Finding a fence company that will do "smaller" jobs was a bit of a struggle, but thankfully Colton was happy to help. He came out at the expected time, gave a fair quote and since we were planning on doing it eventually anyway, I trusted him and his crew at MiCo Development Group to install a 2nd gate on the other side of the fence. The quote for the project was fair and delivered quickly through email via a customer portal. Payment for the deposit was simple and easy to do and everything was honest and straightforward. We scheduled a time for the work to be done a few weeks after the quote and Colton was communicative about the best days, letting us know that they had to adjust slightly for the Thanksgiving holiday, but was also clear in checking in ahead the day before to make sure the date worked out. When the work was done, they showed up on time and went over the agreed upon specs ahead of time. Colton and Mike paid attention to every detail I mentioned (such as a specific gate latch that I wanted) before starting. And in the middle of the job, when they accidentally hit a sprinkler line, they were honest about it and ensured that it was fixed properly before calling the job complete. The repairs were done in about half a day and now I have the piece of mind of (two!) working gates. Professional, friendly, prompt and fairly priced, as well as amazing customer service makes MiCo Development stand out above any other company here on Yelp. Highly recommend for small, medium or large projects!

Company needs to work on communication. a LOT of work on communication. Over all I'll move them up to 3.5 stars. When I bought a new house I needed a fence. I looked at a few places, got some quotes. For the most part they were about the same. I chose Kustom because of the reviews and because I wanted to support a small business. Frankly, right now, I can't help but feel it was a giant mistake. I should have known better when April showed up 30 minutes late to our appointment because she had forgotten she had scheduled me at 1:30 instead of 2. I nearly told her to forget it, but instead I turned around and came back to give them a chance. Mistake. I was told 4 to 6 weeks. At 6 weeks I touched base with them as I'd heard NOTHING. Not even if the supplies for my fence were here. It took a few days to even get a response. When April finally got back to me it was with the excuse that her phone had locked up and she had been unable to see anything for 3 days. Ok fine. I was told they were a little behind because they lost a lead installer. Ok fine. But that didn't happen the day before. They were clearly running behind before I even touched base with them. In fact I touched base with them on multiple occasions prior to that to let them know that A. I'd closed on the house and B. we had moved in and were ready for the fence to go in and C. to get an ETA on more than one occasion. At NO POINT IN TIME did they fess up and admit they were in over their heads. I VERY SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF THE FENCE WOULD GO IN BEFORE JUNE. I was told YES. I verified. Was again assured YES it would go in before June. I have to be out of town and the fence is a 500-600 difference when it comes to the dog sitter situation. Before I agreed to go out of town I asked IF THE FENCE WOULD BE PUT IN. I was told YES. Today is June 1st. I was told, by April, that my fence would go in the week of the 23rd. When I'd heard nothing on the 23rd I reached out. Again. I was assure the fence would still be going in THAT WEEK. I was given Joe's name and number. He said he would be here on Thursday. On Thursday he shows up and tells me he isn't going to get to it that week, it will be the week after. Assures me on Tuesday the 31st my fence would be going in. I verify this over the weekend as well. Tuesday rolls around and he tells me he is the only person installing because they now have no crews. Ok, fine. I'm told he will do the back chainlink portion first on Tuesday, then one side of the vinyl on Wednesday, then the other side of vinyl on Thursday. It is now Wednesday evening The chain link wasn't finished until about noon on Wednesday. There is only one panel of vinyl up. When I asked Joe I was told "it will get done". In the 2 days my fence has supposed to have been going in, Joe has been here only a few hours each day. I haven't the slightest idea where he keeps going to, but he's gone for hours at a time. He has spent less than 6 hours here total. My fence isn't even half way done, let alone 2/3 of the way done. Clearly this fence is not going to be done tomorrow either. I am about to call my card company and put the whole thing into dispute. This is not acceptable. I literally could have learned to install fence and done it myself at this rate. I am now going to be out a whole lot of money for a pet sitter that I had not planned on because I verified MULTIPLE TIMES this fence would be put in by now. I am NOT amused. April is clearly dodging my calls. They seem to be accepting fence work but can't actually get the work done. They are disorganized and have ZERO communication skills. I get they are short handed, but that doesn't make up for either of those. They've had nothing but excuses. This fence is costing me (WAS costing me I guess) 7K. Maybe that's not a lot of money to them, but it is to me. I've been stressing about this fence for WEEKS. Clearly I was right to be concerned. Honestly, even tho the fence supposedly has a lifetime warranty it's not going to be much good since these folks are going to go under at this rate.

