Brushworks was hired by my property management company to complete repairs for water damage in my apartment due to a roof leak. I had severe water damage in my living room and bathroom. I thought the job would take at least a few days to complete, however, the 3 workers were able to get all of the repairs done in one full day. They were professional, quiet (since I was working from home) and tried their best to leave behind as little mess as possible. It was easy to coordinate with John Beers via email and text. I am very relieved the repairs are finally complete and that the work wasn't a major inconvenience to me. I needed to get some minor water damage to my apartment walls/ceiling remediated. After searching online and also digging around on the Yelp app, I happened upon this listing for Brushworks. I'm very glad that I did. Most of the other estimates I had received up to that point were provided "sight-unseen" over the phone or via e-mail. They did not seem to be grounded in reality. In contrast, John Beers was remarkably easy to deal with and quickly sent over his team to make an on-site assessment of the proposed work to be done. For what it's worth, they came over to take a look on a Saturday morning to better accommodate my schedule. The quote ultimately provided was significantly better than the others I had since collected, and even presented with a clear breakdown by line-item. I had purchased my own paint, so John knocked down the cost of those supplies and resent an updated estimate. John was patient with all of my questions throughout the process and readily accessible via phone/e-mail. I had a LOT of back and forth with him before the project even commenced, but he still humored my paranoia down to the smallest detail. When a date was set, the Brushworks team showed up and got to work quickly. Although originally slated to take one day, the painting took another day to actually complete. After a few days had gone by and I had a chance to observe the work at different times of day under various lighting conditions, I noticed a few small areas that needed to be touched up. I was worried that I was barking up the wrong tree, but I was pleasantly surprised. My request was no problem for John--he was amenable to scheduling a follow up visit to address my minor concerns. I highly recommend John and his team for any painting project. He was nice to interact with from initial inquiry to final payment. It was also great that the quoted price was honored without any unwanted surprises, which I had unfortunately read numerous accounts of. BrushWorks is hands down the best contractor that I've ever worked with. John and his crew are responsive, professional, highly skilled and timely. Brushworks did a full paintjob on my apartment, which required a thorough scraping and re-priming of the ceiling, all in less than a week - and they did a fantastic job. They also took care of several other bonus items to make sure the place looked good upon completion. The pricing was reasonable, and his estimate was almost spot on with the final price, including the few extra side items. John and his team also came back to repair and fix a poor granite installation job that someone else did. Again, this was done beautifully and with a very quick turnaround time. Sloppy and unresponsive. Brushworks painting came very highly recommended, which is why I was so surprised by how sloppy the work was. Have had to ask them back twice so far to fix errors made when the job was "finished." Errors include sloppy edging lines, paint bubbles allowed to dry on the walls, paint on the light switches and electrical outlets, and paint on my brand new floors, sink, and fixtures. After getting quotes from several painters Brushworks were very resonable. John was easy to understand, knowledgeable and proffesional. I left them keys to the apartment and was never concerned. His crew has been with him a long time so they are honest and dedicated to him.
