First of all, we and 3 other parties had to stand outside for 10 minutes waiting for someone to open the door to the lobby area to check in. Someone had put up a note stating they would be back soon - but didn't say when. After arriving and unlocking the door, she made no, as in zero, apologies. The room looked like it had last be updated in the 1980's. The 24" TV (YES it's that small!) had no modern stations. Who doesn't offer cable at a minimum? Is a smart TV that expensive? The room was tiny and had no closet. We had to wait 30 minutes to eat at their restaurant. The wait got up to over 45 minutes. How does that make sense? They brag about their great restaurant and how convenient it is to be located on the property, but all evening there was a minimum 30-minute wait. read more

We really enjoyed our stay at Bryce Pioneer Village. Only about 10 minutes from Bryce Canyon National Park, it never felt far at all. Originally we tried to book the Lodge through the national park reservations system, but put this and a couple others as backups. Being that we only booked our trip about 3 weeks in advance, we got lucky with this place. We were a little tentative because of the reviews (thin walls, etc), but when we got here we were pleasantly satisfied. Has a very Campy feel to it; from the hexagon bench swing setup, to the mini bridges, the volleyball court, and the giant chess setup, it looks like a place we could stay a few days and just hang out without even going anywhere really. But I digress...we rather enjoyed our stay. There is a restaurant in the middle of the property where we had dinner one night. (Note, it can get pretty packed cuz looks like everyone eats there, esp with the live music going on, it's a good time). Check-in was easy, and even though the place is an old school cabin/lodge, they have new electronic keyfobs to get in and out of your room. Just don't forget it because the doors will automatically lock on you. We had to get a spare from the front desk once during our stay. The room was small, as to be expected; not much common space, just enough for your beds, luggage (not too much) and other small items. We kept most stuff in the car (You can park directly in front your cabin, space willing. There are separated cabins as well, but we didn't book far enough in advance. But we def paid a lot less than we would have at the Lodge or another place closer to the park. But again, it's like 11 minutes out, so not a big deal. The shower is a little small, but we made it work. We were able to sleep well, and though you can hear things, it wasn't not too bad and everyone seemed to be pretty respectful of each other and didn't cause too much noise. I did feel bad because I loaded the car up late at night and our car was facing the cabins directly and the headlights from our rental shone directly into one of the rooms, but I quickly turned them off and apologies and they were okay with it and understood. They also have RV spots and a couple were there during our stay, so it seemed fine for them as well. read more

Really nice place to stay close to Bryce. We arrived around dinner time and check in for our queen bed cabin went very smoothly. This hotel has very pretty grounds with a lot to do - there are firepits, an outdoor chess board, a pool, swings, and more. We were just here for one night, so we didn't get to use most of the amenities, but we did take a walk around the property and everything was well maintained and appealing. We had a very good night's sleep here and would definitely sty here again and recommend it to friends who visit Bryce. read more

At first glance, this place looks awesome. Hot tub, a pool a restaurant on site with live music, volleyball court, fire pit, roasting marshmallows. I wanted to like this place so bad. I can't speak for the other rooms but we had a room in the house in the back of the property. The door that joins the adjacent unit has a large clearance at the bottom of it. When we checked in we had no neighbors and I just thought I hope we don't get any. We also had to sign a no cooking in our room agreement which I thought was odd. At around 8:30 our neighbors arrived, and we were greeted with the stinkiest cooking that filled our unit due to the large gap in the door. They did not speak English so we contacted management and informed them that they were cooking in the room. There were no other rooms available so we were out of luck and they did nothing to stop them from cooking. Our room stunk the entire night and made us all feel nauseous. The pillow was like a bag of cotton balls, extremely uncomfortable. Bathroom smelled. There was an air-conditioning unit, but it wasn't enough to cool the large room which was extremely hot. The restaurant on the property is great and fun with live music, but I would never stay at this hotel again. I got maybe two hours of sleep. read more

