Discovered Brunk's Butchery on Instagram and finally had the chance to visit due to my love for steaks. Arriving a bit late, I found the place closed, but to my surprise, the owner came out and warmly invited me in, assuring it wasn't an imposition. I ended up purchasing three thick slices of prime ribeye, and they were nothing short of amazing - perfect marbling and incredibly flavorful. Came through at the recommendation of a friend that frequents the Norco location, and it was great! Even though it's a little out of sight tucked away by the Panera, Brunk's shines through the noise with a delicious variety of freshly-made BBQ dishes, a deli where you can splurge on things like tomahawk steak, and something of a general store with breads, butters, raw honey, spice mixes and more from other local and/or small operations. Completely amazing place, inside looks great and smells amazing, beautiful looking meats and aged meets as well, came here for the first time on father's day, I was looking to get beef ribs, I 100% kinda knew they be out of BBs, so I asked for beef ribs and then had to me was a half a rack, I think it was 6 bones in, so beautiful red and in my opinion fully trimmed competition Style very evenly and squared up so nice, i just couldn't pass it up or tell them to cut it half, it just me and my wife, so just bought it, I little under 5 lbs,spent like $94, the staff was really nice and gave us some smoked meat to try out and even threw in.some steak tips, i will be back for more epic.meat, I would rather give my money to small business then the store, the meat here is always going to be better and local read more

This is an extremely small butcher shop (in size) compared to the other ones I've been too. But they do carry a lot of things jam packed in their displays and shelves. They only have about 3 large cooler displays. Meats are held everywhere. Slightly convoluted and messy. Some of their wagyu rib eye though is cheaper than their competitors. For example their A-5 ribeye is $130 per lb compared to $150. But their Australian wagyu coat more than the other butcher shop. So I would say don't be afraid to call around and compare prices. Customer service here is a lot better than the one in La Verne. She was extremely friendly. Very informative. Conversational. Really helpful. So instead of driving from here to La Verne, I just decided to bite the $20 per lb difference and buy the Australian wagyu from her. Lot of foot traffic thru here. They even have a great selection of cheeses, breads, other complimentary items great for a BBQ. I ended up getting a lb each of their A-5 (japanese) wagyu, Australian wagyu and American (SNF) wagyu. I wanted them to be around a quarter inch cut since I was putting it on the cast iron as suppose to the grill. Majority came out carpaccio thin though, so you really couldn't feel the tenderness, so that was quite a disappointment. Some of the cuts reminded me of prosciutto because it was so thin. It was so thin that when I cooked it, it curled up and got wrinkly due to the lack of girth and thickness to hold it firmly flat. Definite miss. Also their A-5 wagyu contained so much excessive fat, that was not part of the marbling, which was such a waste. But quality though was pretty good. If your in the area looking to splurge on some good quality wagyu, I would recommend giving them a try here at Brunks. read more

Stopped by Brunk's before our trip to Big Bear Lake for some grill meats. We walked out with a pack of English Bangers and an NY steak. We'll likely be back on our next road trip or cookout because they sell family packs which include a selection of grill meats, bread, and sides. If you love high end quality meats such as wagyu and dry aged steaks, you need to stop by Brunk's butchery. I stopped by their brand new second location in Chino Hills last week and was impressed! They sell all natural, grass fed meats, artisan cheeses, Boar's Head deli meats, charcuterie boards, and hot food. They also sell specialty grocery items like infused oils, sauces, artisanal pastas, sparkling sodas, and seasonings. They have everything you need to make a great meal. I had their Brunk's burger, buffalo chicken sandwich & turkey sandwich. They were all so tasty. The burger had bacon jam and it gave the burger a great flavor. I really loved the smokiness & spiciness of the buffalo chicken sandwich. It had a good chipotle flavor and the onions went well in the sandwich. I also got to try one of their charcuterie boards and the owner, Nicole really puts a lot of work into making them. It had a variety of artisan cheeses and meats and tasted delicious. They also sell other sandwiches and a loaded brisket potato that looks amazing. I believe they plan to sell more items once they have their grand opening. This location is much bigger & spacious than their Norco location since they have a dining area. Stop by & support this awesome family business. This place is so good. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was delicious. When you order the baked potato it comes with all the fixings. You must come eat here and support this business. They also have meat and spices. They carry Boar's Head which is great sandwich meat. I give them a big thumbs up. Come on Chino Hills give it a try. For the best meat in town! I went in to get my husband a special cut of meat for his birthday. He loved the meat .

