This was a nice and trendy salon. I had a good experience at the beginning with Samantha. She was friendly and she was gentle with the application. I asked for a J-Lo makeup look and it was close enough. The lip color wasn't long-lasting. She gave me a tiny sample for touch-ups but honestly, it wasn't enough. Anyway once I was done I waited for my partner to pick me up. You wouldn't believe it but I overheard them talking bad about me and laughing like mean high schoolers. So unprofessional! I was sitting next to their booth with a white sheer curtain between us. They couldn't wait until I left!? At first, I was like "This is going well, I like my makeup and I will come back" but I was in shock and was deeply hurt after what they said. And the twist is Samantha is the owner. read more

There were 5 of us bridesmaids and the Brushed team came to us at the church where we were getting ready. They were extremely professional and arrived on time at 5am. I've had bad experiences in the past with getting my makeup done so I was a little nervous about having my makeup professionally done again. The makeup artist I had was so kind and she knew exactly what colors would work well with my skin-tone. My hair and makeup stayed put for over 10 hours and I felt fabulous! I went to brushed to get a blowout and have my makeup done for a photo shoot. Lauren was the stylist that did my blowout, and she was an absolute delight. She was so friendly and nice, conversation flowed between us naturally the whole time I was in her chair. I asked her for a curly style with a lot of volume and she definitely delivered. I will definitely come back to her again for a special occasion and even just for an everyday look. I highly recommend her. Samantha was the artist that did my makeup and she was also great. I asked for a cut crease look with a matte finish and it was exactly what I asked for. She took her time applying the makeup and my skin looked great. I definitely got a "glow up" from Samantha and she too was good company. I would certainly use her again for a special occasion. Overall, very happy with my experience. I visited Oklahoma City recently to attend the wedding of my best friend's daughter. Scheduled an appointment with someone at Brushed and my appointment got changed at the last minute. The person who supposedly knew how to do an updo did a terrible job, so I had her redo the entire updo a second time. Apparently, she had no idea how to do one. I left the hair salon in total embarrassment, had to redo the hair myself and wasted $100. I DO NOT recommend this place. read more

After I moved to Edmond in early 2017, I still come here for my one and only favorite hair stylist Cassidy. I've always gone to her because she keeps my hair looking the best! I've been going to Mary T. for over 10 years and she is hands-down the best hair stylist I know! When it comes to coloring hair, it seems like there isn't anything she can't do! She takes her time and she truly tries to get EXACTLY what you want. Before I met her, I had gone to many different salons to try and achieve the hair colors I want and Mary is the only one who gets it done. I understand that my hair is a huge challenge to deal with. My hair is sooooo thick and because I've colored it so many times, it's a challenge to color it from one shade to another. Brushed is my favorite salon in town! I've gotten haircuts here from Kristin and Lyric, and both are excellent. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff are beyond friendly. I had a blowout with Kat last Friday afternoon. I have no idea what anti-humidity products she used, but my hair did not fizz at all during the humid thunderstorms. I went to a wedding Saturday evening and my hair was still in tact. Kat was great to talk to and get to know. I will continue to come here when I am in OKC. I had my hair and make up done here for my sister's wedding - and like most weddings had to get it done hours before the event. The artist who did it- did a good job- unfortunately the make up and hair did not last - The "heavy" blush applied was pretty light when applied and non existent 2 hours after application (my friend had to reapply) and lipstick disappeared almost immediately. The lashes used are also the really tacky and fake looking- there are seriously much more natural ones out there. these were pretty tacky and I for sure would have stuck with my own if I know what they used. My hair came out of the bun but prob my own fault- I had to put my outfit on after hair and makeup so I'm guessing I bumped the bun. The artist was also not exactly receptive to suggestions- when I asked if I could use a heavier coverage makeup or maybe a primer since there are so many pics and the event was so much later- that did not go over well! Summary- updo and full face makeup that is great if you are getting it done for an event immediately following but would not recommend for a wedding or event hours after (I had to re- apply and redo most of it). read more

