We love Marianne's but Bruster's has more of everything in the ice cream. We were joyously surprised by how excellent the ice cream was, smooth and filled with goodies. Excellent chocolate chips that melt in your mouth instead of waxy. Our group tried the Black Raspberry, Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, Black Cherry Chocolate Chunk, and Jamaican Me Crazy. We were all VERY happy with the selection and will definitely return! Our new favorite ice cream shop on the coast. read more

Went to Bruster's for the first time. I had a coconut with fudge and nuts. It was amazing! The staff were very kind, patient, and helpful. A very generous portion and reasonably priced. I can't wait to go back and try some more flavors. Even joined the Rewards Program! read more

We gave it a try. I ordered 2 scoops and the husband ordered 3 scoops. My scoops looked like "kid" scoops whereas my husband's was full adult size. Very disappointed. I'll be going back to Marianne's for my ice cream addiction. Plus the flavors were not any different or the consistency of the ice cream. read more

This place has the most obnoxious girl at counter claiming to be in charge.... Totally unorganized and never stocked with listed flavors on menu. I have frequently gone there to support the new business, however with the rudeness experienced recently will not be going back. The new owners need to be made aware of this behavior in order to get this place back on track. read more

Mike B. was rightly not served in a professional manner. I was a few orders behind him and saw that he and his wife and grandson had been waiting for a while. He finally approached the "supervisor" to find out the status of his order. They seemed to have "lost it". With only one person serving a rush around 6:00PM on Thursday, 01-Sep-2022, it might seem that orders might take a little time. I saw two orders, processed in front of mine when Mike B. went to ask about the status of his order. They had been waiting for over 30 minutes before they saw other orders being served. They could not find his ticket. They had them recite the order which they wrote on the outside of a paper bag. He repeatedly asked to speak to the manager. After two attempts, they called out "Angel" who tried to work with the customer. At this time, they only offered to give Mike B a refund. The "manager" was able to find the charge he made on his credit/debit card. I observed "Angel" and other staff hanging out in the back and not offering to help the surge of customers trying to place orders. Even "Angel" was observed making "their" own desert while the other server was struggling in trying to deal with the orders that she was processing. I know that one family just walked away when there was no one taking orders for myself and the customer behind me. It was repeatably mentioned that they were short staffed but it was clear that I saw three other people in the back "hanging out". For me, the only reason I frequent this business is that my wife (who seems to be lactose intolerant) cannot handle ice cream from Marianne's nor the sorbets at Penny Ice Creamery in Aptos Village. Because of this incident and other customer service issues, I will be contacting Marianne's to see if they can use Oat Milk as a non-dairy option. I want to support local but the customer service needs to improve at Bruster's or they are going to drive more customer's away. read more

Not very satisfied. girl with long red braids obnoxiously talking to the boy "friend" who was taking my family's order. Physically grabbed his ear and told us to wait as she whispered to him. Later on as she was scooping ice cream, her hair, although in a ponytail, was barely pulled back and could very possibly be loose enough to be getting in the ice cream as she was leaning forward. She used vulgar langue towards her co-worker telling him to, "shove this cone up your ass." I was appalled to say the least. Teens with no care about customer service, not reprimanded by other adult staff. Ice cream was decent, but overall would not bring my children for another visit. Bruster's ice cream is in a league of its own! Took all the littles after track and soccer practice and we tried 5 different flavors. My favorites were the cotton candy explosion (with real pop rocks) and the vegan mint chip. My son is lactose intolerant and it's nearly impossible to get a truly creamy dairy free ice cram. Not sure how they pulled it off but the oat milk mint chip and the peanut butter were as creamy as any dairy ice cream we've tried. 10/10 we'll be back for more next week. With a birthday coming up we'll be checking out the ice cream cakes! read more

We stopped in at Bruster's when we were visiting the area. It was our first time and we found out they have been open for about a month. We talked to the owner and he was super friendly and made sure we had a spectacular visit. There are so many flavors to choose from, including some sorbets and vegan flavors. You can get scoops, cones, shakes, and even cakes! My husband tried a scoop of the Oreo mint, I tried the strawberry and the mint chocolate chip, our four year old tried the chocolate and vanilla, and our dog even had a doggie Sunday! Everything was absolutely amazing! The flavors were perfect, it was creamy and soft. Our daughter had the baby cone (a free small cone for small children of under a certain height). The ordering is outdoor (they also have an online order feature), there's a nice outdoor seating area, and a app rewards program! I cannot stress enough how wonderful our experience was. We will be back several times during our stay, and into the future. We found our new favorite ice cream spot! read more