Went to the soft opening. The store is very organized and clean. They sell a variety of items: sandwiches, dried pasta, impressive variety of imported cheeses, charcuterie, seafood, chicken, pork, and of course beef. When I saw the prices, I literally laughed. Mind you, I recognize quality and can appreciate a dry aged prime steak. But when the price of the raw ingredient approaches or exceeds what I can get at a decent restaurant or online, I hesitate since I vale value...the balance between quality and price. We're talking 50 Biden bucks a pound for some beef cuts. 140 dollars a pound for wagyu (which is actually probably worth it especially if olive wagyu). 50 dollars a pound for scallops (can't imagine how they can be better than Costco). They do have cuts that you won't typically find like hanger or picahna (about 20 a pound, which means a picahna is $40-60 dollars, the entrance fee for all you can eat Brazilian bbq). I can understand their strategy is low volume, high margin. But for meats, they better move enough product to maintain freshness. I could have fit the profile of their target customers, but short of a special occasion indulgence, I cannot justify shopping here regularly. Ultimately, it pains me to write a review like this for a local independent business. I wish them the best of luck. I hope I am wrong and their assessment of the Chino Hills market is spot on. I love having real butchers nearby. But then their choice of name begs the question: are they a real butcher? Do they process the animals or do they buy from a wholesaler or distributor? Are they a middleman? They certainly offer good quality meat from sources like Snake River. For me, a real butcher will process whole animal carcasses from a local farm (we certainly have lots of cows in the IE) and sells the cuts they prepare themselves...not just trimming fat and breaking down primal and subprimal cuts they order from a checklist. That way they can offer quality, customization, and value without any pretense. Of course the reality of the meat market means real butchers are becoming rare. I asked if they had pork jowl. The person behind the counter (who probably has never butchered an animal) said he would have to order from their supplier. I said "Never mind." In my ideal world, the right answer would be, "Of course, the next time I butcher a pig, I'll save the cheeks for you." I don't think this happens here. read more

It was really worth the wait-they seemed to be delayed in opening waiting for the health certificate. The staff are so nice. They are great sharing their knowledge about the different cuts of meat, we never felt rushed. The meat we bought was so worth the price. Bonus, the person behind the counter gave us a 'free smoked burger' to try as well, which was so good. Their service is wonderful, not sure why anyone left a negative review...I guess thats what happens when you ask someone their opinion, they sometimes feel it needs to be negative. Tried the picanha sandwich here today and OMG it was so good I had to order another one! The sandwich is $18 with tax and it's so delicious. The picture I took does no justice (and I already ate some of it so the sandwich was squished when I took the pic lol). The picanha is cooked perfectly, very tender and moist. I'll definitely be revisiting again to order the same sandwich and to try their other menu items. They have a wide selection of good quality meats you can purchase here too and bring home to cook. Those aged tomahawk steaks looked amazing but a big steak is too much for us anymore so Dylan steered me toward some small filet medallions-grass fed, no antibiotics. Red wine helped settled my stomach, but I believe the products sold here should be discounted if they are past their expiration date. That's what every other market does with their old product. Brunk's is a new business in Norco. Although my wife and I no longer live in Norco, we were back to visit family and decided to stop in. First of all, Brunk's carries QUALITY meats like Kobe, etc. All of the meats looked really, really good. If you come here looking for a chub of cheap ground beef don't bother. We picked out a porterhouse, a ribeye, a couple of Italian sausages with goat cheese, a bit of smoked bleu cheese, and a bit of red dragon spicy cheese. As I wrote this review we have tried the cheeses and the porterhouse is sitting in a rib getting ready for the grill. I will update this review once we try the meats! Brunk's was clean, the folks were friendly, and the meat and cheeses looked outstanding. I expect we will wish Brunk's had opened up while we still lived nearby! Ok, quick update. My lovely wife and I grilled up the porterhouse at the campsite. She mixed up a butter using some of the smoked bleu cheese as a topping. Superb all the way around! The steak was very tender and flavorful. I am looking forward to trying the other meats we bought. read more

My first impression of this place was not great. The biggest red flag from this place was the fact that I was served a pile of plastic on my sandwich. I took a bite of my sandwich like normal, and ended up having to pull strands of plastic out of my throat. Could have been pretty bad if someone choked on this stuff. I brought it to the attention of the staff and he told me it was "technically edible" but if I didn't like it, I could pull it off the pepperoni myself. That is pretty terrible customer service if you ask me. I would not recommend anyone to eat here. The Panera across the way is similarly priced and the quality control is more reliable. read more

Went in to buy a New York strip and was treated like I was inconveniencing them. I stood at the meat counter while two employees were standing at the register chatting it up. Paid $37 for a 12 oz steak. The real problem is, the steak was very oxidized on the bottom side that wasn't visible to me until I had already gotten back home. While oxidization isn't necessarily a sign of spoilage, the smell coming off of it was. I wanted to believe it was all in my head so I went ahead and cooked it anyways. All it took was two bites to throw the rest away. I reached out about my experience but I never received any sort of reply. Rude, non-attentive service. Unknowledgeable staff. Crazy high prices!! I ordered a 6 pound prime rib roast a week in advance as recommended. When I arrived the roast was not ready. I had to wait for it to be cut and trimmed. I was rudely told the roasts are usually sold by the number of ribs, not by pounds. I asked how many for a six pound roast, or to feed four; I was told three ribs. . The roast was $309.! This was my first and last purchase. read more
