I want to say from the very beginning that staying in our Clear Sky dome was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience. There's nothing like lying in (a very comfortable) bed with the draperies open and looking up at the clearest, starriest sky you've ever seen in your life. My wife and I have been married 45 years, been all over the world, and we both agree that this was one of the most romantic things we've done. A couple of significant complaints, though: There is NO way to reach reception if issues arise--and, as with any new venture, there were plenty of issues. There's no cell reception, so they recommend using WiFi calling, but that didn't work either. Also, there were a number of small things that should have been anticipated, such as having a keypad to open the door of the domes--a keypad with lighted numbers that can't be seen because of the bright sun. Also, when you're charging literally hundreds for a night's stay, how about springing for a Keurig coffee maker for the rooms? The coffee supplied was a messy, complicated affair that just felt cheap. Management solicited feedback on our stay, but didn't respond to any of it. Still, it was a great experience and I'd do it again.
After seeing the various social media posts about Clear Sky, we decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. We traveled with another family so we ended up booking their largest dome, the Andromeda. Upon arriving at the property, it felt like we were in a sci fi film with all the dome habitats. The roads entering the property were gravel and were fine for our SUV and sedan. We found the front desk dome and the check in process was pretty straightforward. We received a binder with some information about the dome, our door code, and then drove a short distance from the main dome to our dome. We entered our dome and were amazed at the size of the interior. There was an adequate amount of space for our entire party. The beddings were nicely set up and the bathrooms were clean and neat. There was a nice "living room" area for us to congregate in. Unfortunately, after getting settled, we ran into multiple issues that negatively impacted our overall experience. First off, though the first floor was nicely cooled from their AC units, the second floor was very warm and was very uncomfortable to stay in during the day. We blasted the AC on the second floor all day and it never got cool enough until late in the evening. Secondly, the dome itself had a lot of imperfections and issues. There were holes drilled and filled on the steps, shower stalls that didn't self drain and required us to "push" the water into the drain, showers that would drip all day, the ventilation window that would not open (which then trapped hot air in the dome), and the AC in one of the bedrooms dripped water throughout our entire stay. We talked to the Frontdesk about the ventilation window and the dripping AC. All that was done was the removal of the broken motor from the window and for the dripping AC, they just placed stacks of towels under the AC unit to catch the water. Though they advertised WiFi on the property, the WiFi was effectively non existent. The only "reliable" WiFi was in the main Frontdesk dome. In general, this wouldn't have been too much of an issue, but the only way to reach the Frontdesk from our dome was to call them. But with no cell reception and no WiFi, we had no way to reach the Frontdesk. We ended up having to drive to the main Frontdesk multiple times to raise issues and to get supplies. Oddly, with what little WiFi we were able to get in our dome, the only messages that came through were all the text messages from Clear Sky marketing their additional activities and amenities. We did end up having dinner at the property and at least that experience and the food was good. We sat outside in the evening and the weather was great for outside dining. We did talk to the front desk about our key issues and we asked what they could do to make up for the issues. Their only offer to me was complimentary breakfast, but oddly, only for half of our party. For a "luxury" resort and for the price we paid, they could have at least offered to cover our entire party. The individual who I raised the issues to said that they would leave a message for the manager to contact me. But unfortunately, I never receive a call from the manager. Overall, though the dome was a unique experience, I am not sure that Clear Sky met the expectations that they had try to set especially given the price of their accomodations.
Had a wonderful stay at Clear Sky Resorts this past November. It is a bit on the pricey side, but honestly such a unique experience, I think it is worth it to give it a try at least once. The dome suites are beautiful, spacious, and super comfortable. The bed was extremely comfy. Do note that there is not much nearby, at all, so either bring everything you need with you, or be prepared to purchase it at the resort. This includes food, alcohol, etc. We only stayed for one night, so decided to eat at the resort restaurant at night. It was surprisingly nice! The menu was a mix of fusion offerings, along with American options. We got the Thai salad, lomo salado, shrimp, linguine, and creme brulee for dessert. We also got a few specialty drinks. I will say that the prices are quite high, so be prepared to pay a 5-star price for your meal. Overall, I would say the taste and quality of the meal was surprisingly good. It is your only option though, so keep that in mind. At night, we did a stargazing tour which was the highlight of our stay. The tour guide was super funny and engaging. He took us from the lobby to an outside area where we could sit and look up at the sky. He had a telescope which he focused on different planets and stars, and allowed us each a chance to go up and see it. It was a great excursion. I will say that it got super chilly, so be sure to bring layers. I wish we could've stayed here for longer, since they have other excursions like horseback riding and hikes, so I would've liked to try those as well. Overall, I really enjoyed our experience here & would definitely recommend it to others coming into the area.
Had a great experience while stopping by from Bryce Canyon. Service and food were great! I ordered duck which was cooked perfectly. Portion was a little small. Daiquiri was very tasty with lavender flavor. Great place for a special occasion, otherwise pricey. Definitely fun for a memorable experience
We decided to take a trip to this very intriguing sci-fi desert experience. Clear Sky is easy to find from the freeway. When you enter the desert resort there are signs that are a little confusing but you'll instinctively find your way to the front desk. The dome where the check-in is located is at the top of the hill. When you enter, the desk is right by the front door so it gets congested if there's more than one party checking in. I would suggest to switch the desk and couches around so there is room to form a line and customers can see the amazing view when talking to the receptionist. They have cool merch like shirts and sweaters but ran out of stickers. Once we made it to our dome, the Andromeda we were so excited because what a cool experience. The rooms are decorated with a modern and space like touch. The beds are very comfortable. The fan has different lighting settings so you have to push the buttons until you figure it out. It would be great to add a soft floor lamp to the living room area so you don't have to rely on the ceiling fan. It felt very clean inside the bedrooms and bathrooms. The showers have 3 different shower head options and the doors open into the shower so be careful. The way the shower is set up you will get blasted by water and it makes a huge mess. The water pressure was great though. They provide plenty of towels and slippers for you to use. The kitchen fridge is