This is one of my favorite ice cream shops. The flavors are varied and the portions are large. They make the best waffle cones and waffle cups. The service is always very friendly and the store seems clean. I have used the on-line ordering a few times and it works like a dream, especially during busy times. Our favorite flavor lately is the Graham Central Station with a scoop of good ole chocolate and the the Chocolate Brownie. I highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

My friends and I went strawberry picking nearby this past Sunday afternoon and wanted some ice cream afterwards. There was a line of people waiting to order ice cream, so always a good sign. There's no indoor seating but there are a few tables outside along with benches at the plaza. KIDS' CUP (1 SCOOP) - 4.35 I got a scoop of pistachio and it had a good amount of pistachios in my ice cream. I'm glad that the pistachios were still pretty crunchy/nutty and not soggy after sitting in ice cream. The ice cream itself was smooth and enjoyable. Nothing to rave about, but the pricing is fair and even a single scoop was more than enough ice cream for me. My friends enjoyed their ice cream scoops and milkshakes. Came here with some family to grab a little ice cream for some after dinner dessert. There was a bunch of people outside so you could already assume its pretty good. Expect long lines at the order window on weekends. We got the a waffle cone of the Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeye to share. They are pretty quick with getting the orders out despite the large amount of people. It was a pretty good sized amount for the two of us. This one star is due to the service. I (female poc) came to brusters with 2 of my female friends (poc) on 1/3/2026 at 9:30 pm . We stood at the order window for several minutes while 2 girls inside the shop clearly saw us and ignored us. We were outwardly discussing if the shop was open or if we were standing at the incorrect window because of how clearly the girls were ignoring us. We even tried walking to different windows. As we continued discussing if they were open two white women came up to the window and were immediately greeted and served. After this the girls working still did not address us at all. We were so shocked by the rude service and honestly insulted so we left. I hate to bring race into this but it seems like the only difference between us not getting served and the women who were is that we're black. In protest, we went to the leesburg brusters where we had GREAT service by two lovely young ladies of the same age. I hope brusters doesn't condone young racists. I've emailed the management at that location and I will update if effort to remedy the situation is made. Very disappointed. read more

After lunch I took the kids to an ice cream shop. We just asked Siri and she listed off a few places. Third on the list was Bruster's with a 4.5 star rating. My son (the ice cream connoisseur) widened his eyes and gave me a look. I knew what that meant. Very impressive Ice cream. I had a small waffle cone with a Dark Chocolate Graham and he had Mint Chocolate Chip. They even had a special baby cone for River that was complimentary. The staff was very kind. Reasonably priced, quickly prepared and tasted great. I haven't eaten that much ice cream in one sitting for months, and I didn't even finish mine. The Dark Chocolate was not too incredibly sweet like most ice cream. It was smooth and I could taste the graham component very distinctly from the waffle cone. This was also River's first personal cone. Vanilla with sprinkles. She really enjoyed it as the pictures showed. She also learned what happens when you don't pay attention and dropped it. I didn't catch the tantrum on camera but I'll tell ya it was exactly like your imagining. Cute and terrifying all at the same time Overall, I definitely recommend this place. This is the best ice cream in the Ashburn area. Hands down. Chain or no chain. This is just good ice cream. And I am a big fan of dozens of flavors offered at one time. If you can't find a flavor you like here, then you just don't like ice cream. If you can't drive to Point of Rocks to visit Rocky Point, or Great Falls to go to GF Creamery, or down 15 to go to the Moo Thru, then this is your best bet for delicious ice cream. Was visiting the Dollar Tree store next door with my mom and saw an outdoor ice cream place really poppin with customers! It's located at the corner of the shopping plaza, servicing outdoor orders. There is lots of space and outdoor seating, and I have seen families bring lawn chairs or sit on the side walks to eat their ice creams. The atmosphere felt like total beach vacation vibes; as if you were hanging out with your friends and at a beach boardwalk AND BRO LOTS OF CUTE DOGGOS TOO Ice creams my friends and I ordered was the Mint Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Chocolate Marshmellow and Vanilla. The Mint Chocolate Chip is what I ordered! Simple but delicious. The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is what my boyfriend got, and he said it was good, especially with the chocolate chips and cookie dough chunks. Lastly, the Chocolate Marshmellow and Vanilla had the marshmellow infused with the chocolate, where you can taste the sweet marshmellow mixed with the chocolate flavor. And the vanilla is vanilla. A wonderful treat on a hot summer day. I was craving ice cream and wanted a different brand but my husband recommended Bruster's so decided to give it a try. They have really nice outdoor seating and they have a marking to maintain distance, which is highly appreciated. All the employees were wearing a mask and they were extremely polite. They have a bunch of flavors but I decided to go with a scoop of turtle ice cream and sea salt caramel. I got one scoop each and both flavors tasted delicious. Sea salt caramel was perfect, Turtle flavor had pecans in it. The ice cream was rich, super yummy, and totally worth the calories. I will be skipping dinner tonight but oh well! read more

