AC worked sort of and was loud and rattled barely maintaining a comfortable room temp. Lighting is poor. I would classify this as a budget motor inn ok for an overnight stay. Positives: Location is great. It's clean. Basic lodging for a place to sleep for the night. Negatives...curtain only opened about 12". And the towel bar over the toilet was very broken and barely hanging on for dear life. Carpet is really stained. Needs an interior refresh. Small deals in the grand scheme of things if your goal is close to the park and just need a warm place to sleep. Oh. And I didn't have WiFi. The building I was in was down past the restaurant. My partner booked us a camping spot in Bryce Canyon Pines Store & Campground. Booking was super easy online, we were able to get a spot with less than a week and a half notice. So happy we got a spot very close to Bryce Canyon National Park. Email access was helpful, it is a little farther down the road than the GPS guides you to. Camp site was clean, you weren't on top of one another. To note: campers in tents like us are a little on the closer side to the road but once I fell asleep it didn't wake us. The stars are breathtaking, customer service was kind, helpful and patient on the phone. Would love to come back! Plus it was dog friendly. read more

When we came into the RV park there was only a handful of RV's. We noticed our assigned spot was very small and very close to another RV we asked if we could have a less crowded spot. The blonde older lady at the gas station where you check in was very insistent that that they were 100% full, and that was the only spot available. And beyond that we needed to sign a additional contract that we would pay $35 every 30 minutes after the 11 am check out time If we happened to check out late. So we squeezed into our little spot for the next 3 nights. The first night we lost all power and the next morning it was still an empty RV park. Surely more people would come?? It was supposedly sold out! We watched for 3 days and the place was a ghost town even over the weekend. They could have easily accommodated our request for a different spot but out of pure laziness they were unwilling to do so. The response that they were "sold out" was an outright lie. There are some much better RV parks in the area. This one is right by a busy road, the sites aren't kept up and the gas station is loud. The good news is if you really need a spot this place isn't very busy. read more

Definitely not what is pictured on their website. The room might have been okay 30 years ago but it is truck stop quality now. An overhead flourscent light just doesnt pack it. Miniscule bathroom, marginal soap and shampoo. The internet is on and off and weak when connected. The one redeeming factor is that the bed linens were clean. read more

We were very pleased during our recent stay at Bryce Canyon Pines Motel during Thanksgiving break. The motel was unassuming, but clean, comfortable, and inexpensive. The beds were cozy, and the staff were polite and helpful. We will definitely be back! We ate at the restaurant twice. The food was good, but the service was a bit slow. It's a three star lodging. The room was clean. But old worn furniture. The heater made loud noise every time it came on and woke us up, but did keep us warm. The view was nice from our cabin. The bed was saggy. The shower was clean with plenty of hot water. Good soap. Light bulb burned out. The restaurant on site was good. No military discount. They said they don't give discount because they give discount already. It was almost 200 dollars. Looking at a past review, their rate was less than a $100. We had a memorable stay at Bryce Canyon Pines Campground. Rick, the manager, and Kevin, the maintenance assistant, were super friendly, welcoming and helpful. The sites are well spaced, very country with shade, unlike campgrounds that are just parking lots. The Pines has full hook-ups, facilities for laundry, a store and gas station. We booked our June/July 2022 vacay back in Oct 2021. The rates on their website were $32-93 a night depending on the room. Seeing the room photos online (very dated looking) , this rates seemed reasonable. We booked the family suite for $92/night because we wanted a kitchen to cook in the 8 nights we'd be staying. Well fast forward to 3 weeks prior to our trip, we got an email stating our rate was going from $826 to $3231. I called to speak to them and initially they said it wasn't an increase but an error in their system and they had to adjust the reservation to reflect the accurate price of $370/night. I had to call back later to speak to the owner. When I did, she was rude and would not compromise on a rate. I was furious as we paid a deposit when we booked our room. I come from a hospitality background and that's a binding agreement. I was practically hung up on and never again was able to reach the owner to speak with further. (This happened to other families with our group and we all were treated the same 'if you don't like the rate you are welcome to cancel' is what we were all told. )! I looked for another hotel but sadly, our entire group of 12 families was staying at the hotel/rv park and we didn't want to be separated from the group. I ended up downgrading our room and reducing our stay a week prior to our arrival. One person in our group noticed during our stay, that they listed our rooms on booking.com for less than our downgraded room rate!!! Astonishing they would reduce the rate online through a 3rd party site (which they pay fees to) but not negotiate with us when the error was their fault!! We even sent them screen shots showing them the rates online when we booked. They didn't budge but said they'd contact their website person to fix it. The hotels in town were cheaper than this place and closer to all the fun things in town! The hotel looks nice but the rooms are dumpy and dingy. Maid service gave us fresh towels daily which we appreciated and tipped her. I wanted to try the famous pie from the restaurant but was told no when I asked to order a whole pie. So I asked for 5 slices of the chocolate cream (5 of us in our family) and I was told the maximum I was allowed for one flavor was 4 slices. Wtf?! How bizarre!!! A sale is a sale. Why would you limit someone? I later learned the pies were made by the owners in their home at the back of the motel. They were good but I was a little surprised when my tab was $43 for 5 slices of pie! We had others in our party dine in the restaurant and said the food was good but that the service was incredibly slow. One couple got up and walked out at one point. When my husband was getting ice from The ice machine in the lobby (using a trash bag because that's all we had) he was told to 'save ice for others'. Our group was the only people at the hotel! It's a big ice machine and he didn't even make a dent in the ice. I would not recommend this hotel. Awful Service and over priced. read more

