The owner of the company came to give me an estimate and way exaggerated the extent of the problem on my garage door, even suggesting that it would be better to simply get a new door. Worst company ever I called for door repair first was quoted $149 for service call and said they would come at 730pm which was fine bc I would get home by then. Next thing he called me and said he will be there in 10mins when I said I'm not home yet he still came while my teenager were home. He called with repair quote of $1800 I said no thank you. Then asked for $189 service fee I said you I can pay with a credit card since I'm not home. He demanded cash over the phone and refused to leave my house while my teenagers were home alone. I was forced to pull over and Zelle a different # the payment. It felt like a ransom situation he still wouldn't leave after receiving the payment even when my daughter asked him to leave. Zero star is more like it. Company replaced Springs two years ago, door never worked correctly after that, came back to correct, but left door imbalanced. Roller line came loose recently, owner came with a trainee, walked into the garage. Without any inspection, said he needed to replace a two year spring. After argument, he agreed to use same spring, but wanted $400 to re-adjust the spring. Told him to leave. Thanks to youtube, I not only fixed the door better than his company did, but did not need any new parts. They are a scam, and use scare tactics to intimidate customers into unnecessary repairs. Sadly, the owner boasted of 14 years in the business. Wrong business I'll say. read more

In July 2018, we had BSD replace the springs on our garage door. They charged us $300, and, written on our receipt, was that the springs have a 5 year warranty. Yesterday, the spring broke. We called BSD and were told no, they don't have a 5 year warranty on springs. I told them it was on my invoice. She looked it up, and said that yes, ok they'd honor it- but we needed to pay $385 in labor alone for them to change the springs. Since that was more than we had originally paid for parts and labor combined, it seemed as though they really were not honoring the warranty, but just pretending that the price of labor had doubled or tripled. We then asked to speak to a supervisor. We spoke to Mike, who claimed he was a supervisor. He told us that parts and labor for the job was over $900 now. (Over 3x what it was in 2018?!!!). We said that seemed a little shady, like they were just saying that so we'd pay parts and labor again even though it was under warranty. Mike then raised his voice and said that we were just cheap and didn't want to pay. At that point, we we're getting upset as well, so said we'd just that the parts- for free, since they were under warranty to circumvent the exorbitant labor charges (which we believe actually included the parts as well), but Mike told us it doesn't work that way. We called 3 other garage door companies and received 3 quotes: $260, $275, and $385. All 3 included parts and labor. This company is clearly refusing to honor their warranty and attempting to get us to pay all over again. Pretty shady. read more

I wish there was an option to leave zero star!! This company is a scam. Our garage door wasn't opening and closing properly so we contacted them. Technician came and he figured the wall mount has one screw missing so he fixed that part and then he "fixed the chain which he claimed was loose". But instead of tightening a chain he did the opposite and the next day garage door stopped working. When I called the technician he said to call the office. I called the office and they said,"oh that was a technician and he didn't know what he was doing and I will send my partner and will fix and will charge you for the service call and the labor". When I told him that I already paid service charge and labor too. He got mad and called me a liar and started cursing in Arabic and then in English.... Extremely unprofessional behaviour. I could hear in the background someone else started screaming and cursing too.. I am reporting them to an Attorney General office as well. I would strongly recommend whoever had a bad experience should contact Attorney General office. We need to report those kind of scam artists to a proper authorities. read more

This review is for BSD, who I called. But Invoice listed three company names. Premium Garage, EK Garage, BSD garage. Called them because previous owner has service done and there was a company sticker on the door. They would not quote on phone and charge $50 for an estimate. They came out within one hour and quoted over $400 to install two new torsion springs. Price was too high and told Tech I would not pay, repair should be $250 max based on internet. He offered a price of $300 and said he would reduce his labor cost. Repair was done in 30 mins. Everything works well and Tech was very friendly. The springs would have cost me $100.00 at HD. So they made $200.00 for one hour of work. Overall the service was good, the pricing not so good. Will most likely find another vendor next time. read more

