I've had this place bookmarked for a while. We did not get into the recent Yelp elite event, but after seeing pictures and reading reviews, I knew we definitely wanted to try their ice cream. The place is located south of Publix on the east side of Military trail. It's take out only as there is no inside seating -- only a bench and a couple tables outside next to the shop. You order at the window. The menu and list of flavors is posted up top. You pay and then go around the corner to another window to pick up your treats. My husband got a strawberry malt. It was very good. The ices had plenty of real strawberry seeds. Not fake, he said. I got a kiddie cup -- that is, one scoop, of coconut chip. The coconut ice cream was very good. The chips were bits of chocolate throughout. We sat on the bench outside as the two covered tables outside were occupied. Bruster's is a great ice cream shop, with a walk up window in a shopping center. There are some tables and benches outside, but no indoor access. The staff were very friendly, offering up tastes of any flavor. The sizes are huuuge! I got the 3 scoop medium in a waffle bowl and it was absolutely overflowing with giant scoops. What can I say about this place? The service was exceptionally friendly. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. The shop was spotless, and I loved that the entire production area was visible. Everything is made on-site, from the waffle cones in all their varieties to the ice cream itself. We ordered Black Cherry, Mint Chocolate Chip, Key Lime Pie, Death by Chocolate, and Vanilla. My favorite was definitely the Death by Chocolate. It had been years since I'd had a chocolate ice cream that rich and delicious. Upon walking up, Tim greeted me and was super kind! He told me about the place, how they serve fresh ice cream and make it in-house. He immediately asked what I wanted to sample and seemed excited for me to try different flavors which was great energy! I tried the chocolate covered banana (with nuts), death by chocolate, and the mint chocolate chip oat milk flavors. All three were delicious... that death by chocolate was so so good with the mixed in pieces. I got all 3 scoops in a medium bowl and devoured it. My daughter picked up this cake after work and surprised me with the icecream cake from brusters. She knew I loved the fresh icecream and I wanted to try the cake for other occasions but the cake needs to be ordered a few days in advance as it needs time to set so it was not possible. She was able to order online this time. The frosting was a bit runny but the coffee chip didn't fail. Cake feeds 10-12 so the 5 of us were careful to eat exactly half. The fresh ice cream, made daily on site, is as good as the Ice Cream Club. My scientific inquiry included scoops of: butter pecan, mint chocolate chip and death by chocolate. All three were rich and creamy, making it easy to skip dinner. The service was very nice. The man who served me suggested that I bring a banana on Thursdays and get a banana split half off. There are also BOGO specials from time to time. Bruster's is reasonably priced. Three scoops usually cost $6.99. Many ice cream parlors charge that, or more, for a single scoop. My only quibble is that there is no inside seating. There is an outdoor courtyard with tables, chairs, benches and big red umbrellas. The seating area was clean and comfortable to sit down and enjoy my sweet treat. I got a medium waffle bowel with a choice of 3 flavors. I really enjoyed the ice cream here, I got three scoops in a waffle cone bowl and it was so rich and delicious . I could not finish there, I took home and ate over the course of three days, I still have one scoop left! The only downside is that this location is not close to where I live. Service was fast and friendly, and they gave generous scoops. I got the graham central station, which was my favorite, followed by the pineapple upside down cake which was my 2nd favorite. Am reviewing this from the pint of view of somebody who cannot eat dairy (it's more than just lactose issue so I have to have vegan products) my husband and I stopped in this afternoon as he saw the store and really wanted ice cream. We noticed that there were a total of about six different non-dairy options - which I loved as I get tired of just seeing raspberry sorbet as the only vegan option. I read the options - raspberry chocolate chip, coffee with Oreos, mint chocolate chip, peach sorbet and a few others I cannot recall. The young man behind the counter saw my face when I read coffee Oreo out loud and he said I could try a sample. I did and it was incredible but I was not sure that is what I wanted. I asked for a sample of peach sorbet ... holy cow, it had the flavor of a sun ripened peach that you just picked from the tree. I have visited bluster's real ice cream on several occasions. The ice cream is made daily on site, which is definitely a great bonus. There is no sit down inside the facility. You have to sit outside, which is another good thing. That way they can focus on service. The cleanliness is great. The staff is very friendly and helpful.. The flavors are amazing and they also have vegan options as well and I do say it is very nice of them to give out a small cup of vanilla ice cream with a doggy bone in it for your babies so if you have dogs this is a nice treat occasionally I really do enjoy this ice cream and the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness.