I am an ice cream fanatic, so much so that I keep a list of the 100 best ice cream shops in the USA on my phone and it is my goal to try all of them. I have about 68 to go! I first tried Bruster's when my kids played sporting events near JMU and I really loved it- especially the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle and the Choc. peanut butter w/ Buckeyes, both outstanding flavors. I have long missed having good ice cream here in Asburn and I suffered through the froyo craze that ended up closing some good ice cream/custard shops here in Ashburn (the homemade ice cream shop that used to be in the Ashburn Village shopping center about 15 years ago, along with Milwaukee Frozen Custard, where Jersey Mike's and Sweet Frog are now. I was thrilled when Bruster's came to Ashburn, and hoped it was as good as I remember...and it is! As soon as Bruster's opened, I began an exercise program to keep me from weighing 400 lbs within a year and it is worth the work for that tasty treat. The Ashburn location is terrific, it's in a great spot (bring your dogs out!) and you almost always run into someone you know there. The staff are always great and smiling, the line moves quickly, and the flavors are all great. As an ice cream expert, I test every new place I go by getting a good old fashioned hot fudge sundae, and Bruster's is very good. The hot fudge is delicious, very smooth with a great taste. I've earned a lot of points using the Bruster's app and I'm sure I'll continue to pile them up. If I had one quibble with Bruster's, it's that the sundae only comes in one size and I find it to be a little small. I wish there was a 3 scoop sundae available like most other places. Beyond that, I'll be there many, many, times and I look forward to the texts I get telling me my favorite flavor has been made. I love Busters and was happy to see one in Ashburn. They have great ice cream and the time I stopped here, the people working here were super friendly and helpful. Only thing I wish, as weird as it may sound, for the blasts. Put a bit less candy in them. I got a crunch blast and it was like 80% candy and 20% ice cream it felt like. I love crunch and happy when there is good amount, but your ice cream is great, no need to put so much candy in the blast that it takes away after from the enjoyment of your ice cream. read more

Every time I come here it's disappointing, most of the staff can not make the ice cream correctly. I literally watch this girl struggle making a blast mix in and I asked for extra topping. I waiting for 10 minutes as this girl tries to figure out how to make my blast. Plus she checked her phone every 2 seconds while making my blast. There needs to be an adult managing these teenagers. Just went today! Decent ice cream and portion for what I paid for. The only problem I noticed is that they don't really have a solid system when calling out orders. Some were saying the ice cream and some were saying the name of the person who order so I some confusion as customers went to grab their ice cream. Worker was a bit snippy but it's grand opening and also they were busy so I'll let it slide. But overall I would go again and see what else I can try! read more

We've been to Bruster's twice now and it's okay. I suppose I had high expectations from all the hype. The first time, I was not at all impressed. On that first visit, I found the ice cream totally bland and flavorless. On the second visit, the banana pudding and the coconut cream pie flavors were both very good. Both occasions I found the texture of the ice cream very smooth, and it starts to melt quickly. Once again though, the wait... It was good, but I'm not sure it was so good to justify waiting in line that long. The staff are very friendly and eager to please. The prices are very reasonable for the HUGE amount of ice cream they give you. Maybe the novelty will wear off and there won't be such long lines in the future. read more

Visited yesterday and although they had two very long lines to order, both moved very quickly. Now onto the best part - the ice cream! I got three pints and a package of ice cream sandwiches to go. Since a couple of the pints were for my parents, I didn't get to try those flavors but if they're anything like the pint of "turtle" I got - I know they'll be amazing! The ice cream is handmade, and you can definitely tell it's great quality. The creamy texture is perfect and the "turtle" flavor I tried is the best combination of salty and sweet. Oh and if you have a pup or a toddler they get a free mini cup of ice cream; such a perfect way to enjoy a hot summer day!