Should be zero stars. I found these guys on homeadvisor.com, and requested a bid for a new spring on my garage door. When they attempted to call back I was in a meeting, and wasn't able to answer the phone. Instead of leaving a voicemail, they called four times in a row that I know of as I had to shut my phone off. When I was able to get in touch with them they quoted the best price, and could be there the next morning so I let the juvenile phone antics slide. I take the next day off of work, and schedule some other errands for the afternoon. BSD Garage couldn't bother to show up or even call within the scheduled window (10-12). At 1:00, an hour after they should have been there, I texted to cancel the appointment. After reading the rest of the reviews on these guys I'm glad they didn't show up, and I wish I had read the reviews before booking them. Do not hire this "contractor ". read more

Wow. I wish I could leave a lower review. The tech showed up aggressive and angry. He continued to speak on his blue tooth while working in my parents home. Which wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't speaking so loudly while dropping f bombs. He then started aggressively talking down to my step mother. It was completely unacceptable. After we asked him to reprogram the old remotes. He decided it couldn't be done and threw them all in the trash. When we asked for the remotes back he told us to go dig in the trash for him. One star is a generous review of this company. I asked the service technician a direct question and found out later the answer he provided was not even close to accurate. In short, his answer suited his best interest and not the customer. When I called the manager at BSD Garage Doors to complain, I was told the technician was instructed to answer the way he did. The work done cost much more than what it should have been. The materials for the job were extremely overpriced. The prices for materials on the bill totaled $424 but the technician wrote $432 in the sub total. I was able to find all of the parts on the invoice locally for less than $150. Wow now I realize why this company has consistantly poor reviews. We called because a spring broke and found a receipt from prior house owner that had 5 year warranty. Called number on this receipt and not only did the owner, whom apparently puts his private cell # on receipts as we learned when we were scolded first for calling, refuse to honor the warranty but also was rude and bragged abt being too rich to deal with us. He went into detail about what the work was going to entail and how much it was going to cost prior to doing the work. He explained everything perfectly to me and was professional and kind. I had to call the police because one of their repairmen became agitated, kicked over my coffee cup shattering it, he swore at me, came at me, said nasty things, all in front of our children. It was terrifying. When I called the company to report the incident, they denied ever being at our house. Please beware of this company. I want to start this review by stating I knew nothing about garage door repairs and use google to find local vendors who could assist me when my garage door stopped working after the first big chill. BSD Garage Doors, Inc. was my third call and I went with them as they could get a technician out the quickest and would not charge for the service call if work was to be done. The technician came out on November 12. He was prompt and called upon arrival as stated. The issue I was having was the motor was still operating but the piece that holds the manual and automatic switch was not connecting to the door. As it had warmed up, when the technician switched the piece to the auto side, the door worked fine. He stated it was still in working order and didn't need to be replaced. He called the office to speak to the owner and offered me Maintenance on the door for $99.99. I asked him if this would get me through the winter and he stated,It Should." I told him I was aware I would need to replace the motor within the next year or so and would do the maintenance if the cost could be used towards the price of a full replacement.He spoke to the owner once again and per my receipt, "Chain opener $400 totak in the next 6 mo - 1 remote only $50 back from maintenance." These were terms that I agreed to for him to perform the maintenance. I do not know what this "maintenance" involved, however, it took less than 15 minutes. After discussing it with the owner it was just a greasing of the rail. When I arrived home at 10 PM the next day, I had the exact same issue with the door, the motor worked, however, it did not attach to the door. I called the office number expecting to leave a message but spoke to Ron, the owner. While I agree I was not in the happiest state of mind he was aggressive and told me, "We don't guarantee the work and you needed a garage door and didn't get one, that's not our fault." I explained that his tech told me this would work for the time being. After a long and very frustrating call, Ron agreed to send a tech out the next day and apply the full price I had paid to a new motor bring the price from $450 to $350. I tried everything to get the door to work that night and in the morning after I got the call the tech was on the way, I went down and switched the toggle to auto and the door worked again. I explained what I did to the tech when he arrived and stated this was possibly a malfunction in the metal bracing as the motor was still operating. It also occurs only when it got very cold. When he looked at it he could not find anything wrong but stated that there may be in issue with the rail, however he didn't have a replacement rail and the price I paid was only for the motor and a rail would be another $100 bringing my price to $550(the now $450 plus the $99.99 I already paid). He recommended the rail replacement as well. AT this point with a working garage I opted to hold off ...I also wanted to comparison shop in this "deal" I was getting as I felt more than mislead at this point. When the first big snow hit on 11/25, the garage door acted up a third time. I contacted BSD as I money invested in them and wanted to offer them a chance to replace the motor AND rail. AT this point, Ron gave me an explanation of a chip being bad but i was already in a position to just replace the motor, I asked if he would honor the original price with the rail(a total of $450) which he declined or settle on $400 which he also declined rudely as if I was asking for something out of the norm. I was just looking for compensation for a maintenance trip that amounted to nothing. I contacted a service under a reputable home repair name and explained the situation. I was told every service they do includes the rail and two remotes(Something I never questioned but wasn't given). While it is a completely objective view, the service writer explained that all products should come with the rail. After the work was completed to my satisfaction, I sent an email to BSD concerning my poor experience and the fact I paid for a maintenance that accomplished nothing. It has been over two weeks and BSD has failed to respond. As per other reviews, the owner Ron is not customer service friendly and argumentative with customers, He is also overcharging for items commonly included in other companies bids. Ada was great when I called on Friday night with a broken spring for my garage door. She scheduled a technician to come out between 8 and 9 Saturday morning. She called me on Saturday at 8:00 to say that Eli was on his way and would be there around 8:30. Eli arrived almost exactly at 8:30 and I showed him the broken spring. He quickly measured the spring, told me what it would cost, and answered all of the questions I asked. He quickly replaced the broken spring and the corresponding spring on the other side. He reset the rest of the door and checked to make sure it was balanced. It works perfectly and he gave me additional advice on what I could do yearly to keep my garage door spring in its best shape. The cost was totally reasonable and their service was excellent. I hope I don't need them any time soon, but if I do, I will call BSD Garage Doors. read more