We've been to the RV park several times since 2009. It is a small park with 50 amp power. It's usually quiet and only a few miles from the entrance of Bryce Canyon NP which is a busy area. Check out time is 11 am, and don't be late or they'll charge your card. We were hooked up and ready to go at 10:50 but visited with our travel partners for about 30 minutes. We pulled out of the site at 11:20 (no one waiting to get in the space) and our partners left at about 11:30. We were each assessed a fine for leaving late. I called to ask about it and the RV office said the owners are adamant that guest leave by check-out. My only gripe is I wish whoever was watching to see when we pulled out would have told us a fine would be assessed as we would have cut our goodbyes short and left. Two years ago they messed up our reservation and we had to pull our 5'er into a back-in site to reach power/water, no break or empathy from staff. We'll probably go to another RV park in the area next time as rates have gone up to $60 per night and on top of the regular charges and late fee they charged us a $35 fee for what, I don't know. BCP RV has seen the last of our money. Update: I contact the BCP office by email and shared this review with then asking with a more in depth review if our history there. I quickly received a reply with an adjusted invoice and a refund on my card for the $35 charge. I appreciate the BCP management taking time to read my concern and taking immediate action to remedy the situation. read more

They are part of the Pines Restaurant, which I already gave 5stars for their food, service and pies. However, we couldn't stay at the Motel because they're NOT pet friendly and we have our pup with us. They were upfront about it though so I can't complain about that. We appreciate the cleanliness & efficiency of the establishment though and of course, the beauty of the place in winter. read more

Great little place to stay in Bryce Canyon. Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Rooms have been recently repainted. This place has a fantastic history and is family owned and operated. You can tell from the minute you check in. The pool and hot tub were nice and large for a motel. The restaurant on property was good and reasonable. The service was great here as well. Stayed two nights. Rooms were clean but the mattresses were saggy and I itched all night. The pool was well maintained but the "hot tub" was more of a warm tub. The receptionist who checked us in said that breakfast would be available in the restaurant but when we got there it was closed and the sign said it didn't open until noon. read more

The Good:. Very close to Park Entrance, quiet in the evenings and a fine restaurant attached to the property. The Bad:. Our QZ beds ( we had two) need to be replaced. Roughest sleep we've had in years. A/C system didn't do adequate job keeping room cool at night. Tub/shower drained slowly and maintenance fixed it when we pointed it out to them. Overall, it's much better than sleeping on the ground in a tent, but this isn't anywhere near a three-star place. read more

