Im still a huge fan of Billy's Egg Farm and highly recommend them for their farm fresh eggs!…read more Their quality is amazing - eggs just tastes better! If you're looking for that rich deep orange yolk, you'll likely find it here. I find that their eggs do not always have that deep orange yolk, but it often does! I finally tried their Ugleez ($12.50/30 eggs) and besides being "ugly" and much lighter in color on the outside, they were delicious and had the perfect orange yolk! See my photos for comparison with their Jumbo ($12/20 eggs). It's a steal to get the Ugleez if you aren't looking for a massively huge egg and still want that farm fresh quality!

I came to this drive-through farm instead of Maust Farms across the street, and there are…read moredefinitely pros and cons to both. This location is convenient and accessible because it's a drive-through, although traffic can get backed up. The eggs are also more expensive than the ones across the street, and in reality, I really couldn't tell which ones were better. I know some people are sticklers about eggs, but I honestly couldn't see much of a difference between the blue eggs I got from Maust Farms and the brown eggs from here. My biggest issue with this place was the amount of fecal matter on the eggs. That wasn't exactly appetizing, especially compared with the eggs across the street, which were much cleaner. I know farm-fresh eggs aren't always going to look perfectly clean, but for what I paid, I expected them to be cleaner. I originally thought you weren't really supposed to wash farm-fresh eggs with water, but when there's visible fecal matter on the shells, obviously you want to clean them before using them. I later learned that you can buy an enzymatic egg wash specifically made for cleaning fresh eggs and that the water should be warmer rather than cold when washing. Using cold water can cause the contents of the egg to contract and potentially draw contaminants through the porous shell. So if you're coming to this location, I would recommend knowing how to properly clean and store farm-fresh eggs, especially if yours are as dirty as some of mine were. The people here were very nice, and the drive-through is definitely convenient. However, between the higher price and how dirty the eggs were, I'll most likely go across the street next time.

I was excited to get eggs straight from the source and at very good prices as well! When you pull up to the farm there's an area where you can park. I came in on a weekday so it was chill and relaxed and not too busy at all. The folks here were very friendly and helpful. They were running a special I felt like I couldn't pass up even though it meant a lot more eggs than I can eat in a reasonable amount of time. $15 for 100 large brown eggs! I ended up giving a lot away to some friends so they didn't go to waste, but such a great deal. Their regular prices are more than reasonable as well, but depending on where you're coming from, you just have to make the drive out there.

The meat market is connected to the restaurant (same ownership/management), and the meat quality never disappoints. My favorites to buy are the chorizo and the marinated chuck steaks. They also sell the restaurant's salsas in the market, along with totopos, corn and flour tortillas, seasonings, and more. It does get busy, but with the growing popularity (thanks, TikTok), that's expected. Bring a little patience if you visit on a busy day. The market itself is small with limited standing room, but the guys behind the counter know this and move quickly to get your order packed. The restaurant side is busy too, and it's gotten even more so since I first found it. I'm honestly glad I found this place. They have my favorite tacos in the IE. Before this, I'd still drive to OC for tacos because nothing here matched what I was looking for. Now this is my go-to spot. My favorite thing to order is the taco special: 3 tacos with a drink (agua fresca or canned soda), or 5 tacos with a drink. They offer a great variety of meats at no extra charge -- my favorites are al pastor and carne asada. They also have a solid lineup of Mexican food: birria, sopes, nachos, burritos. My daughter loves the burritos -- it's her backup spot when she can't make it to her favorite shop. Every dish I've tried has been fresh, with generous portions. Nothing sits around getting cold, because most food is made fresh as you order it -- which is exactly why there's a bit of a wait on busy days. While you wait, hit the salsa bar. The pickled jalapeños (I believe house-made) are excellent, and the pickled onion/habanero mix is a must-try if you like spice. I recommend most of the menu -- you really can't go wrong. The restaurant and restroom are both very clean. Parking can be a little tricky on busy days but usually clears up quickly. Prices run a bit higher than other spots, but it's worth it.

I'm picky with my red meats, and they had it seasoned and unseasoned. I bought 150 worth I think and it was so worth the price. I got the meats above that are in CAPS. I had a wonderful phone conversation with the owner Ben who personally took my order. We agreed upon a date and time two weeks out since I was going to be out of town for the 4th of July week. They called while I was out of town to confirm the date and time (between 10-11 am) which was great! When I arrived to the store with my son around 11:15 because of the heavy traffic on 91W I went to the counter and was told by a young female that I needed to go to the pay counter. She was curt and not helpful. There was only three people ahead of me so no problem. But the elder gentleman in front of me, who was being helped by the young man who would eventually help me, took an exceptionally long time with his order. I'm just here to pay and pick up. No problem, I'll be patient and keep waiting. Two other costumers are helped by the female counter person and finally the elder customer leaves with his order and I'm next. The young male counter person then waits for me to initiate the conversation and doesn't greet me with a smile or hello or how can I help. I brush it off. I tell him I'm here to pick up my order, a whole pig and give him my last name. He fumbles around a few seconds and then asks how to spell my name and eventually finds my ticket order and asks what time. The time is written at the top of the ticket he failed to notice. I pay for the order. He mutters someone will be out with my order and disappears. No thank you, no attentiveness like he gave the older gentleman in front of me. Again, I've been in my car with my son for over two hours from San Diego in traffic and this fella couldn't give me five minutes of courtesy. I'm waiting, and waiting and waiting while others eventually come into the store and are being helped and leaving. The older female worker at the pay counter is still there helping customers while the younger female at the deli counter is now apparently on a break and making herself lunch. She stops momentarily when a customer comes in for deli service. I'm still waiting by the counter to make sure I'm at least acknowledged but I don't see the young male counter worker who apparently left for lunch since it's now noon. The older female worker can probably see on my face that I'm not happy and says to me he's working on my order. He? Who's he? I am just here to pay and pick order between 10-11. How much time and trouble could it be to put this order together which was made two weeks prior? A different gentlemen finally arrives with three boxes and two large paper bags that comprise my order. On the way out the older female worker says goodbye and was very courteous. At this point I'm pretty upset because this is not a large haul and this order could've easily been second and not 45 minutes! I arrive home after the two hour drive back home to SD and looking forward to the meat, especially the sausages and putting it into the freezer which I cleared out in preparation for the meat. My older son is home to help. As we are sorting and placing the meat I notice that there are no sausages. It's just sausage meat but no links. I guess it's my fault for assuming and not specifying sausage links on at peat some of the order. It was a huge letdown. I had array went out to purchase rolls and buns for a bbq this weekend and to have friends and family over. Oh well. You live and you learn. At least the bacon was great.