plenty big to bring your own food and snacks. They have electric water kettles to heat water for coffee and tea but ours had burned residue in the bottom which was really gross. It would be great to just put coffee makers in the kitchen. There is a microwave to use as well. No stove or oven. The couch is uncomfortable and felt dirty. Not a hangout couch or relaxing so if you wanted to lean back and enjoy your view you really couldn't. We ended up sitting on the floor and leaned into the couch. During the day you cannot hangout upstairs as it's incredibly hot and the ac just doesn't combat the sun. It would be great if they tinted the windows with UV blocking tint. I believe this would help dramatically. The view from the dome is excellent and truly a great experience. It's fun to hangout on the patio but watch out for the prickly bushes! At night you can see the milky way and it's just stunning. During the day there are amazing views of the surrounding canyons and the beautiful sunrise. At night the street signs are very bright and could be turned down a bit. The front desk is attached to the restaurant and bar. We did eat here a couple times and the food was good. They have live music at night which was entertaining and set a good vibe. The pizza is too thick and has way too much cheese that was undercooked. The breakfast burrito and classic breakfast was good and well portioned. The free coffee is absolute trash, it's thick and bitter and made me nauseous. If you order coffee it's fine but I wouldn't suggest it. There was a female server basically attending to the whole restaurant and she was very friendly and attentive and did her best to keep up. The hostess was not familiar with any of the menu items but was nice. The male bartender is an absolute embarrassment to the establishment and to bartenders everywhere. He was very rude and discourteous. We wanted to order food and drinks and had questions about the menu, but he didn't know anything about it and, he wouldn't suggest any food or drinks. When trying to ask him questions he acted like we were bothering him. When he didn't have all the ingredients for a drink we wanted that was what he said, "we don't have the ingredients" and then walked off. It was such bizarre behavior from a bartender that the people in my party were literally flabbergasted. He didn't make any other suggestions or say what he could do instead. It was like pulling teeth to try to order from him and he made himself look busy and unavailable that never even took our drink order so it was very disappointing. This was actually the worst part of our stay. I would suggest to go in town to friendlier establishments if you want to enjoy adult beverages. The horse ride was nice but definitely take the morning ride it gets hot quick. Be advised they were running a sick horse and I felt so bad for it he looked so sad like he wanted to pass out any time. He didn't have much hair and his neck was getting fatty. He also had gooey eyes. Other than the awful bartender, the sad horse, the and the few things that need adjusting this was a fun experience with amazing views.
Getting there, it looked like another planet, all its own-the stargazing domes-ours with a deck and hammock, were pure luxury with an oh so comfy bed, shower with large rectangular shower head and jets that came horizontally from the wall, a view of the stars from the bed and the restaurant was amazing as well. I enjoyed a prosecco and the short ribs over a bed of polenta.
Clear Sky Resort has such a beautiful concept, and we were so excited for our weekend. The domes are unique and cozy with great views, though there were a few small details missing that kept it from feeling fully five-star. The staff seemed nervous when we arrived, and while Erik did his best to guide us, the overall service could use more polish and guidance -- even something as simple as a warm smile from the staff would go a long way. For a $500-a-night price point, the experience isn't quite at five-star level yet. Even though you get to lay underneath the most beautiful stars, there are some minor improvements needed to match the cost. Our dinner in the private dome was just okay as well, but our waitress Jazzy was fantastic -- attentive, warm, and really made the meal enjoyable! We also loved the one-man band at the welcome dome; he really added to the vibe. The biggest improvements would be more smiles, better training, and clear staff identification, like name tags or uniforms, because I honestly couldn't tell who was staff and who were guests. Despite that, we still enjoyed our stay and really hope to see this place reach its full potential. With a few improvements, it could absolutely become a five-star experience!
Let me start with the good- 1- really cool concept! - domes in the desert with opportunities to stargaze! 2- staff is very friendly and prompt 3- s'mores at the fire were cute That's where the good ends, unfortunately- here's an honest review for the rest: 1- this resort advertises for 5 star luxury and definitely charges just that at almost $875/night, but unfortunately it was falls short on providing the luxury for that price. The domes are cool, but only about half the dome is made of glass panels that are triangular, but joined with large metal slats- so the viewing area is actually pretty limited. 3/4ths of the dome is covered. 2- the dome is a fish bowl so in the morning the upstairs gets extremely hot, no matter what the AC is set to. 3- not all the curtains are automatic and pulling them is a sport in itself. 4- when we checked in, the breaker was out so one of ACs was not even turning on. They told us maintenance could fix it in the morning, which we were ok with except we realized none of our power outlets were working either. They did come and end up fixing it and were super nice about it so I'll give them that. 5- the glass panes were pretty dirty (pic attached) 6- this was the cherry on top- this resort boasts "stargazing" and sells a telescope stargazing activity - $15 pp (not bad!) except they have 1 telescope and about a 100 ppl lined up to look into it one at a time! I mean - the whole concept is stargazing and they can't even invest in multiple telescopes? At the prices they're charging for the resort?? 7- restaurant had a cool concept, futuristic looking, but food was mediocre at best. 8- went to take a shower and the shampoo bottle was empty and in rough condition. The hand soap bottle was barely half full This resort left a lot to be desired - also, maybe I'm not familiar with glamping, but know there are no TVs here. I didn't take a star off for that because that could've just been my lack of knowledge.
We were there this past weekend. What a beautiful experience. So close to Navajo loop. So much beauty to see and take in. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We had a minor incident with our vehicle- the glass shattered. One of their staff was able to tape it up well until we were able to switch the van. Sooooo happy with our stay
My family really enjoyed staying here and loved the unique experience. The dome was super cool at night, and we could see the stars while relaxing in the evening. The loft was great for the kids and they liked having their own twin bed while also being able to see the stars. Our shower leaked and the sink faucets did too a little. The main dome flooring was cement which I thought a bit odd, but it wasn't horrible. Their main restaurant was closed but they did have mini domes for a private dining experience. That night was super cold so they had a mini heater in the dome. However they weren't able to zip it up due to a fear it would tear the dome. The food was pretty good, but it was freezing during the entire meal! They were also out of a lot of items on their menu. Overall we liked the place and would probably stay there again. Definitely something to try and experience!!

