coil, willing to file warranty claims if necessary and submitted a very well documented report about the condition of the units. read more

Horrific experience. Unfortunately, my AC broke down during the height of the Summer in June into August 2025. It took 2 months to complete installation and in between that, they failed to communicate. Took 1/2 down payment for the expensive quote and fail to deliver in time and not update me on the delay. I keep calling and they will always say someone will call back but they never do. Finally in August 2025, the AC got installed but the installers were not experienced at all. They wired the machine to be on constantly. That was an energy waster and my utility company is ConEdison and they charge a lot for electricity. Overall, I will not be using Astacio Sila Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical for any new projects on my property. read more

February 2022 I signed up for a program offered by NYS clean heat and Con Edison then you had to use a participating contractor that would come to your home and do a energy assessment to see if your house would benefit I used Sila Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electrical A salesperson came out to my house (1000 sq ft, no insulation , rock foundation and built in 1885) He assured me without a doubt that if I decommissioned my boiler and removed my radiators that I would save 30% in heating cost and increase my comfort by 30%. They would then install a mini split system run exclusively on electric, I bought the lies hook, line and sinker, my natural gas radiator bill before the system was $450-$500 after the system was installed my electric bill went to $800 and the house is basically cold unless you're sitting underneath one of the units with hot air blowing on you. February 2025 the 3rd winter with mini splits Hundreds of emails, phone calls and approximately 40 appointments with technicians with no improvement except when they brought over 2 electric heaters for the house They never should have approved my house for this program it was never going to be efficient but they didn't care they just wanted the $28,000 that they got. I made the difficult decision to go back to natural gas with radiators to which they sent me an estimate of $32,000 to return back to natural gas. Sigh. This was a company we once trusted. They changed terms. Now they charged $950 for a servic e contract. Turns out that is a less than an hour inspection (about what we would pay for a neurosurgeon consult) and then the serviceman hands us a list of problems amounting to almost $5,000. So we bring in another reputable company. They found no problems other than regular maintenance for which they charged us a new contract just a bit more than Sila - but they cover everything other than replacements. What a disappointment in a once trustworthy company that instead peddles deceit. read more

Hiring Sila to install our central air conditioning came with huge headaches and was nothing but a mistake. The unit installation was shockingly terrible. During the installation process, we came home each day to a dirty home, including dirty handprints on our walls and footprints on the floors all throughout our house. There was also damage, including a large indent left in our wood floor where something was dropped and a ceiling that was left in complete shambles. Lastly, two of the vents didn't work because they weren't hooked up properly in the attic. Fortunately, when we contacted the main office in our area a service manager was horrified enough by the state of our home that he did have Sila cover the cost of a painter coming to repair and repaint our ceiling. He was by far the most competent person we worked with at Sila and we appreciated his responsiveness. The next issue we had has to do with the close-out of our permit. This took from July 2019 when the project was finalized until January 2021. We followed-up to have our permit closed out more times than we can count. At first, it turned out they had an employee in their permit department who never actually contacted the city despite telling us on several occasions it was being taken care of. Then, once he was fired, the new people reaching out had the wrong email for the building department and rather than picking up the phone and calling directly, they decided to keep sending unanswered emails. We finally had to reach out to Sila's COO and he seemingly directed his staff to figure this out. They FINALLY determined the email they had was incorrect. When they notified us of the wrong email they played it off as we "all" had the wrong email. No, sir, you did, not us. It wasn't our responsibility to reach out to the building department at any point and we will not be held responsible in any way for Sila's ineptitude. After the correct email was found the city had the final paperwork to us in a week. read more

If you need an Air Conditioner or Boiler, avoid Sila like the plague. They installed a replacement AC and Boiler Friday. For $18,500 I got a giant hole in my ceiling because they got lazy about putting down plywood, broken basement steps because they didn't have a proper handtruck, and (most importantly) an AC that doesn't cool after they "adjusted" it the morning after. They refuse to send someone over in the middle of a heatwave to fix the AC, don't know when they will get around to fixing the hole, and won't even call me back. Thank God my toddler wasn't in my room when the ceiling came down. The big guy on the ladder is the one who came through (he was uninjured). If you want someone who will install a system, stand by their work, and not cause destruction in your home, go somewhere else! read more

