There aren't too many places like the left around that bring back those nostalgic old school memories.... yes, this place did that, which was a nice temporary distraction. In fact, we were staying at a hotel nearby and the restaurant server highly recommended this place for a great burger..... so, on our second day visiting Aptos, we decided to check this place out. Service is very friendly, the place does have a cool nostalgic feel to it, but I think the good old days are pretty much gone, and I suspect, so has the quality of the food here because, it was honestly only ok. So, my wife loves a good burger, and so naturally, she ordered the hamburger combination, which came with a small bag of fries and a drink, and I ordered the fish sandwich combo. My wife was actually pretty disappointed with her burger... all she'd tell me was that it was ok, with a bit of a disappointed look on her face. To make things worse, the fries were luke warm. My fish sandwich was actually not that bad... nice flaky white fish with a nice light crunchy fried breading on the outside, sitting inside between a nice warm bun. However, my fries were luke warm too. I think the highlight of our dine in lunch experience was the side order of fried onion rings... they tasted quite good, were still quite hot, and they weren't oily. I can see how this place can still be popular for those who want a quick take away bite to eat, but if you're truly looking for a great tasting quality burger or sandwich, this is likely not the place to find it. We came here wanting to enjoy a small burger joint that had the charm of an old school 70s drive in. The place definitely looks the part and gives off a fun nostalgic vibe. The food was decent, but we were really taken aback by the prices. For just two meals, the total came out to over forty dollars, which felt excessive. On top of that, the service didn't feel very welcoming. It almost felt like we were expected to be grateful just to be there. With other options nearby, it's hard to justify coming back. Betty's Burgers by New Leaf Market offers great burgers at a much more reasonable price and with a friendlier attitude. Well shoot it's disappointing to review this place... where do I start... I remember eating at here when I was a kid and we would be so stoked then when I was a teen we would drive down and get a number 1 cheese burger we're never a disappointment same with the shakes I took my family the other day and yes I was super shocked on the prices but hey you get what you pay for right? WRONG the cheese burger was so small and super then meat patty the lettuce was turning the bun was ugh I'm posting a picture it sucks I hope they can change they would get more customers if the owners were willing to spend some money and spruce up the place and start taking some pride in their business. I grew up in Aptos, and this place has been around for as long as I can remember. It has an iconic In-n-Out-esque red, yellow, and white sign that I've driven by more times in my life than I can count. My folks still live locally so we come down to visit as often as possible. We generally have our favorite places, but for some reason this past trip we were talking about Sno-White and decided to try it since none of us could recall ever going. LOCATION: -Right off State Park Dr. in Aptos near the entrance to Seacliff State Beach. Across the street from Marianne's Ice Cream. PARKING: -Parking is easy and plentiful. They have a large lot they share with the liquor store and when we went there were tons of spaces available. STAFF: -There was a woman taking the orders who seemed to be a manager or owner. She was able to answer our questions about the menu, though wasn't overly friendly or inviting. The other staff I noticed was a younger kid, high school aged who was nice. DINING: -As of October 2021 they are currently open for indoor dining and have several tables out front for outdoor dining as well. FOOD: -We ordered 2 bacon cheese burgers ($9.59/ea), a Jr. burger ($3.95), an order of fries (M - $3.15, L - $4.15), onion rings ($4.15) and a chocolate shake (SM - $4.50, L - $5.15). -The burgers were ok at best. The patties didn't taste fresh and there wasn't any particularly good flavor or grilled taste. Seemed like it was frozen and closer to something I would find at a McDonalds. It came on a sesame bun that wasn't in great shape either. The bacon was decent, but also not great quality. -The sides were actually fire, and the best part of the meal! The onion rings had great flavor and were cooked well to the point that when you bite into them, it doesn't fall apart or the whole onion doesn't come out of the breading. The fries were also really good. Not to compare everything to McDonald's, but they were similar to those in size, shape, taste, and even how some of them get a little soft and mushy (this time it's a compliment). -Hard to rate the milkshake, my dad ordered it extra THIN, however when the kid put it in the window for pick-up, he called out "chocolate milkshake, extra THICK". My dad is very particular about how he likes his shakes, basically slightly thicker than chocolate milk. This was the exact opposite, where he wasn't even able to sip it because it was so thick. Not sure if it was a miscommunication or what, but he's not the kind of guy who will say something or ask for it to be fixed, so he ended up just adding milk and thinning it up himself once we got home. He said the flavor was good, but was annoying to have to do the extra work to get what he initially ordered. OVERALL: -Am I glad I finally tried this place? Yes. Would I come back? Probably not. As mentioned, the sides were bomb, so if I was ever in the mood for some fries or onions rings and was in that area, then yeah. However, with better quality options in the area, I can't see myself getting a burger from here again. It does have cool old-school drive-in vibes though! read more

This was a favorite Americana oldies food place that I love to stop at when I was in college. And that was 10 years ago, the prices are not as bad considering the inflation of cost everywhere. And I love that they still dump all the fries into the bag, so you always get more. Also, unlike McDonald fries, they do not get stale two minutes after you get them. You can get reasonably priced ice cream compared to the place across the street Plus there's way more parking. If you like soft serve ice cream like I do you must try their chocolate cones. These are the third Best I've found on my travels, a very close 2nd. Rated number 3 on my list. Good chocolate soft serve is extremely hard to find. Not every place offers it. If you have any any recommendations let me know! My husband loves fresh banana shakes and he said theirs is good, rated number 3 on his list. This is a good place to get a burger, corn dog, fries or a soft-served ice cream (dipped). Service is a bit slow but what's the rush. The real secret is breakfast. This place is hopping with contractors getting breakfast in the morning so I had to check it out. They know a great deal. We now make this our breakfast stop every weekend. The Big Breakfast or Pancake Breakfast is a lot of food for a low price. The egg sausage sandwich is similar to McD (maybe a bit more expensive) but as there is no fast food chains in Aptos - so this make Sno-White the stopping point for a quick morning meal. read more
