Our elderly cat is on a long term drug to resolve a chronic condition that was prescribed by Dr Norman before CareVet took over and now they will not extend the prescription. They have eliminated the separation of dogs and cats in the waiting room (which was brilliant). Their staff is no longer the friendly, happy staff that we saw in the past and the vet that gave the last exam did not have any knowledge of the cat's history or did she seem to care. We cannot wait to change vets.

The overwhelming majority of this time was spent waiting in the waiting room or exam room. There did not appear to be a single other patient in the practice while we were there, so I'm perplexed as to why we had to wait this long. When I got home, I reviewed the receipt because I felt the total was higher than the estimate, and I realized they charged us twice for one of the medications. The staff and veterinarian seemed generally friendly/competent, but the wait time, coupled with the billing mistake, is a deal breaker for me. I will not return to this practice.

They asked me what breed he is and how much he ate. The gal who answered the phone went and asked the vet about it. The vet said, since it wasn't a big Alaska crab, it was just one of the little crabs around here, the dogs should be fine; just watch the dog. I feel reassured. They followed up on the bloodwork promptly with realistic recommendations, considering her age and situation. I will be using them for my younger dog who currently has two prescriptions in order to endure a vet appointment. It is a bit more expensive as you pay for the house call and it does take a while to get an appointment--I believe they scheduled this annual visit out about a month from when I made it, however it is totally worth the extra money and the wait.

I wanted a place that could help me check in on the care of my guinea pig, which a lot of places don't- this place does! I called for an appointment for my piggy Truffle, and they were friendly and set up an appointment for that same day. I was honestly glad to be taken seriously- guinea pigs are just as important as cats and dogs! It's a clean, organized space here with numerous doctors and very friendly staff at the front desk. I've had two vets here, and both have been knowledgeable, friendly, and understanding of all my pet related concerns. When Truffle had an infection, the vet was happy to prescribe him a medication that fit my budget and really did help improve his health. They are also great with pet emergencies. Truffle had a very bad infection, and they were able to see him within an hour. This is super important for stressed pet parents like me! Check ups can be a little pricey, but it's worth it because your pet is getting the best care. I'd recommend this vet's office to anyone. It is great.

I brought my pup in at 3 am because of crying most of the night. He does have a known UTI with struvite crystals and a urine pH of 9. At first she wanted to do an x ray and ultrasound to look for stones. Uhh. Ultrasound would've seen both. No need for the xray. I nicely suggested starting with the ultrasound. ANYTIME I tried at all to advocate for my pup, I got attitude and talked to as if I knew absolutely nothing. I also asked if she could prescribe something to lower the urinary pH, as that would be a double approach to help resolve the infection. She threw her hands up, claimed that my asking questions and seeking clarification was "abusive" and "she's not taking that at 3 am" It's basic infection cycle. Interrupt the cycle at as many points as you can, get quicker resolve. If you need emergent care, steer clear of this place. Go right to Portland. Like she suggested we should've. First time here, and absolutely will NEVER be back nor recommend ANYONE else. Imagine claiming someone's being abusive because they don't want to answer questions as to their thought process in the care of your animal. Absolutely insane