I saw their ad for 159 dollar emergency water heater diagnostic. They came out in about an hour. The tech looked at the water heater which was leaking from the top of the unit and without any investigation told me I needed a new water heater and the fasted it could get done was in two days. After about five minutes he gave me an estimate for $4200 to replace the water heater. I told him I would call the next day if I decide to go ahead with it. The next day I call in another company. They come over. Checked the water heater and determined that the hot water outlet pipe needed to be tightened. The next day I notice a diagnostic charge for 318 dollars. From Anastacio/Sila. Was a long time customer of Sila and had many years of positive interactions. They have been taken over by Astacio plumbing and it is an utter failure on every level. Failed to show up during a 4 hour appointment window and told me "bc you are a good customer we will still come today" as if it was my fault their tech was running 2 hours late. I will not go into how many calls it took to get this appointment or the ridiculous diagnostic fees or the fact that they could not schedule maintenance and repair at same 4 hour window... or that it will take "a day or 2" for a manager to get back me. I recently had Sila install 10 Mitsubishi mini splits (4 lower wall units, 6 upper wall units) around my house. They also vented and installed my new water heater. Overall I looked at multiple companies over the last 6 weeks (including Bruni & Campisi, Yost & Campbell, and Robison Oil among others) to see which company would be able to work with me and get the mini splits installed by March 1st (the deadline to get the full Con Ed rebate for converting from a Natural Gas Boiler to high efficiency electric heat / cooling). Pretty much every other company I contacted was either incapable or unwilling to agree to get the job done in time. Matt Perdue (the Sila sales rep I dealt with) was at least optimistic and gave me a 50-60% chance of getting the project done. Fast forward about 6 weeks from the initial convo...the Sila team completed the project on time and with my preferred equipment (Mitsubishi rather than LG). In that same time, I'm still waiting for the Bruni and Campisi rep to come to me with a quote for a project estimate SMDH. In terms of the Sila installers, they were great. Chris Plavnicky and Sebastian Ramos were the 2 primary technicians on the job and were exemplary (professional/knowledgeable, timely, friendly with my children). I would highly recommend either one of them. It's still relatively early in my relationship with Sila, but hopefully their continued service matches my initial impression of the team. read more

Absolute waste of 200 dollars to have some 18 year old kid come to my home and spend 3 hours there on the phone with another technician. At the end he couldn't figure out the problem and called the furance manufacturer who told him it could need new parts. The tech gave me a bill for 1000 dollars to come back and install the parts. Now they claim they dont service my area only 15 minutes (Mahopac) from the county they are in (westchester). They billed me for maintenance contact few months ago and cashed my check. I called Sila in July. They charged me $500 for a diagnostic with a technician. The a/c worked for a few months. It is now November and there is COLD air blowing through my vents even though it is 32 degrees outside!! I called Sila AGAIN to report the heat is not working. In a SHAMELESS money grab, they wanted me to agree to $330 in upfront charges BEFORE even crossing my threshold!! It is disgusting!! Clearly, the problem was NOT fixed properly the first time and they are going to charge me AGAIN as if they had never been in my home before this system failure. Do not use this company! They came out to service my 2 year old Mitsubishi inverter AC. I was charged $324 for diagnostic and service. They quoted $690 to have a condensate pump replaced. They sourced a pump which was not compatible with Mitsubishi inverter AC causing the unit to short circuit. They tried to blame this on the initial 'poor installation' by another Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer. I was quoted another $6650 to have the whole unit replaced. In total, I paid over $1000 for them to blow up my AC and tell me I need to pay $6650 to have the whole thing replaced. Not only have they destroyed my AC but I'm out of pocket over $1000 for nothing! read more

Technician N. Masone app. On 6/18/2020 Customer # 260284 I am very disappointed with Sila they are very unprofessional. I called them to recharge the R-22 Freon gas to my unit. Technician N. Masone came in on time and saw the unit outside, and in less than 10 minutes, he said that I needed a new unit, and I said that only needed some Freon gas; he replied that they do not recharge an old unit. Instead of recharging the unit, he gave me 3 quotes to replace the whole system, prices from $13,000 to $20,000. Then, he came to see the furnace inside and spent another 10 minutes, and charged $125.00 plus $90.00 total $215.00, all for writing a quote. I called another HVAC company; they recharged the unit, and told me that the unit is working fine, only needed some gas. read more