I am very disappointed in the unprofessionalism of this salon. I purchased a gift certificate at a charity auction for a blow-out at Brushed (less than a year ago) and when I tried to use it, the salon would not honor it because the stylist that signed the certificate no longer works there. In my opinion, the auction package was for a blow-out at Brushed. The package was advertised for Brushed. I am really not sure why they would not honor it, but I can assure you, I will never give this salon my business and I will spread the word about this incident to all of my friends that also enjoy a good blow-dry. read more

I think I'm addicted. I have been three times now with three different hairstylists and every single time left 100% satisfied. Not only do they do a great job on hair (I prefer getting a customized blow-out, wash and style, $35) but the customer service is amazing as well. Everyone there has been super friendly, bubbly, and listens to even the weirdest requests for hair dos. I absolutely have no idea how to explain I want curly but not too curly, and they always seem to get it right on point. Blow-outs last multiple days and are an amazing deal at the price. They also always offer wine or bottled water while you're enjoying your session as well. 2nd off, THE CLOTHES. Could they not have curated a more perfect selection? Everytime I'm getting my blow-out, I'm gazing in wonder at all of the clothes, always such a unique and hip selection. Perfect if you've got a big event coming up - get your hair done, get a new outfit, look beautiful. Dry/Shop blow dry bar in Midtown can take good care of your 'do! I ran in here last week, and I can't tell you how cute this shop is. The tall ceilings, bright colors and floor to ceiling fabric panels make this place look huge and so fancy. A customized blow-out and style is $35, while an upstyle is $50. They even have a braid bar - $5 and up for braids with or without a blow-out. So fun! But I think a blow-out is more than just fun. Sometimes, it is a lifesaver sent right from the heavens above. If you're very busy at all, if it takes you an hour to blow out your own hair, I recommend giving this a try. With a fully-charged phone, I can respond to countless emails, texts and facebook messages while I sit in the chair, and sometimes it's stuff I can't normally get to/choose not to do when sitting at my desk. You can save anywhere from $15-$45 for buying a package. If I were independently wealthy, I'd pay $400 for unlimited blow-outs for one month and only take baths for the rest of my life! I didn't realize until recently that Dry/Shop also sold clothing, accessories, cosmetics, lotions and more, in addition to their amazing roster of services. Hence the name, Dry/Shop. I give the atmosphere a 5 star. Super cute place! Has a cute boutique in the front with clothes and other things. The girls were friendly but I can't say I really got a good blow out. I asked for a volume blow out and she was blow drying my hair downward ... Needless to say, it came out pretty flat. I wasn't offered anything to drink when I came in. The counter where the girls works was a disaster. Still had products and utensils from previous clients all over the place. She told me to put my jacket on the counter and I had to place it on top of blow dryers lol. We got a head massage package and I think my niece can massage better. They really do an amazing job of making you feel like a new person by the time you leave. The second time I went, I scheduled a dry updo for an event. I went in with absolutely no idea of what I wanted my hair to look like. My stylist walked me through some options, tried to get any ideas I had out of me... like straight or curly.. and then she went to work. She did a beautiful updo with a side bun and she made my bun look huge... I don't have enough hair for a huge bun but somehow she pulled it off. If you have been thinking about trying the Dry Shop... I'm giving this place two stars for the following reasons: - The friendliness of their staff needs a lot of work. I took a friend here yesterday because she had never been. We weren't greeted the entire time we were there, nor did they say goodbye as we were leaving. - their clothes are way overpriced. I understand that their main business isn't selling clothing, but even their gift items are a little crazy. $60 for a candle...? Is that necessary? I have shirt from Dry/Shop and it was ruined the first time I washed it. Apparently there was a hot pink stitching on the inside of the shirt that I didn't notice until after I washed it. The hot pink bled all over the shirt. I wash all of my clothes on cold, and hang dry my nice tops. That was a waste of $65! I will say that I've had my hair done here before and was greatly impressed with the stylist. However, she went to another salon and I have followed her there. read more