I asked them to come by and look at this and they said they would but did not over and over. I had another fence company come by and they told me that whoever installed the fence did a very poor job to include, using very little if any concrete on posts which have caused the post to settle, brackets on post were attached with inferior non-professional bracket, and left gate post gap in between house and post. The footer is supposed to attach to the house. It costs $1200 to fix their work from the other company. I am going to talk to an attorney. By the way, I'm think they do work for Home Depot who I will also be contacting to let them know. So make sure they are not your fence company.

How's this? Very long. Please read all the way through…read more *****BUYER BEWARE***** Do not use this company. The owners name is Ray. He's a good talker. I had wood privacy fencing installed, board on board. I will give him credit, his pricing was very competitive to others I had gotten. Now, I see why. The first thing he did was to cut my cable in two places...after it had been surveyed. There went my cable for a few days. Annoying, but not impossible to live with. The fence was installed and on one side you can see where it bows out into the neighbors yard. It's not straight. No, there is nothing there he had to go around. It's wide open. He just couldn't follow a straight line, I guess. When I asked him about it, he just shrugged it off. He said, "That's just what happens. I'm not perfect." Now! The gates! The gate on one side seems to work fairly well, but it's also the one that doesn't get much use. The other gate has been nothing but problems from the start. It was not straight across the top. It rubbed and pinched on the hinge side and wouldn't close properly. Looking at it from either side, you could see immediately that it was not straight. It was kicked in at the bottom on the hinge side. We were told that was the best he could do, he wasn't perfect. And, the gate did open and close and latch, right? For a week, yes. Oh! And he pointed out that he didn't charge me for the hinges! Apparently, hinges are not normally included in his gate pricing? Who'd have thought? I guess it was just nice of him that he didn't just prop the gate up in the opening. He "gave" us hinges. That's just like the fence posts. He told me he was doing me a "favor" by using concrete in the holes. He doesn't usually. Keep in mind, however, there was no concrete on his trailer. When I asked about that, he said they forgot to load it and went and got it himself. A little over a week later, pickets were popping off, a couple boards were split and the gate was completely unusable. He did come out and replace the pickets. Reluctantly. He also "adjusted" the gate, it was somewhat better. At least, usable. Recently, about a week later, I had loose pickets and one that came off completely. His answer? Seal it. Seal the fence and that will prevent any problems. I told him that the gate wasn't working either. That they still hadn't addressed that issue. He ignored it. He told me he wasn't going to come out every time there is a "loose board" Then...the kicker. " I don't give any warranty he got a great job " That is a Direct Quote from his text message. I then sent him a picture of his own estimate where he had written : "One Year Warranty On Workmanship " His response? " Warranty is void if fence is not sealed " Now, just to point out, that is NOT written on there, nor did he ever "imply", verbally, that was a contingency for his "warranty". We did talk about sealing the fence while he was installing it and he just said, "Yeah. That would be a good idea. Help it last longer." I also want to mention that he "preferred" cash. He said that his estimate was for a cash (only) price. If we wanted to pay by debit or credit, he would have to add at least 3%. Again, this was not something noted on his estimate. Other estimates I received, said that it included a 3% charge for debit or credit which would not be charged (reducing total) if paid with cash. He was very demanding about getting his money. Even "suggesting" that he would get paid if he did a better job. Was he admitting he didn't do a good job? Bottom line? BUYER BEWARE! This is a glaring example of the old adage, you get what you pay for. If you decide to use him anyway, make sure that he's going to use concrete in the posts and that his pricing structure for gates includes hinges! And, don't forget to ask about the "warranty". You may want to ask if it's contingent on "sealing" the fence