Sila takes HVAC up a notch in professionalism. They are a well organized and well managed company-- this is not like dealing with your neighborhood plumber. I've had 2 major jobs performed by Sila-- Lennox AC installation and the overhaul of the control system on a large Weil Mclain boiler. Calls get through to a knowledgeable dispatch supervisor almost immediately. The techs come to your home with business cards so you can contact them by cell or text or email. The tech that came to my home, Ivan Camacho deserves mention-- he was clearly experienced, analytic, and communicative. I work during the day so we texted information back and forth on a fairly complex problem. The experience was like dealing with other professionals that I interact with at work. I gave Sila 4 stars, not 5, because I want this to be an honest and realistic review. Sila is bit expensive, but if you work during the day and need to deal with an HVAC team that functions at the highest level, then you need to consider Sila. read more

Sila is incompetent and dishonest. We got tired of their overcharging and hired a different AC service company this year. The new company discovered that Sila had switched our AC compressor fan without our knowledge - and the air is blowing into the compressor, not out, away from the compressor. I live in Greenwich, CT and only post positive reviews on Yelp. Not today. In all of my experience with Sila, they are never (not once - over years, 2 properties and multiple visits) on time, nor do they bother to let you know. They are expensive and the customer service "manager," Rich, is actually quite rude. So if you are trying them for the first time, brace yourself and try to clear your whole day - that "service window" is entirely fictional. They will show up when they show up. Just relax, get a great book out, don't make any commitments for the day and everything will go just fine. If it doesn't go just fine, forget about speaking to "customer service." That too is a fictional concept at Sila. I also feel dumb for not calling Northeast Radiant - they have been our plumbing and radiant heat vendor and they are seriously professional. I didn't realize they do a/c but they do. If you are looking for a/c, call them or anyone other than Sila, that's my best advice as a fellow Westchester resident. read more

A loss leader to say the least. They advertised a $99 diagnostic fee which includes a "free" pound of refrigerant. The technician diagnosed that I need to replace a capacitor (cost under $20 to buy online and 15 minutes to install), Their price quoted was $408 plus the $99 diagnostic fee ($507). I offered them $408 total (very generous price) which includes the $99 diagnostic fee. The technician declined saying "the price is the price", but, I owe them the $99 fee regardless. I told him to give me a write-up of the diagnostic results and install the pound of freon even though I do NOT need it and I will pay the $99 fee. The technician verbally agreed and went back to his truck and just drove away without doing anything at all. Luckily, I never paid them. There are many rip off artists in this industry and these guys are definitely in that club. Keep away.... read more

I tried Sila out after years of feeling ripped off and dissatisfied with the service of Bruni & Campisi. I made an appointment for a service of my air conditioning system on short notice with a narrow window of availability. I was given an appointment within my window and waited to see what would happen. The following morning I received a call from Sila telling me that my technician would arrive within 15 minutes. Doug, the technician arrived exactly on time to perform the service. Doug was the most thorough air conditioning technician who ever set foot in my house. He spent time asking me about my concerns and spent a lot of time going over the system. He pointed out a few issues and I think spent well over two hours at my home. The Bruni & Campisi guys were never here longer than a half hour. My big problem was that the air flow from the upstairs unit was uneven and in my son's room particularly weak. I had been complaining to B&C's technicians about this for three years and even paid for a "repair". Doug pulled the duct that was servicing this room and discovered that the valance was 80% closed. As a result only a paltry amount of heat and air was getting to the room. He corrected the problem in a minute and I believe the problem which baffled B&C was solved. I had a little gripe at being charged $99 for him to diagnose that a valve vent on my unit needed to be replaced. But based on the overall cost and time spent I thought the service was outstanding for the price. I would give 5 stars but I want to see how the system works for the rest of the heating system and during the summer. Overall I was very satisfied with Doug and Sila. If this service was indicative of the usual work they do, they are top notch. read more

