Bruno's Old Style Hoagies is a great sub shop and a great option if you are in Lititz, Pennsylvania and craving a good hoagie (I grew up in New Jersey and we called them subs. Whether you choose to call them a hoagie or sub, they are delicious). I had rgeir Meatza Meatza, which consisted of hot soppressata, cotechino, cappicola, Genoa salami, peppered ham, and mild provolone. It was pretty good and I definitely enjoyed my meal. The ambiance is pleasant, but nothing fancy. But there is nothing fancy about a sub (or if you prefer the term hoagie). The staff is friendly here, which added to my overall experience. If you find yourself in Lititz, Pennsylvania and craving a good hoagie (or if you prefer the term sub), I would definitely recommend Bruno's Old Style Hoagies. read more

This eatery is just off the main thoroughfare next to Wilbur Chocolates sales store. I stumbled upon it and popped in for a couple hoagies. They had several yummy soups available and I ordered a bowl of poblano soup that was amazing. On a second visit I tried a cup of Italian Wedding. I was offered a soft or hard roll so these sandwiches are not strictly an amoroso roll hoagie. But the soft roll choice was just perfect! My hoagie choice included roasted red peppers - the perfect compliment! I tried 3 types of hoagies so far, one called a Lititz special. All were absolutely delicious! These hoagies really are a winning combination. No fountain drinks available nor unsweet tea, but there is a rack of chips and a cooler of drinks to accomodate. You can dine in or sit outside. They close at 2 pm which is a bit early to grab a dinner hoagie. But if you get in there for lunch you will be very happy! read more

The best hoagies I've ever had!!! Extremely fast service & the sweetest most helpful staff. I had never been since I'm not from PA but my boyfriend raved about these hoagies and for good reason. I'm an indecisive person so I asked the sweet girl behind the counter to tell me what her favorite was and it was a done deal. I ended up getting the Lititz Special hoagie on a hard roll and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious, packed with flavor, and fresh everything came out to be. The two gentlemen working the shift along with the sweet girl started making the hoagies as soon as they heard our order! read more

Best hoagie shop in Lancaster PA! Real philly hoagie rolls (hard roll is the best!) fresh meat and toppings. Cheese selection varieties are the best! Also, their tuna recipe is so delicious I have never found one that compares. The spice blend used on the hoagies brings so much flavor. I also appreciate that they stuff the hoagies with and extra piece of meat on top...lower cost then what Subway charges for two slices of meat on their subs! The sandwich had Prosciutto, capicola , Genoa salami and aged sharp provolone. LTO and oil optional. Half $6 Full $10. Plenty of meat in the sandwich. Sharp provolone gives the sandwich some spice. Stopped in here over the weekend after hearing so many good reviews. I got the '76 American and my friend got The Bruno. We both loved our subs. The whole is huge so we both got lunch and dinner from them but that was ok with us for sure. The bread as also delicious. Not bad. Not to my taste. Seems nice in a touristy kind of way.Staff was cheerful and nice. Soup was lackluster. They had a choice of three Tomato Bisque, Chicken Dumpling, or Beanless Chili. Not resurants fault but never cared for tomato soup and don't like dough balls in soup.Chose the Chili. To me was bland uninspiring and had the consistency of strained naby food. Fresh ingredients, really good bread. I ordered a spicy Italian sub for lunch. The first half of the sandwich covered lunch. Second half? Dinner. When I was young, I went to a school located in the middle if the world's largest corn field. We had an unofficial motto: "If you can find us you know where we're at." Went and bought a corn beef on rye. The bread was cold, dry and like sandpaper. The meat cold, dry, Flavorless. Asked if they heated up their corn beef and I was told they had no means to heat up. Pathetic. Some meats need to be cooked, heated Corn beef, pastrami, should be hot, rye bread seared with butter, slightly toasted. No love, for the meal. Bread is the best thing they have. It's no Katz, but they can do better with a flat top grill. read more

Accidentally walked in about 20 minutes after the store had closed with some of my family. The store didn't seem like it was closed so we walked in, all the lights were on, people were sitting at the tables, someone else walking in even held the door open for us. As soon as we walked in one of the employees was immediately hostile, we started leaving and she kept insulting us, calling us stupid for not realizing they were closed, and said "Go f*ck yourselves" as we exited the building. Took some local advice and decided to stop by here for a late lunch. What an amazing spot! We ordered the tuna salad and roast beef and it was simply delicious! The tuna was definitely home made, light on mayo and full of flavor. The roast beef was smooth like ham, nice and rare, nothing stringy! Service was quick and super friendly. Easily the best sandwich in the area. I have been told that the people who own Bruno's are former Primo's employees. Primo's, for those who don't know, is a sandwich shop in Philadelphia that has opened dozens of franchises in the area within the last few years. I have mixed feelings about Primo's, but that's beside the point. Bruno's offers really nice seeded rolls that are shipped from Philadelphia daily. They use good sharp provolone and quality meat. I was skeptical of Bruno's at first, but I think they do a good job. I just wish they had some hot sandwiches too (chicken, pork, etc). Few words could accurately describe just how good the Hoagies at Bruno's are. All I know is that there are few restaurants that I crave on a day-to-day basis, but Bruno's, for me, is a must have. Lititz has it's share of places to spend my money for a quick meal. Unfortunately none are crafted with the elegance of a Bruno's hoagie - which makes this all the better. I know, when I spend my money here, I am enjoying every bite I take and hoping for it to never end. You have a choice between hard and soft, I prefer the hard. The meats are tasty and the veggies are always fresh. These folks know how to make a good Hoagie. Lots of meat, great bread, fresh ingredients, and a whole lot of flavor. Be sure to find this place, it's tucked in behind the Wilbur Choc. parking lot, above Greco's Ice Cream. Love their sandwiches, but wish they'd have their hot ones available in this store. The place is clean, the staff very friendly and fun, and they'll do special orders happily. They go out of their way to gain and keep their customers. This is an "ok" sandwich joint. Limited menu which they don't appear to be to flexible to deviate from. I've had better sandwiches but I've also had a lot worse. For this particular location the store itself is tucked back off the road and is hard to find. The biggest downside is the parking which can only be described as horrible. Unless you're one of those lucky few people that good fortune just seems to follow around expect to park in the street and if you know Lititz, good luck. read more

We went with a #13 hoagie, chips and a soda. The bag chips are made by a co. in womelsdorf and are real good. The hoagie had some good spices and they weren't overpowering. The meat was sliced nice and thin and tasted fresh. I am telling you, it really hit the spot. There is seating inside and two tables outside. There was a slight breeze blowing and it was a real enjoyable lunch. The drinks are all bottled from what i could tell. For a great hoagie, eat here. read more

Outstanding Italian Hoagies they use great rolls too! My only 2 gripes are their hours they close at 2'oclock no way to get one for dinner... Also they dice the tomatos instead of slicing, not a huge deal but these sandwiches a high end, and deserve a nice sliced tomato. Best hoagie around! read more

We are originally from Philly and have had a hard time finding good hoagies. Bruno's hoagies are, BY FAR, the BEST hoagies to be had in Lancaster County. The rolls are Philly rolls and there is no comparison to the mushy, doughy local roll. These are NOT 'subs' these are hoagies and they are delicious. Clean and friendly. read more