These guys came out and did a garage door opener for my elderly mother, and mounted the safety sensors on the opener mounting rails pointed at one another bypassing the safety device entirely. When i called to inquire and have them fix it, they actually insinuated that my mother asked that it be that way. This company is terrible!! DO NOT HIRE THEM! I'm mad at myself for not reading previous Yelp reviews that pretty much summed up my experience with this company- Awful! Honestly, the technicians that came out to my house were nice guys, but seemed confused on how to fix my garage door. They said repairing it might be an option and that it might last for a few years or I could just buy a new door for $1200. When I called the technician the next day to let him know that the door was now sagging in the middle, I told him that I wasn't sure if the replacements brackets would be enough to fix it and that we might need to consider a whole new door. He went and purchased the brackets ($80 a piece) anyways and said that he would assess when he got to my house later that day. He came to the appointment late and could not make a decision on whether it should be fixed with the brackets or would require a whole new door. He called his boss, Ron, and they ended up getting into an argument while I was standing there. The technician said Ron would come out to assess the door in 2 days. I was frustrated because it seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. I decided to get a second opinion from another company and they promptly came out the very next day. They were very professional and told me things about my damaged garage that the other technician didn't seem to know. I decided to sign with him and cancel with BSD Garage doors. When I called to explain that I was going with a different company, Ron, the manager, proceeded to aggressively argue with me and was super unprofessional about me choosing another company. He wanted to charge me for the parts his technician had already purchased without having a final decision on what we were doing with the garage door. I told him that was not my problem. He proceeded to get very angry and yell at me and had the nerve to ask if they could still do the job. When I told him to cancel my job, he said "thanks for the $100 bucks". I guess that's how they stay in business... locking customers into a $100 down payment and then providing crappy service so they'll cancel, but lose their deposit. Overall, I found this company to be overpriced and they lock you into a down payment on their first visit to your house, which is non-refundable. Look elsewhere! read more