Stayed here for two nights while visit Bryce Canyon. Rooms were spacious and clean. They even have a fridge and microwave which are a nice touch. The pool and hot tub were great after a day of hiking. Place may look outdated but that's part of the charm if you ask me and it's clean and that's what matters most! Stayed here on 7/26/20 and was scheduled for two nights while visiting Bryce Canyon. Room was old and needed work and marginal at best. We should have refused the room but we were so tired from a 9 hour drive we just wanted to get some sleep. Carpet was dirty and a/c and refrigerator made so much noise we couldn't sleep. Next morning went to office to complain and doors were locked at 7:30am when they say they open at 7am. Went back at 7:45am and still locked. Didn't wait around any longer as we were going to the park. That night we decided to get a room at the Best Western Plus in town and leave this flea bag motel. When we checked out, I voiced my concerns to the person at the desk and she made me feel like it was my fault that the place was a dump. She did not apologize or offer refund on my next night stay and at that point I didn't care I just wanted out of that place. We left and had a wonderful evening at the Best Western. Should have stayed there in the first place. Don't waste your time or money on this place. read more

We fortunately had a different experience than the previous Yelper. The outside of BCP Motel may look a little dubious (shades of the 60's) but our room was very satisfactory. We were in a unit that was far from the main building. We had a king-sized bed with a pretty comforter and at least 4 large pillows, 2 or 3 small pillows and at least 6 toss pillows. There was an enormous electric fireplace with a faux fire to look at. There was a mini-fridge and microwave, table and chairs, flat screen tv, nice bathroom with tub/shower, fluffy towels. The WIFI was down for most of our visit. Added bonus was that at night we only had to step outside our room to see the night sky and a gazillion stars! Awesome! Our motel is about 3-4 miles outside the park. We actually liked being away from the hordes of folks staying in the huge motel complexes closer to the park. ****************************** Restaurant 3.5 stars BCP has one of the few restaurants in town that doesn't cause an arm and a leg. I had the hot turkey sandwich which came with yummy homemade mashed potatoes. Too huge for me. Hubby and I shared a salad. He also had sides of veggies, yams, pilaf rice and bread. Moderately priced. One night I got a chocolate creme pie to go. It must have had 3 inches of "creme" on top.....I think it was more like Reddi whip than real whipped cream. The chocolate part was tasty, but there was not much to it. This restaurant is famous for their pies, but the chocolate pie was unimpressive. Review for the campground Since north campground was fully booked and sunset campground in Bryce canyon is first come first serve, this is definitely a safer bet after driving 8 hours from los angeles. Its nice to arrive knowing you have a camp site waiting for you. For $17 a night, it's about average price, and only 6 miles away from Bryce canyon visitor center. Once you get there, you just turn into the overpriced chevron to check in and they charge your card then. There's a general store, even with free showers too. There's a bunch of snacks and touristy paraphernalia sold. Although it didn't seem to have that much useful camping supplies. There's horse trail across the campgrounds as well as one of the 2 restaurants in the city. The campground itself was alright. Unpaved roads, very bad for my coupe =( it's not even just sandy, but big rocks/loose gravel! I swear I'm going to have a flat tire within this month! Also porter potties! No bathrooms on the campsite. The north and sunset campgrounds in Bryce canyon has normal bathrooms! =( The do have a fireplace so roast some marshmellow! Sturdy picnic table. Bad thing is the bathroom is so far, it's a nuisance to wash any utensils/pots/pans The atmosphere was alright. All the trees were pretty much young so it wasn't that scenic. There was no designated parking spot, so just park anywhere that's not blocking the road. not too many campsites, but some of the campsites were close together, hence i got woken up at 6am by a verbal fight and i could hear every word they were saying/yelling! although there's less people it could be more peaceful, yet i felt like it lacked the atmosphere of a friendly campground. Another miss is that the campground is right next to highway 12, so you hear cars zooming past every so often, and the airport is not far away, so I even heard planes flying past at night. Pretty annoying -_-"" Ruby's campground is right outside the park, and might be worth the phone call. Though if you're lazy like me and