We recently spent two nights at Clear Sky Resorts. It's kind of pricey, but I think it was worth every penny. It's just a neat place, and the domes are really spacious. Unfortunately we got there a week or so before the Perseids started up, because that should be some show. It's hard to explain how cool it is to lay in your bed and look up into the starry sky, but it's every bit as good as you can imagine. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom and shower area was really big. It's not much to look at from the outside, but it was a really great experience. We had a fun time staying at the Clear Sky Resorts. Their rooms are on the pricey side, as other yelpers mentioned, but it's definitely an experience we will remember for a long time! We went on a pretty hot day, so the room was very toasty. Even with 2 AC units, it still took many hours to cool down the dome. The good thing is we stayed outdoors watching the stars and Milky Way until past midnight, so that was not a big issue for us after all. We also attended their stargazing tour, and their guide was super knowledgeable and very helpful. If your goal was to find a good spot to watch the stars without light pollution, there are other log cabins in Tropic priced at a much lower rate, but if you want to truly have an awesome experience, then Clear Sky Resorts might be one of the best places to stay in the Bryce Canyon National Park area. read more

We had a great stay at Clear Sky Resorts. My wife, baby, and I really enjoyed our time there. The food was excellent, the customer service was top notch, and the views were absolutely beautiful. It was a relaxing and memorable experience for our little family. Would definitely recommend! read more

