My family can't say enough about how great Dr. Bryan Wood and his staff are. We have been his patient since 15 years ago.

This dentist was referred to me by a friend, so I called Dental Associates and they got me in same day. I arrived and was promptly taken back. The hygienist lit a candle and gave me a little swab of lavender oil. It was a really great experience. She was friendly, stayed on task and I was out of there, a new patient, in just about 45 minutes. The treatment was a little different than I had previously had in that there wasn't just scrapping, there was a seperate tool used. It was so much faster and more thorough. I loved it.

Even as an adult I still dislike going but perhaps for the first time I actually enjoyed my experience. You know when they have your mouth open for so long it starts to hurt so much. I didn't really feel that this time. Maybe towards the end which is normal and I appreciated the dentist asking me if I was okay but just seeing my signs of discomfort instead of telling me to hold on. The hygienist was gentle but tough when needed to me. Never was I uncomfortable and I walked out feeling my teeth were fresh. The front desk was very welcoming. I felt my visit was personalized based off the questions they asked. I went ahead and booked my next appointment, I was truly satisfied with my visit.

I recently relocated to Alexandria and needed to find a new dentist and chose this office because it's close to where I live. In addition to needing X-rays and a cleaning, I needed two chipped teeth repaired that I have been putting off. My sister is getting married in a few weeks and there will be lots of pics, so I also decide to have this done as well. Dr. Kennealy and her staff are fantastic, I'm so glad I went to their office. The office is like new, super clean, the staff is very friendly, followed strict Covid protocols, and they saw me right on time. Very competitive pricing and top notch work. If you've been putting off dental work since Covid, don't. Visit this office and you'll be so glad you did!

Also, I am blind, so when I made my first appointment I asked for electronic versions of the forms I needed to fill out. They sent me the forms in a document format that was very easy for me to fill out. When I came in my fears were immediately put at ease. Everyone there is friendly and gentle, they always tell me exactly what is going to happen when and they also have nice background music! After two years they remember what I like and don't like and always ask how my husband and I are doing when I come in. I haven't needed to have any major work done yet, but if I do I'll feel comfortable and safe getting it done at Belle Haven Family Dentistry.

This review is for Dr. Hindman…read more Having had a previously positive experience with this office several years ago, I found myself reaching out again when in need of an emergency appointment recently. This would turn out to be a mistake. The Pros: I was able to get an appointment for the next day, and could've taken a same day appointment had my schedule permitted it. End of list. The Cons: I was told I needed a tooth extraction (& implant) that common sense and a second opinion have now revealed I did not need. All questions about the possibility of saving the tooth were immediately dismissed after about a minute of looking and two x-rays while in the chair. I had to ask, twice, to be given the antibiotics that I actually did need, as he was too busy compiling brochures for me of all his buddies that he wanted to refer me to for said extraction. Multiple times a panoramic dental x-ray was pushed on me, something I was told I had to have - and was told would cost me much more at any other practice - which felt like more of an attempt to get everything they could out of my insurance company than something that would help me in the moment, especially as I had to repeatedly say no. This is not even getting into what it's like for someone with anxiety about dentists, which the office had been warned about, to have to hear "I have more bad news for you but we won't get into that today". A week later, in the chair of another dentist at another practice, after another round of (non-panoramic) x-rays, said dentist looked at me and asked "that tooth?!" and then announced what I actually needed was a root canal. It's to their credit that I'm now going to be saved from an incredibly pricey procedure that likely would've caused more problems down the line. If you go here, get a second opinion after. You're probably going to need one. Better yet, just don't go here at all.

The entire office is very kind and works hard to accommodate you into their office. It can be very hard to find a dental office that provides great service, is clean and aesthetically pleasing, AND makes recommendations for treatment unaccompanied by the guilt trip other offices may throw at you. What made it worst was I was only available only a certain time period too. Normally, a dental office would laugh at me and tell me to wait in the dreaded waiting room, hearing little kids cry and drills...drilling, while it was my turn. (P.S the dental office was designed with a modern look, everything looked sleek and top of the line and featured nice open space) I wasn't fighting elbows with kids next to me for the Highlight Magazine. (My favorite still today) Back to the moral of the story, they were able to shift some things around and set a perfect appointment for me. I hope nobody got bumped. The staff was very kind and knowledgable. Dr. Vu was awesome in explaining how bad my cavaties were and recommended a course of action for my pearly whites. I'll be back! Hopefully only 2x a year.