prefer to do online reservations, and all the campgrounds inside Bryce Canyon are booked, this is a safe bet. Better camping than homeless! *** Tip: They check in till 10pm at the chevron. Gas here is overpriced! Their bathrooms are open 7am-10pm (same as general store) About 6 miles from Bryce Canyon Likes: Cheap...relatively close. Has food. Not first come first serve. Stayed in this hotel on my way to Salt Lake City, it was cute and quaint, however.... When we went for breakfast we asked to sit at the "bar area" we were denied our request and sat in a booth, we sat unrecognized for 20 minutes. People who came in after us were served and leaving before we had water. Even after asking for a server we were ignored. BTW openly gay couple in Utah no big surprise. The kicker was we paid $105.00 for the room and had water that was directly linked to the kitchen, what does that mean you ask? We checked in at 7 PM we listened to the water pressure change every 5 minutes as the dishwasher was right next to our room. I sleep better to white noise so it was all good... The next morning however was HELL~!!!! I got in the shower waited 3 minutes for hot water the HOLY FCUK, it went for nice to WET SAUNA The water was so hot I jumped out of the shower screaming, as quickly as it when to HELL HOT it went to ARCTIC FREEZE. When I went to the Front desk to inform them of the water issue I was told by the manager that it was normal and the kitchen was not to use the dishwasher between 8AM and 11 AM Which posed a whole load of new questions? If you are not using the dishwasher how are the dished glasses pots pans etc... being cleaned??? This place was CRAZY BUSY, There is no way any one dishwasher could keep up with and provide perfectly sanitized equipment. I was never offered a discount or refund or even a free breakfast. The staff was a little inept. Perhaps because we were the only English speaking people there maybe they were confused. Visited in May 2012 - From the time we arrived until we left, everything was good at price of $105 for the room. Great service at the restaurant for dinner. I recommend the Halibut Steak for dinner. It was light and filling! We enjoyed their Coconut Cream Pie!! Huge slice of pie for $5, that's a deal! The fruit pies are $4/slice. The staff was friendly. The prices seem to be the same at most of the restaurants. My husband and I came in to check-in and the attendant asked, "Are you married?" That's what we heard. Ultimately, she meant, "Are you Mary?" A simple and funny misunderstanding. But yes, we are married. =) When we came in the second time to pick up the key to our room in the evening time, a different attendant was there at the front desk. She was friendly at first. She appeared distracted on something else when I asked where our unit was located. She responded sarcastically. I didn't feel welcomed as I did when we checked in. The room is nice and quaint. Wood panels on the wall made it feel like the 70s Show. We stayed for a night. It was a very cold night, but we kept warm as much as we could. The heater in the bathroom felt nice and toasty. Throughout the room, it wasn't as toasty because we felt a brisk of cold air every now and then. Double queens, mini-fridge, microwave, TV, and free wi-fi. Although the further your unit is away from the main office, the weaker the wi-fi became. You won't find the ice box where the vending machine is located, it is actually located in the main office near the electric organ. Who would have known there was an electric organ (church style)?! I would recommend this place to everyone, if you aren't too picky for anything to be acceptable. read more

This hotel was a life saver to help us get out of the heat wave! The pool is quite nice and the hot tub was perfect in the heat (not too hot). The room has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the restaurant nearby is wonderful. It may be a bit more expensive than some of the other hotels in the area, but it is nice enough to merit the additional charge. read more

We stayed here for our trip to Bryce. We chose this location, in part because it advertises a campground and motel. My in-laws didn't want to camp, so they got a room, we camped. The campground is away from the main complex. Not too big of a deal, but sucky, nonetheless. The staff at the campground were helpful. Also on the website a pool is advertised. However, campers are not welcome. Had we known this, we probably would've stayed elsewhere, hell maybe we would've gotten a room. Their reasoning is- yes the lady at the motel said this- "campers like to use the pool as a tub." We ate at the restaurant. I wasn't impressed. My son ordered an elk burger, they didn't have elk. The pie was decent, though. Come to Bryce, just stay somewhere else. Sorry Bryce Canyon Pines, you guys suck. read more