At the prices they're charging for the resort?? 7- restaurant had a cool concept, futuristic looking, but food was mediocre at best. 8- went to take a shower and the shampoo bottle was empty and in rough condition. The hand soap bottle was barely half full This resort left a lot to be desired - also, maybe I'm not familiar with glamping, but know there are no TVs here. We were there this past weekend. What a beautiful experience. So close to Navajo loop. So much beauty to see and take in. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We had a minor incident with our vehicle- the glass shattered. One of their staff was able to tape it up well until we were able to switch the van. Sooooo happy with our stay read more

My family really enjoyed staying here and loved the unique experience. The dome was super cool at night, and we could see the stars while relaxing in the evening. The loft was great for the kids and they liked having their own twin bed while also being able to see the stars. Our shower leaked and the sink faucets did too a little. The main dome flooring was cement which I thought a bit odd, but it wasn't horrible. Their main restaurant was closed but they did have mini domes for a private dining experience. That night was super cold so they had a mini heater in the dome. However they weren't able to zip it up due to a fear it would tear the dome. The food was pretty good, but it was freezing during the entire meal! They were also out of a lot of items on their menu. Overall we liked the place and would probably stay there again. Definitely something to try and experience!! read more
Spent 3 nights here on a girls trip - what a unique experience! The dome was spacious and comfortable. We appreciated the fridge, microwave, and kitchenette - key to prepping for our hiking adventures. The disco dance floor was a bit tricky to operate but we fiddled around enough and figured it out. Appreciated the community rules designed to give everyone a chance to experience the dark sky. WiFi was spotty in our room but overall we were able to make it work. read more

I saw this place on Tik tok & had to book it for my 5 year anniversary & I was planning on proposing, so what better way to stay in a romantic dome! Everything was great. Finding the place was easy. Check in was smooth. Getting into the dome was easy. Comfortable bed & room. Loved the floor to ceiling glass. Very romantic. The restaurant was yummy, food was delicious, & the drinks hit. I'm glad everything was open, I read some reviews that said the restaurant & bar were closed for renovations. The complimentary smores & fire pit was a great ending to our first night. I took off a star because for the money you pay per night , I felt like it was overpriced. 1) there's no clear signage entering the building. No sign for check in desk, or what to do when entering the restaurant / bar area. Everything was uhhh where do I go? 2) the service - our server & the bartender were nice, however we were checked out pretty quickly, decided to have another drink & enjoy the live music, our server was nowhere in sight to ask if we can order another, or if they needed the table to move to the bar. Once we moved to sit at the bar, we didn't get acknowledged for a good 10 minutes. There were employees in front of us, but not one asked if how we are, if we needed a menu, etc. 3) we wanted a coffee the next morning, entering we had no idea where to go, if the coffee area was even open, no coffee menu, etc. it was all weird & confusing. 4) the vibe during dinner service, very meh. Like not up lifting at all. Maybe it was just me, but the vibe was very meh. 5) the construction in the dome wasn't done very well, as in, you can see imperfections. Looks like it was constructed fast. All in all, experience was great, but over priced. Hoping they change the ambiance as time goes on. read more