I scheduled an appointment roughly 1 month out for a cut a color. The week before my appointment I received 2 phone calls to confirm my appointment but I was at work and didn't have time to return the calls immediately. After work I called and confirmed my appointment with the receptionist. The following day I got another phone call saying they were cancelling my appointment because they hadn't heard from me. Very poor communication between staff!! If you go here, make back up plans to have your hair done elsewhere as they may suddenly cancel your appointment that you'd confirmed. read more

That being said, I absolutely loved the service that Rebecca provided. I had gone there for lash extension fill and not only was she accommodating to my schedule, but she also made the session enjoyable. She used her expertise to make sure I got exactly what I wanted and made sure that every detail was perfect. I also appreciated that she was a perfectionist like myself. We came to have our hair done for bachelorette party. The hair stylist were amazing! Friendly and did great job on our hair.. However the front receptionist was not accommodating and incredibly rude. We could not find the location and where 11 minutes late for our appointment instead of making us feel welcome and make us feel like they would work with us she was incredibly rude. One of our girls had her hair washed and blow dried but then was told she could not have her hair styled due to running out of time but she was charged full price... Multiple girls tried to talk to the front staff and she was not budging we were also told when confirming our appointment it would be at 1;00 but when we arrived our appointments where at different times which put our day behind! My best friend and I went on Saturday expecting to have an awesome experience, based on dry bar experiences in Dallas. We were so disappointed. Our stylits never introduced themselves, they just said sit, follow me, and shampoo? The shampoo experience wasn't great at all, we expected a good long scrub, what we got was a half assed semi scrub. We both got our heads burned from the hair dryers and had weird funky curls when we left, we both ended up pinning our dirty feeling hair up to go out Saturday night. I wouldn't recommend for any brides or bridal party... I had a few services done at Dry Shop as a bride. I chose Dry Shop because all of my hotel guests from out of town and the bridal party and I were staying at the Ambassador Hotel next door, so for convenience purposes it made since. My first experience was when I came to book my trial run for two weeks before the wedding. Upon entering the place looked great and a fun place for my friends and I to be the day of the wedding getting ready. I was greeted by a not so friendly receptionist and the three girls standing behind her who were hair stylist on break I am assuming, she took down all my information and I set up all of the appointments for the day of wedding for my bridesmaids and I as well. The day before the trial run I called to confirm my appointments for hair and make up and they said it wasn't on the books. This should have been my first red flag- seeing that I scheduled my trial run the same day as my Bridal Portraits it stressed me out. They ended up sorting out the issue and called me back with my appointment now confirmed. The next day I had my hair done and it was 'okay'. I showed her several pictures and requested something half up half down with a vintage look to it. To me it looked like a frizzy mess and she just kept hair spraying, which four hours later when I had the portraits done in Oklahoma heat it turned in to a mess. The make up was done by Sam, who they use as their freelance make up artist. Both services cost me with tip that day $190.00- which is insane for a trial run. Then comes the week of the wedding when I call to confirm all the appointments for the bridal party and I day of. Once again, they said they didn't have the appointments written down and would need to call me back once they got it sorted out and on top of that the stylist who did my trial run had left the shop and now I needed to do the trial run again with a new hair stylist before the day of appointment. I had the trial done on Thursday night before my Friday wedding, which just added to the last minute stress and kept me from hanging out with people who were pouring into town. On Friday, we all walked in and were immediately greeted by a group of grumpy girls behind the receptionist desk who said they would be the ones helping us... Their attitudes were a total buzz kill. My hair was another $120.00 with tip day of and then make up through Sam was $140.00 with tip when I had the same thing done as the other bridesmaids and theirs was $75...? All in all this place is over priced, they aren't friendly, they are obviously unorganized, and for a bridal party I definitely wouldn't recommend. And my hair didn't hold up at all, I had to have my mom re do it before I even walked down the aisle and then the whole reception it fell flat and was a hair sprayed mess. So disappointed with my hair and the way pictures turned out. read more

I went to Dry/Shop for the first time today, and I'm incredibly impressed. The space is airy and open, and I loved my stylist, Kristin. I'd previously been to other blow-out chains in New York, and this was an even better experience - great (gentle) styling, lovely soft curls, and wonderful smelling products.