I don't understand some of the reviews. This is a great place to stay and very convenient to Bryce National Park. We were greeted warmly. Although our room wasn't ready, they completed the check in process so we simply had to pick up our key when we got back from the park. Our room was wonderful. It was a little cabin and perfect for us. Quiet, clean and comfortable - bed and sofa. We didn't need an air conditioner because it was cool, but they do have window units. It took me a minute to figure out how to turn on the heat, but once on, we were very comfortable. If you don't know how to work something, don't ding them for it, ask for help so they can remedy the situation while you are there! We dined at the restaurant twice for dinner and once for breakfast. Breakfast was delicious. Their portions are large so you won't go hungry. Dinner was very good for me and good for my partner. I had the local trout the first night and it was delicious, my partner had it the second night and his wasn't as good - cooked a little dry and flavor was off, may have been a day old. Unknown, but he wouldn't do anything about it so I won't ding them for it. The pie is quite good - get the boysenberry. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again when in the area read more

This place needs work. First off, staff is extremely rude. They couldn't find our reservation at first and were very rude telling us that we were in the wrong place. Then we gave them our confirmation number and instantly found our reservation. Rooms are dated and beds are way past their lifespan. My son woke up with several bites on his legs. We checked out of the hotel early and dropped our room key in the key drop box. We headed over to their restaurant next door for breakfast, which is good. After breakfast, we went back to the hotel lobby to get some ice for our cooler and water bottles, the front desk clerk, Linda asked if we had checked out. I told her we had and that I had placed the keys in the drop box. She was very rude stating that she had been waiting for us to check out. I told her the keys were in the box. Rude customer service. I stayed at Bryce Canyon Pines RV park for one night in a tent. The campsite was fine, minimal but nice enough. The people at the check-in in the camp store were very nice. They were relatively knowledgeable about the park. The site was about 20 minutes from the park, which was a little further than I had wanted but it was a bit cheaper than places closer to it. There was free WiFi in the store. The showers were clean and warm and included in the price of the campsite. The bathrooms were also clean, although they are a ways from the tent camping area. There was a port-a potty in the tent site area. It is definitely designed for people who are RV camping, but we still had a good time. read more

We came very last minute and I found this place online. I often do not book ahead of time and simply drive. But I wanted to make sure we had a place because it was so close to the NP. I think this place is great!!! It isnt much, but we dont need much. PROS: - Small - Quiet - Clean - This place was very clean and I have nothing negitive to say regarding this. - Well Prices - This is the off season and so the proces always tend to be lower, but who can beat $60 per night. - Warm - Since is was getting down to 17 at night, we were happy that the heater worked. Some reviews that I read said they were too loud, but those people must have been extra picky. - THE OWNER - She was so very nice. She always took the time to talk to us and see how we were doing. Very, very nice.. CONS - One of the reasons we picked this place was because of the resturant and hourses. When we arrived we were tols (after asking) that the reasturant was being remodled and the hourses were down for the winter. The only reason they dont get 5 sars form me was for this reason, May putting this on the website would be a good idea. Overall - We will come and stay here again when we come out again. It is so close to the NP that it is easy to come and go. They also have a laundry down the street and camping in the summer. Dont forget the hourses, in the summer.... We talked to some locals and they said that really the best time to go is May - July, and still it only gets to 80, as it is above 8000 feet. But since the "season" is so short, it gets packed....If you dont mind the colad i prefer no people. read more

This review is for the motel. It's inexpensive, about $60 per night (11/19/15) for a room with two queen sized beds. The place is a bit dated, but what do you expect for the price. The heater was super noisy and constantly going on and off and neither of us had a good night's sleep due to the racket. It was below freezing outside so we couldn't leave the heater off. Did not have a setting to keep the fan blowing, unless you turned the heat off, then it would get cold! While it's not a cute place or have a five star rating it is one of the cheaper motels near Bryce Canyon National Park. read more