Bryce Pioneer Village is where breathtaking landscapes meet peaceful escapes! LOCATION Driving to this location was absolutely beautiful! It's roughly 10-15min drive away Bryce Canyon National Park. BIG PERK there's a gas station right next door/a convenient store + a local coffee shop. Tropic is a very tranquil & serene area, the majority of the time you just hear the trees whistling, birds, and bugs. PUBLIC AMENITIES Aside from renting out a small cabin, this place offers RV parking and its also a campground! There's a public pool, jacuzzi, a showdown restaurant where they play live *country* music, laundry area, a small indoor gym, public bonfire pit, and a grassy area at the front where you can play ball/soccer/volleyball/frisbee. It's a great spot for families with little ones! ROOM We rented out a queen size bed/single room (#18), that came with a small restroom, a tiny mini fridge, microwave, TV with very limited channels, and a semi-private backyard that features a hammock, two chairs, and small fire pit. For two people, you have your basic necessities with the exception of no kitchenette. In my opinion, the rooms are outdated, but at the same time it gives it an old folklore/pioneer country vibe aesthetic. ALSO, I stayed a week here and I believe many visitors come here to crash than spend time in their rooms. PRICE If you don't mind driving an extra 15mins to the park & not breaking the bank, this place is the perfect exception! You also get to explore the small businesses in Tropic which will helps the town thrive if you stay here. I would start looking at rates at least 6 months in advance. I would come back again if I had the chance! Only gave it 4 stars is due to how thin the wall are (you can hear your next door neighbors) & I think a little renovation could help improve areas of this place. read more

If you're looking for somewhere to camp outside the park, I recommend this place. It cost us $30 for a night, a little more pricey than in the park camping, but that's okay. They have showers in an impressively updated shower house/bathroom for camping guests to use. It was quite lovely! Not to mention, we practically had the pool and hot tub to ourselves that night. The restaurant service wasn't noteworthy. However, they have live music every single night from 6:30-9:30- and it was good too! The wifi is a bit spotty- so just be aware of that. As for the camping, they have a grass lawn where you can set up your tent anywhere- it's not specific sites. It worked well for us, considering the lush grass beds beneath our tent! I think this motel is a great one for your money! So our room was clean but definitely looked dated, however the complex as a whole was really cool and the staff were so nice! ***LOCATION*** Bear Bryce Canyon, so if you're planning a road trip like us, this motel may fall on your route and I highly recommend booking them! ***COMPLEX*** So it's not just motels, but also a campsite. They had a nice pool area and even an outdoor stage where it looks like they do concerts or shows. The chairs and lights they had around made the setup so cute, I wish we could've caught a show while we were there, but unfortunately we were only there one night and had arrived late. I noticed there were no RVs there while we were there, but they did have communal bathrooms for the campers, that were open. We were in our lintel room and someone was using the restroom bf showering (we were 4) and I really needed to use the restroom, so I checked the communal ones across from our room and no one was there, so I went there. I'm sure those are mainly reserved for the campers, but are all open and it was nice to be able to run over while ours was occupied, and there weren't any campers this day so I hopefully wasn't bothering anyone :) if you are camping though, they had 2 showers and 2 or 3 toilets per bathroom (they had one men's and one women's) so very easy to grab one and plenty of space! ***STAFF*** The staff were so kind! We got in so late, so I had called them before close and let them know we wouldn't make it in time, they said no worries, and we're able yo leave our room key in a safe spot where we could grab it ourselves when we got there and skip checkin! ***CONCLUSION*** Definitely a solid motel, clean and friendly staff! read more

Let me give all the positives. The vibe was Utah country cool. The receptionist at the front desk was friendly. The young woman waitress was the best waitress we've had in a long time...and we only came in for desert. The live country music and marshmallows around the fire were all extras we didn't expect. We really wanted to like this place. But...... ....the place is designed to reflect the pioneer era and as such the height of the toilets truly captures the squat people of 150 plus years ago would have done their business. So do your yoga and strengthen your legs because using the toilet is not easy. In fact it's painful if you have knee problems. You literally are forced to squat because the toilets are even too short for a 5"2 grandmother. And the beds, they were so hard and lumpy. If the place was trying to give us an authentic pioneer experience, they did. It was like sleeping on the ground. Wife, daughters and myself all were wide awake at 3AM having slept next to nothing. But the place was clean and the pillows were good. It was just the horrible mattresses, and the deflacto squaty potties, the two things people care most about when staying in a hotel/motel. Oh...the internet wouldn't work. Even with the correct password it wouldn't work and the front desk didn't know how to help. But if you like camping and a cool country utah vibe, this is an option. read more