The tech came on time. A prior company diagnosed our problems would cost approx. 350 bucks. I thought this was crazy. BSD diagnosed the same issues as minimal work and simply charged a 79 buck service charge. Everything worked perfectly fine. This is exactly what I thought it should be. No added padded costs. Rarely in life do I experience such excellent customer service as exhibited by BSD Garage Doors! I called them after the company that had serviced the door in the past was a no call, no show. Thanks, my garage got water in due to massive rain!! I needed a door seal replaced that had been chewed by mice . Plus a new opener since b- i- l drove off with one over a year ago and can't find it. They were able to schedule service immediately for an hour later. Eli was prompt and personable. He replaced the seal swiftly, with Eli discussing and reviewing the job with me upon completion. Had to have a return visit for the opener due to the fact that I gave the brand name for the drive unit rather than the wireless unit. received a call that he was running 45 minutes late to confirm timing would still work. Snd only replace the springs. and then two weeks later the garage won't go up again what the hell I called and they said that doesn't sound like it's a Springs and if it's not the Springs it's not covered under the warranty. So then I checked and the gear is completely bald so he never check. And when I asked how much a gear would cost he told me period but said oh you but might as well just pay for a new garage system because yours is outdated when it's only 22 years old. And I already invested $300 in the springs so he saying that I should get a new garage system that's $500 and forget about that $300 that I just spent literally a month ago. Bs. He had a thick accent so I could tell he's not American. Very rude and arrogant. People with bad attitude and social skills should not work in the service industry. I wish I could give them 0 stars! BSD overcharges for it's substandard service. They changed my garage door springs and when they finished, the garage door would jerk, shake, hesitate and bind upon closing. Then they wanted $99 to repair their faulty work I pointed out that their workmanship is warranted (supposedly) on their invoice, sales slip. The technician told me "Learn to live with it." I had to call another garage door service who found that BSD Garage Doors had installed an improper bolt on the end plate. That bolt interfered with the movement of the cable pulley. The new serviceman installed a proper bolt. The problem was fixed for another $90 for the new repair company. BSD cost me an additional $90 because they screwed up and absolutely refused to stand behind their incompetent and shoddy work. If I would have read these reviews I would have never used BSD Garage Doors and now I sadly know why. read more

Appointment was set through Amazon HomeServices for 8am-11am on Saturday morning. I get a call from Ada at 8am morning of the appointment that due to "unforeseen circumstances" they will be there from 10am-12am, no problem things happen, thanked her for letting me know. Get a voicemail at 11:17 that they can't find my house on GPS. You had my address for a week, a simple internet search provided my location. Your message said you could be there at 12 noon but would charge me wether or not you actually completed the installation. I called Ada at 12pm and she said they could maybe come in the afternoon. I got upset and asked Ada what the problem was and why an 8-11am appointment window turned into 10-12 then maybe in the afternoon maybe not at all, all while charging me regardless of them actually ever coming to my house. Ada apparently didn't have a good answer for me, got upset, said she was canceling the service, ha! What service?, and hung up on me. I reported their lack of service, lack of ability to keep an appointment, and lack of manners to Amazon home services. They in fact recommend I turn to Yelp and other sources to report them. Buyer beware. The person at Amazon home services said I would not be able to leave feedback because BSD did not complete the job. He did in fact encourage me to try a review on Yelp and other platforms for that reason and to express my negative experience with BSD. read more
