Functional is the word I'd use to describe this motel. There are a variety of options available in the town, all with differing amenities. For us (my friend and I), we needed a shower and bed between hikes and that it was. Clean and... efficient- lots of outlets, there was a micowave and a mini fridge. Very thin blankets- no comforter, but they gave us extra upon request, marginal pillows, but a comfy bed. The shower was slow to drain but the water was hot. Lots of towels provided. Cold continental breakfast included and available next door at Ebenezer's (or a hot breakfast buffet available for extra cost across the street at Ruby's Inn. Wow, this is one of the least functional motels that I have ever stayed in. "Lodge" tends to suggest a more upscale place, but this is an ultra-basic, old-style motel. I have encountered some worse places...but not many. The basic issue is lack of functionality. With two beds, a (tiny) desk and two chairs, there's no room for anything else. (By the way, we did NOT pull the short straw--all the rooms are this way. The only exception is rooms with 1 king bed, instead of 2 queen beds. But there is only a handful of these in the whole establishment). Wouldn't you want a place to hang your clothes? Maybe a closet or a wardrobe, or, for criminey's sake, even some hooks in the wall. But no, it seems you do not deserve this. You probably came with a suitcase, maybe two if there's two of you. Well, there's no place to put it! No rack, not even any space on the floor. We ended up putting our suitcases on the second bed. Too bad if you have someone who needs a bed to themselves. We would also like to do yoga in our room. Well, two mats just barely fit in beyond the foot of the beds. But then you may want to move your arms. Too bad, you will hit the dresser or the TV. The space is so tiny that one of the two desk chairs can't even fit so you're sitting at the table--you have to be facing 90º away. The staff are also sub-par, except for the maintenance man. We met him and chatted, and he was charming. To check in took a 1/2 hour wait, since the management lets one of the two clerks go on break even when there is a crush of customers. Many of the customers are foreigners who need all sorts of hand-holding, and so even though there were only 4 families ahead of us, it took a full half hour. On checking out, we encountered one of the most sour clerks ever. She actually scowled at me when I handed her back the room keys. The room is clean and the location is convenient, but that's all I can say for this establishment. Just to make it very clear, this is way BELOW the quality of a Motel 6, not something on par with it. However, if you can't score a room at the park's own lodge, your choices shrivel greatly. (On the other hand, if you do get a room at the lodge, your wallet shrivels greatly, especially in view of the ancient rooms there). P.S. The "Ruby's" outfit owns every single business in Bryce Canyon City. So don't think that you will get something different by going to a different motel of theirs. There is absolutely no food served at the motel itself. If you want to buy breakfast, you go to the Ruby's restaurant across the street. Only tried breakfast there. This is a place where your grandpa would have been comfortable with, circa 1955. Or think Cracker Barrel, or Shilo's type of backwoods establishments. Acceptable for standard American fare, and there was not much problem with the service, other than that the waiter forgot tea for one of us. I much preferred breakfast at the Park lodge, but that is a bit pricier. It is more upscale though and friendlier. read more

Everything you need in a hotel at a national park, but thats it. room was clean, everything worked, only 1 tv channel though HGTV (but iyou shouldnt be watching much if you are at Bryce). Nothing special at all though. dont go looking for luxury, just an acceptable hotel. Staff could be nicer though, booked it on Orbitz the same day, but much earlier (morning and arrived at night) and front desk couldnt find my reservation. she said i should have just called them directly. finally it showed up and she said her co worker must have just transferred it into the computer. The area is great right next to bryce canyon national Park you are really just paying $87 dollars for the location. But the carpet was roughly 12 years old and you could tell. Toilet did not flush if you wiped twice. read more

Fair price for a regular hotel We had a problem with the flush on the toilets and its been dealt with right away. (thanks mister mex boy) There is only one restaurant opened til 1st May but np with it. Extra pro is that you have full access to an inside pool nearby (located in the hotel of the restaurant) and that its opened till 10PM; super comfy after a day walking in the wild. read more

It's good for a night or two tops. This place is exceedingly mediocre in every respect. The bed is fine, the blankets are thin but fine, the ac worked. The room didn't have shampoo and one of our lights didn't work. On the plus side, there was free breakfast to-go bags despite all of the Covid related difficulties going on in the hotel world which I thought was a nice gesture. read more

This lodging experience was the worst I have experienced by far. Although the amenities such as television, free WiFi, coffeemaker, etc are up to par for this price point, in my room at least, the amount of bugs/mosquitos is appalling. A swarm of bugs congregate over the two lamps in the middle of the room, while many others scatter about and land just about anywhere. We resorted to keeping the lamps on during the night and leaving the A.C. on high to keep the bugs more or less in one area. The bed nearest the A.C. was unusable due to the amount of insects that land there. read more

We tried to cancel our reservation due to wildfire in the area...the Lodge staff refused, said roads were still open so even though the area was smoke filled who cares! Really? Your staff should....I will definatly not be driving in to a smoke filled area AND I will for sure not consider staying here for next years Astonomy Festival. read more

