Bruster's has good ice cream. I love the cake batter flavor. It is creamy and full of flavor. Their ice cream cakes are delicious as well. I've tried a milkshake from this location and it was gross. I had ordered a chocolate milk shake and it only tasted like milk. I could not taste the chocolate at all. It was a waste of $5 (I ordered a large). The price is also a little expensive for all items. I like their ice cream but the price keeps me from going often. read more

Best damn ice cream!!! hands up in dismay to anyone who says otherwise. All the flavors have giant chunks of whatever is in them, in them. The peanut butter bullseye has massive pieces of chocolate peanut butter filled domes the cookies and cream has half cookies that make cold stone look like SAMs choice ice cream. Ice cream tastes fresh and homemade. The service speed was average and employees were friendly. No indoor sitting area to eat but that goes for all Brusters by design. In my opinion not a ton of "special/exclusive" ice cream flavors...they have the basics and a few unique flavors but that's it. The ice cream is a bit pricey...my husband and I paid $9.80 for two medium waffle cones. Nice touch to offer fresh local strawberries in season to flavor of the week. For the kids, they get free small cones with candy eyes under a certain height. I got the chocolate mint ice cream. It had big chips of chocolate and a nice smooth minty taste. Others in our party got sea salt caramel and peach melba all good seasonal favorites. I'm updating my review after visits the past 2 weeks. Starting off, yes the ice cream is good and the times we have gone around noon have been great. The last 3 times we have gone in the evening the night workers seem more interested in talking amongst themselves than actually making sure orders are taken in a decent amount of time. On this last trip the woman in front of me ordered 2 scoops of vanilla in a bowl but instead got 1 scoop of chocolate in a waffle cone. If they were busy I would be more understanding as to how you can get customer's orders wrong but there is no excuse when there are only 2 people waiting to order ice cream. Additionally the young lady who seems to be in charge at night, or thinks that she is, needs some extreme work with customer-employee interactions. Her tone and demeanor is condescending and rude. Bruster's has a list of flavors outside the window for what is available today and in the past few visits they have had additional flavors beyond what is listed on the board. When I asked the young lady at the window if they had a particular flavor her response was sarcastically "is it on the board?". While I enjoy having someone question my ability to read when all I want is some ice cream it begs two questions: 1) do the workers not have a list / knowledge of what ice creams are available that day or do they rely on the customers to tell them what is on "the board" 2) why would you assume that I did not look at your list of flavors, clearly I'm asking if you have any stored in the back / leftover (which has been the case a few times). Again to reiterate, great ice cream but the night crew and younger employees definitely need some coaching on customer interaction and focusing on the task at hand. read more

Love this place - their ice cream is delicious. My favorite flavors are regular cake batter and chocolate cake batter, and Oreo. The ice cream is consistently delicious, and my dog loves the doggie sundaes that they provide. They also offer great coupons in local mailers and via their emails. read more

Would've given 0 stars if possible but we went here when we thought you get half off but really it's a free extra scoop when it's raining and we went and the employee Hannah said that was correct and then we ordered and then the manager came up and disrespectfully yelled at the employee saying "we haven't done that in years" we felt so bad for the employee! Different flavors, moderate prices and decent portions. Thought the service was a little rushed. They seemed to think you will all be regulars or automatically know what you would like, we did the appropriate thing by standing a far, so not to hold any lines. Just strange. We enjoyed our cones and feel single scoops are enough for us, plus any more and it could be potentially very pricey for quality. Will keep in our rotation for quick dessert. May get hairy if gong through drive-thru with multiple orders/flavors. Would recommend ordering at the window for that. read more

I am from out of town and drove through the drive through, paid cash and ordered 4 ice creams and they charged me for 5! I thought it was quite expensive but didn't get to look at my receipt until I got home. The service was so slow and the girls working there were quite apathetic. Talk about having to loosen your belt. This place has THE best black cherry ice cream. Which until last year I didn't even know what my favorite. I tried it because I wanted something different and have fallen in love. You can buy ice cream by the scoop, pint, quart, or gallon. And o have to admit that I've gotten a gallon before. I was a little disappointed when the first gallon I ever got didn't have any black cherries but the ice cream still tasted delicious and when I let them know they quickly offered me another gallon free of charge. It was so slow that I asked the girl behind the counter if I was even in the right line because the other line was moving so much faster. I was disappointed tonight that due to the rise of Covid and more so during the holidays you would expect that staff would take safety precaution and wear a mask. It wasn't until after I paid that I noticed the scoopers didn't have on masks but happily asked for a tip. smh! If I could give this place -5 stars I would. Horrible experience Owner beyond rude. Ordered the warm chocolate chip cookie sundae. The cookie wasn't warm and wasn't fresh. The young lady that was waiting on me said she would remake it. The owner was not happy about it she gave me major attitude. I told her I never had a problem at the location in Matthews she told me to go there and said there's a DQ down the street. She called me an idiot and I called her an A$$. I paid for 3 orders of ice cream. One of which was for my son he had his and was eating it. I told the owner to give me my money back for the two that I had not received. First, she said I hadn't even paid, which was ridiculous I had the receipt to prove it and the teller request payment prior to starting on my order. I told her how rude she was and I thought I was patronizing a family friendly restaurant. When I reiterated that I wanted my money back for the ice cream I didn't receive she said "happily" and then said "give me that back too" she gestured towards my 12 yr old son that was eating his ice cream on the side of the window. He stepped back with the bowl in his hand but had he not reacted so quickly she would have literally snatched the bowl out of his hand. The woman who I believe to be the owner was around 50 years old. I was appalled. She even said she would call the cops. I asked her for what reason? I asked her what crime had been committed that would warrant a call to the cops? I said what are you going to tell them. "I paid for ice cream" I have a receipt" and you haven't given me my money". She finally walked away from the counter and another woman ended up refunding my money. The experience at this Brusters was horrific. I just relocated to this area from Matthews the person/(s) running this establishment are nothing like the people in Matthews. I wish there was a sign up that said "I only want people who look like me to come to my place of business" I would have happily obliged by staying far away. I would have loved to have avoided ever seeing or encountering such a vile person. Spend your money elsewhere. read more