We stayed here for a single night while exploring Bruce canyon and had a great time! The room was amazing, beautiful, clean, bed is comfortable. Even had someone sleep on the couch that got a great night sleep. Bathroom was clean, well lit, shower was great. We did the night star gazing. The person running it was well informed and the telescope was great! Got to see Jupiter, canes major, a star in the process of being formed, and a few shooting stars. In the room kept the top layer of blinds open all night and fell asleep star gazing. The next day we ate breakfast in the restaurant. All got breakfast sandwiches and pancakes for the table. Drinks, food and service was good. After breakfast we did the horse back riding tour. The guide was great, the ride is good for all ages and skill level. We saw a huge jack rabbit and some desert flowers that had bloomed but no other wildlife besides some chipmunks and lizards. Overall was a great experience and would for sure do it again. read more

The concept is fantastic - glamping under the stars. Accommodation was excellent. We had no problems in our room dome #15 & # 12. Food service has a lot of room for improvement. Our first server when we arrive 4/11 for dinner doesn't seem very happy with her job maybe because she's exhausted. They are obviously shorthanded. None of the mocktails or cocktails in the menu is available. They have canned drinks though. We ate inside the reception dome with our food served in Styrofoam since their restaurant is still under renovation, which they warned us several times before we arrive. If you order their steak, ask for a real spoon and fork as they will give you plastic serveware for your $$36 (before tax and tip) strip steak . That being said, if you have early plans, try to eat breakfast someplace else cause they might not have enough server and cooks for early breakfast. I came for the experience of sleeping under the stars and it did meet my expectation in that aspect. Be mindful of when do you wanna visit because the concept is in the desert expect the dome to be either very hot or very cold. In our case during April, it was a pleasant weather, and the temperature of the dome was just perfect during night time for sleeping. We didn't stay at the dome during the day, but I can feel the heat by 10 AM even with the AC on. 4 stars for the great concept and comfortable bed, functioning room and bathroom equipments. read more

I have mixed feelings about this hotel because i think it has some real potential but it missed on some areas that drag it down. This is a resort that wants to be 5 stars and they are absolutely charging 5 star prices, The problem is the resort is not yet ready to deliver a 5-star experience. I stayed here for two nights over Thanksgiving. The staff I interacted with did everything they could to make my stay enjoyable absolute kudos to them. Price - as mentioned its a 5-star price, we got an introductory rate and it was still around $500/night. This in itself isn't necessarily bad or wrong if the experience matches the price. Food - The resort has it's own restaurant that is space themed and looks awesome. Unofrtunately the food was only OK and on one of the nights service was glacially slow. On the first night we were the third table to be seated. We ordered drinks and our meals (two steaks, medium rare). The drinks came out with no issue but we waited for over an hour for 2 steaks and they were both over-cooked and under-seasoned. They comped us a second drink for waiting so long but thats a long time for underwhelming steak. Night two was Thanksgiving and they had a holiday special with turkey and fixins. The turkeay was maybe the best i have ever had, really good. Unofrtunately the mashed potatoes and gravy were cold, not like they had been sitting out, actual cold. Really dissapointing. Accomodations - I love the idea of the dome and being able to see the stars all night. it's awesome. However I think this project like many has fallen victim to budget and they cut corners everywhere they could. Our shower leaked water onto the bathroom floor, like a lot. We put towels down to capture it but really thats' not a 5-start experience. Also in the bathroom I found holes in the walls where the contractors made a mistake putting in the shower enclosure. I also found gaps in the door jamb to the bathroom that look like they should have been sealed with silicon but weren't. The room was either too hot, or too cold. They give you instructions on how they think you should work their HVAC system but i don't think it can handle the big swings of desert temperature. The main door jamb into the room had holes where light/air/water could easiy come in, likely the reason it was too when we turned the heat off. Also the clocks in the very fancy bathroom mirrors stayed the same exact time for our entire stay. For the price it wasn't up to my expectation, the idea is great and we loved sitting out watching the stars but I wouldn't pay $500/night for this unless i was assured that they had fixed their issues. read more

Excellent service and staff from the start. Very welcoming, showed each aspect of our stay to enjoy the most of the experience. We had clear skies and beautiful views from our dome!! We had dinner at the restaurant- food was superb, we chose the bison burgers! Light staff but exceeded our expectations and we definitely will come back for this again!! read more