Would not stay here again. Best part about it was the beautiful drive to and from Bryce Canyon from here. You get a metal key for the door knob and that's it. No dead bolt. I didn't think to travel with my Master Lock Security bar so my friend and I propped our luggage against the door. Glad we only stayed one night. Also the bathroom door creaked and disturbed sleep when the other person used the bathroom during the night. I complained and got a little compensation at least. The beds are comfortable, the room was clean and there's a free continental breakfast. The room numbers were hard to read at night, too. This place is for those of us "just passing through." Literally a bed and move on. The price was low, which was good. The rooms were in small cabins and rustic, although clean. The grounds were nice, they have a firepit and a chuck wagon restaurant that wouldn't serve us any beer unless we ordered food (ah Utah). The breakfast was substandard - store bought muffins and coffee. Plan to eat elsewhere. A short walk to town where there are more options for breakfast and dinner. read more

My friend and I booked a last minute stay at the Bryce Pioneer Village since every other hotel in the Bryce Canyon area was booked. The price was pretty cheap and we got exactly what we paid for. The best part of the property is the restaurant, which is run of the mill, average home cooking fare. The motel rooms are very dated and need some work. The walls are paper thin and the buildings really show their age on the inside. The shower was pretty dirty, which was a real buzzkill, considering I was looking to forward to taking a long shower after a full day of hiking. There is a hot tub, but I would call it a warm tub at best. At least the beds were somewhat comfortable and there's a roof over your head. A step up from sleeping outdoors, but I wouldn't recommend by any means. read more

This place was great. The room was totally fine had everything it should of had and had updated bathrooms. Theres a whole plot of land outside for Rvs and camping. They have a volleyball and soccer area which we also utilized. Theres a restaurant with live music on property and their food and drinks were pretty good. Firepit outside to roast marshmellows as well. They have a continental breakfast here too with toast and bagels and cereal. The normal selection of jellies and butter, orange juice and coffee. The front desk girl could be more pleasant and smile more but I'm not expecting her to enjoy her job dealing with some of the people in customer service that she has to. read more

I am in love with this place! I couldn't be happier with this find. My boyfriend and I were traveling through Utah National Parks and stayed in this place for a few nights. I can honestly say this was one of the highlights of my trip! The staff is very friendly and the rooms are sturdy and clean while keeping that rustic Southwestern feel. The rooms are set up like a hotel room with the standard bed, bathroom with showers, and neat little shampoo and soaps on the counter ;-). However, the rooms we stayed in were actually individual cabins! A very nice break from the long hallways with doors on each side. Although, from what I could tell, there were motel rooms available from this place as well. Maybe for a slightly cheaper price? Speaking of prices, this place is a STEAL! the private cabin we stayed in was less than the cost of motel and hotel rooms in the same area (note: 15 min. drive outside major tourist locations like Bryce National Park, Kodachrome State Park and select Grand-Escalante hiking trails). The price of the room is well worth it considering you also have complimentary breakfasts, pool/ jacuzzi access, community campfire, and restaurant attached to the property. The restaurant is excellent as well! styled from a hollowed-out barn, this place is very spacious yet intimate and cozy. They open from 5-9pm every day with a yummy variety of classic southwestern dishes including burgers, salads, BBQ chicken, steaks, ribs, fish, and MORE! This exceeded our expectations. The photos online made it look more "rustic". We stayed in the 3 queen cabin. Very good price for the space. We had our own bathroom and extra sink, with fridge, microwave and tv. The grounds are amazing and we'll kept. We felt like we were really on vacation. New pool and hot tub area. The view isn't much to look at there, but we were there to swim. Showdowns is their restraurant, the food was good and open later than everywhere else. Breakfast in the morning was cereal, oatmeal, coffee, toast, yogurt, peaches and muffins. We would recommend staying here, but maybe choose the bigger rooms since others have said the smaller rooms were cramped. The staff was all wonderful! We enjoyed this stay! Only reason for 4 stars is it is a bit farther from the entrance to Bryce Canyon than expected. read more

This is a quaint nice motel. The a/c worked fine. The rooms were clean. Not too many channels on the cable. The WiFi worked good. The ambience was really nice with seats out on the porches. Now for some constructive criticism. For the price which was a little steep there should have been a phone in the room and a guide to the local restaurants and not just theirs. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker. No fridge. Small microwave. The rooms are very small but as I said they were clean. To reach the office you had to walk over across a small bridge and through a yard. Just put in a phone and food guide. It wouldn't hurt to lower the rates. We paid 135.00 for two beds. read more