Why do they have an emergency contact when they do not call you back? I bought this high velocity system in the late summer last year, it was cool outside so I did not really run it too much. This year it is hot so I noticed some of my rooms are not cooling. I have sick elderly family members here that need the cool air. I called Sila they came out within a day or two. The guy was on time and said that the unit needed a part. Apparently when they put it in they forgot to put this part in. WOW!! I spent a lot of money on this and it was not done right. The worker came out about 3 weeks ago and stated he would order the part. I have emailed the company and called several times. No one seems to know what is going on with the part or when they are coming back to fix the issue at the company. They have told me they would call me back and they haven't each time. Not only did he do a good job working on and solving the problem, he was kind, patient, and helpful. Dennis is very personable and has a great rapport with the customer. When I was watching him work, he answered all my questions, and I could tell he also had good teaching skills. I wrote a review and it was taken down - claiming I did not use this company . However , I have the invoices and paperwork to prove I did . I had a service contract in which the company would come out and service the unit for the season , reduce price on work needed and coming at a faster pace . Well my horror began they sent Abraham he told me my unit needed a motor because it was not working . I told him okay - even though I felt the heat . He came back two days later and then claimed I needed a whole new unit !!!! I threw him out ! He red tagged my unit ; I called for a second opinion guess what my motor did not freeze the man showed me it moved . 1 star as there is no option to give any less than that. Worst possible contact you can think of. I called SILA for a small leak problem i had in one of the heating pipes. Spoke to the customer care about the leak specifically asked that i want to drain the water from the pipes so the leak is not a problem and wanted the executive to take a look at possible alternatives to fix the leak issue. Agreed that $149 would cover the visit fees (diagnostic) and the draining work as well. When the executive came he said $149 is only for the visit and diagnosis of the problem and asked more money for the draining of pipes (separate $100). Called the customer care and reached to the same contact that i spoke and agreed to and he literally denied that draining is not included. The executive and the customer care both started talking rudely. Does not matter if it is just a $100 problem but it reflects how they treat their customers. I ended up paying full amount and got the pipes drained. Executive said i ll get back to you with the estimate to fix the issue as he took the picture and was supposed to show it to his manager. Its been a month still no body has contacted me yet. So i ended up paying 250 for draining the pipes and i still dont know how to fix the issue. I wont do business with you ever!!! Period. read more

Their was a drip that was occurring in my home and I couldn't resolve it. I'm a EMS profession and had to take a day off for this leak on the worst times of the pandemic. I agree with Matt, Raymond, and David as it's the same I experienced. They advertise $75 dollars off for first service of winter REPAIR, not servicing, for which they way overcharge. First you have to pay $149 for first 15 mins just to diagnose your problem, then charged me $300 to change a $6 part. Before they do that, they try to tell you your unit has a whole lot of other issues and to do all the work would be $1300! They think you're desperate because it's winter and you need heat, but guess what there's a lot of HVAC service out there with a lot less BS! I accidentally got to them by clicking on a link while googling another company I was referred to so that was a little shady. Wished I had double checked with Yelp, not to mention the reviews on my neighborhood app. Beware! read more

Just moved out from California to NYC, so I know very little about the gas/steam heating system in my house. Eric from Sila came out today and not only fixed my problem quickly but gave me a much needed over view of how the system works so that I can feel confident at pinpointing any problem in the future. I called Sila as my AC was not working for the upstairs in my home. The technician came and repaired the unit. Told me the equipment was old and probably needed to be replaced. A week later i had another issue as a damper wouldn't open. A new technician came out and "charged the unit" and told me that the only way to fix the unit was to replace it. A day later i was contacted by a sales person at Sila and told they could have a new $15k unit installed by the end of the week. There was nothing they could do to fix the current equipment. Before moving forward i called in a second opinion. Here are the findings. The unit was OVER CHARGED and could have potentially exploded as a result. All other parts of the system were in good working order and YES the damper needed to be replaced. The bottom line is, whatever the excuse, intentional to destroy the system or incompetence both are unacceptable. The pushy sales involved in the repair process leaves a really bad taste. I will not be using Sila again and will not recommend to anyone. read more

What is happening to these guys? They were great, responsive, organized. They replaced by condenser unit and provided a couple of routine serving. I had wonderful experiences with them - and now, it is time to renew my service contract. I'm all for renewing - but what they heck is wrong with their office team? It has been a challenge to schedule a maintenance - which scares me - because I don't know how responsive they will be when/if I have a significant issue. However, I have received numerous calls to renew - all the while, making it clear that once they come out to provide the included maintenance (scheduled for 10 days as of this review,) I will renew - as long as it was a through job and I felt comfortable that they are reliable. Come on Sila - you're one of the better outfits there - please don't loose that customer service edge. read more

I'm very conflicted here. I actually had my high velocity AC system installed earlier this year by another company which gave me a better price with less pressure by the salesperson. But that company (Valley Mechanical) was unresponsive when it came to making a small fix - they aren't local. Sila responded quickly and are closer to me but the cost for about an hour's work and few inexpensive parts was SO STEEP that I really felt gouged! read more