OK, we didn't get the upgrade, and so were in the actual Bryce View Lodge, or as I called it, the "Parking Lot Hotel" as it is literally in the parking lot to the new, fancier hotel. We drove up from Tucson with minimal stops and upon check-in, requested to use the office bathroom while they got our room keycards in order. We were denied that request. So we hurried over to our room to find that they had given us a room already occupied (bags were there but the people were not). So we headed back and insisted to use the bathroom while they cleared up the mix-up. This time they relented. After giving us our new key card, they commented that the other guests, staying in the room they originally let us into, wouldn't be able to get back in their room since they re-keyed the lock to our cards. Nice. We get to our room, which was basically a small hotel room. I'm not picky, so I care little for the amenities. But in a review, well, they do count for something. There was a tv, with a remote that did not work. There was a coffee pot, which also did not work. When I tried to bring that up at the office, it was packed, and since staying there but a single night, whatever. Upon checking out the next morning, we found the office closed with a sign that said to just leave the key card in the mail slot. I guess that is one way to keep from getting complaints! The nice thing was that it is indeed very close to Bryce Canyon. Very, very close. And we were able to book a horseback trip that we could literally walk across the street to join. And that ride alone, was the major highlight to my recent trip to Utah. Phenomenal and not worth missing! read more

Hotel is perfectly fine, no frills, which is what we wanted. We aren't spending much time inside, right? Room was clean, plenty of towels, comfortable beds. Coffee maker and microwave, wall ac/hater. There is also a mini fridge, but we didn't notice til morning cuz it was inside a cabinet. Dated, yes, but perfectly fine for an inexpensive hotel where we just need to shower and sleep. Lots of reviews say receptionist was rude. That wasn't our experience. She was by no means friendly, but not rude. Overall I'd stay here again. read more

Seriously best place we ate through Arizona and Utah! The food was a good portion, it was well priced and the environment was lovely. Our server was kind, it felt like you walk through time stepping into the lodge. The hubby and I both agreed that we would have come here the entire time had we known how good it was! read more

This place is very affordable and clean. Free wifi. Very nice place to stay and walk to everything the Bryce Canyon shuttle also picks up at the corner to enter the park. I would definitely stay there again. read more

Clean and comfy, expected rooms to be old and musty from some reviews, but, seemed like it had been updated, new carpet, decor, etc....I'm very sensitive to mucky and musty, and was quite satisfied. for the money, we got a good deal, end of season.... breakfast, was a nice effort, but good for a quick bite, again, could've been because it was the end of season and it seems the whole town was shutting down haha read more

Just an update: I got an email from Jade from Bryce View Lodge and she helped me through this and kept in touch with me until it got resolved. But I'd like to thank YELP in particular because if I hadn't posted this review she would never have known the issues I had with their staff/accountant. All I got back was a credit card dispute - won in my favor for the erroneous charge which is what I've been asking in the first place. I still won't come back to this hotel ever nor will I recommend it. Unless the staff are all as nice and pleasant as Jade. I really hope they listen to my complaints and have everyone trained in customer service. read more

Would have been better sleeping outdoors. Nearly zero water pressure from sink. Shower head mount falling off wall- exposing open hole into wall. Old yellowed shower curtain. Other patched holes not painted over. Toilet tank cover cracked. Air Conditioning Unit dusty and so in need of maintenance when turned on it sounded as if it was going to just blow up. Ceiling popcorn only covered part of ceiling- clearly a sign of an unfinished renovation. So many mosquitoes inside the room it's hard to believe that the four times we opened the door THAT many flew in at once- we would have seen an invading squadron that large with the naked eye. We had to spray ourselves with bug spray before bed. And on top of everything else, the Man at the front desk was so utterly rude it seemed he was acting like he didn't have to act nice because the place was sold out for the night already- which is a shock to me. The woman at the front desk was very nice, however- which made me feel sorry she had to work alongside such a sourpuss. It's clear the owners of this place don't care. read more

The rooms were somewhat small and the whole experience felt a bit like a tourist trap. No free breakfast, and you have to walk about 5 minutes to get to breakfast and other amenities. There aren't a lot of options in Bryce Canyon, but I'd say spend the extra few bucks to stay somewhere else. read more

Two haggard and unhappy people met us at the desk at 7:00p.m. It was obviously the end of the tourist season for them and they were in no mood to welcoem anyone. We wanted to stay close to Bryce to get an early start, so I took the room anyway. FILTH!!! the carpets looked like they had not been shampooed for years. The old coffee grounds and someone else's coffee were still in the coffee pot. The refrigerator did not work...and when I leaned down to chekc the plug, I nearly vomitted when I saw all of the food and crap on the floor. I went to the ice machines....so that I could refrigerate the food for the next day's hike....surprise.. neither ice machine was operable. and of course, the crabby old people at the office had now locked their doors exactly at 8:00p.m. and would not open until noon the next day. There was no maintenance number on their "guest services" list.....how do you run a hotel of this size without an after hours number??? Then...the tub.....After three minutes in the shower, there was two inches of water standing in the tub.....the hair clogging the tub had obviously been building up for a quite awhile....guess the maids don't clean the tubs either since they would have noticed such a severe clog..... so my daughter went without a bath and I prayed that at least the sheets had been washed. Bryce was spectacular, but I will never buy anything from the famous "Ruby's Inn" because I know they are the owners of this piece of junk hotel as well. If you don't intend to provide service in the "off" season, then close your *&^% hotel instead of charging tired people for FILTH! yuck yuck yuck read more

First of all, there is NO VIEW of Bryce from this place, and WATCH OUT if you book at Bryce View Lodge online. You will not be able to change your mind and receive a refund, even if you do not stay there for the number of nights you booked. Very noisy at night, not well-maintained. read more