Checked in late on 8/31/2018. DO NOT STAY HERE! We stayed in cabin 28. It was awful; full tilt to entire cabin which you can feel the moment you step in. The slope is bad...furnishings awful. Only 2 lights overhead. The worst: queen bed! It literally was made with a sheet draped over the mattress! No mattress cover and/or pad.just a thin worn Cotten sheep draped on it. Gross! When you lie down, you realize your feet are higher than your head due to slope of the cabin. Three pancake thin pillows...awful. Baseboards haven't been dusted in months. We ran out of there first thing in the morning...and noticed the outside cabin roof has shingles dangling off of the roof! We were robbed: $160 for unhygienic run down disgusting crap. Front office zero help. Run away, people! We want a refund! read more

We stayed at one of their cabins for $65 a night and we did not like it. There were spider webs (spiders included) in every corner, which, if the room had been cleaned in a proper way for the last year, obviously would not be there. The cabins were also incredibly hot, while the outside temperature wasn't that high at all. No fridge. Old TV. WiFi didn't reach the room, had to go close to the reception. The girls at the reception looked like they didn't care so much. The place is located in Tropic, which is not a nice village, and were there are only two places to eat: a pizza place and an American restaurant. We tried the second one and found the food bad and overpriced. They had good Utah brewed beer though. I would not recommend staying in Tropic, and definitely not at Bryce Pioneer Village. read more

Think we stayed in room 52. Pleasantly suprized. Room was clean. Shower was newly tiled and powerful. We stayed 2 days and no problems at all. Breakfast was simple but filling and lots of orange juice. I don't know why people are harping negs, this is a basic, family oriented and safe place. It's well maintained. The air worked excellent and cable tv reception on the 32" tv was perfect. It's like camping out but with a roomy bed, air and hot showers. Only negative was the towels were like "sandpaper." Nice people at the desk. Honest dealing. I paid $5 less than what I was quoted on their website. Book through them directly it is cheaper and their own site offers discount codes. read more

This place was so cute and charming, was definitely looking forward to staying there. However, we set up our tent in an open grass area which was fine, except when we went to go to sleep. It appears that the owners yard is at the end of the road right where the tent area is. It's not well kept and we were woken up in the middle of the night by dogs non-stop barking and then their rooster that started his morning coo at 4 am. I would not recommend tenting here. We ended up coming back after our hike to use the shower and found another campground for the second night, ate our money but had a much more peaceful night of sleep. read more

The outdoor space was fantastic -- tons of seating, a nice deck, and several patio areas (unfortunately it was too chilly for us to take advantage of it). The rooms are long overdue for some TLC. It felt like a bedroom in a mobile home from the 80s, cramped and dingy. Shower was kind of lousy, and towels were small and thin. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 days while visiting Bryce Canyon, the check in was alright, just another person who hates her job, but I was excited because I love staying in log cabins while on vacation, we got to our cabin walked in and immediately thought it was a joke. For 2 nights it cost $216, you walked in and you were met with a small full bed ( they claim it's a queen size, but I know what a queen is) 1 table, tv that barely worked extra small bathroom, and a door that was the length of the room (about 7 feet) that door led to your neighbor. You don't get a fridge, so everything that you have that needs to be chilled, you have to have a cooler, there's no ice, so you have to go to the towns store which closes at 8pm. They have a restaurant on the property but didn't waste our time with it..at the restaurant they play live music which is loud country (sounds like a dying animal) Bryce Canyon is about 15 miles away from this nasty hole in the wall. For me I view safety for my wife and I a very top priority, that being said there's no smoke alarm, no fire alarm, nor is there any fire extinguisher in this cabin, nor did I see any on property. The door locks were the $1.99 flimsy locks for sheds, so safety is totally out of the question. Please save yourself the hassle and nightmare of this place it's not worth it..oh I forgot to mention the breakfast there..breakfast is served in the same room as when you checked in, it's also the store (if that's what they call it) they serve stale bread, dry and hot cereal ( the kind you just add hot water too) coffee, and the littlest danish I've ever seen..upon the best day (check out) I went in to return the key and saw people eating over the store merchandise, yes literally eating over the clothes that they have for sale...disgusting place read more

Breakfast was the most terrible and cheap of comped breakfasts we had throughout rural Utah. Other than that it was a place just OK for resting and keep going the next day.
