Worst dental experience ever, at the Muldoon road location! We are traveling through Alaska and I had to have a crown put on. After the install of the permanent crown I could immediately tell that my bite was way off. The doctor told me it was fine and that I should come back in a few days if I still thought it was off. I explained that wasn't possible since we were just traveling thru. Now two days later I can't chew solid food because all my bite force is on only one tooth, only one tooth is touching. I now have to go find another dentist to do emergency work to try and fix this. And this is after I already paid $2300 out of pocket after insurance! My fiancé came in to have his tooth pulled and left traumatized. They gave him laughing gas and didn't even allow it to kick in before they began poking and stabbing. He was in pain for the entire procedure to which he informed the dentists and they told him to "please keep still for five more seconds", he was in pain to the point of stopping them multiple times to take a second. Absolutely horrific. I will never ever recommend this place or BTY dental in general. Incompetent and lacks empathy. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Incompetence! Sketchy! Disorganized! Doctors are highly unskilled, they XRay and then in the middle of your procedure they bring documents saying that you agreed to medications and the XRay, The Admin/Billing department makes you feel like a criminal when they're the ones who tells you there's no bill but realizes months later that they forgot. Like, Guys! Contact me via Email or Snail Mail! Do you even have an Email Address? Like, Dude! You guys need to keep better Records! And what's up with pausing in the middle of my Procedure to bring me paperwork to sign. Felt like they were holding me hostage, like as if they wouldn't complete the procedure unless I signed. This is a business that cares about their quotas not your teeth. Aside from being told I could get my teeth cleaned-- only to be informed once I was in the chair I had to get an X ray first...totally wasted their time and mine. I had an Xray 3 weeks ago. I followed their rules. I took a referral slip to my old dentist and returned the very next day with it completed. My insurance will not cover 2 dental xrays in less than a month from 2 different dentists. (Yes, I called my insurance to ask) When you are ONLY focused on quotas and making money-- you do not busy yourself with such details. I think they lost my dental transfer paperwork but did not want to tell me. Much easier just to force me to PAY for more xrays...that I do not need and cannot afford. read more

I can't believe this office! My fiancé came in and had his wisdom teeth removed and two others pulled and they gave him some ibuprofen and 2 little gauze pads and sent him on his way. They also explained his after care to him when he was still loopy so he didn't remember anything, and they didn't come talk to me and let me know what was going on. BTY dental billing is so bad. They make you pay more each visit. Then they won't even bother calling you to let you know that you over paid. To anyone who went to this dental clinic please do check your EOB. Their billing is always wrong I'm tired dealing with them. My family had been going here and I even recommended them to our friends. Each visit they will collect more even if you tell them about how much your insurance covers. They won't accept that they would go with whatever they want to collect. I am 66 years old and have been going to dentists since I was 12. My jaw was hurting so I went in for x-rays to locate the problem. Tried to up sell me on cleanings, etc... when I called for an appointment but told the scheduler just wanted to find what the problem was thus x-rays and an exam charge. My jaw was hurting pretty bad but had been taking ibuprofen and tylenol to manage the pain. After the exam it was determined I had a tooth that needed to be removed and I had infection in my gums because of it. I asked for antibiotics to help with the infection and some pain killers to help with the pain till I had the tooth removed. They gave me antibiotics but as I was leaving Dr. Kim said the only time the pain will go away is when the tooth is removed. I get it but it seemed kind of insensitive as I was in pain and he didn't seem to care. The guy at the front desk was great but again it all came down to money. I had jobs to do so I couldn't get my tooth pulled until on Friday November the 8th 2024. Got it scheduled and went in at 3pm for the removal. Dr Choi injected me 4 times with I assume is novacaine to deaden the gums. The second injection he apparently hit a nerve and I almost jumped off the chair and moaned, the 3rd was the same. I have never had that happen before it felt like I was hit with 477 volts. After all of that I felt nothing. He pulled the tooth, cleaned it up and packed the socket with bone material for a future dental implant. As I was leaving I asked for them to call in some pain meds and they said they would. Had a call at 5:18 pm for a 6 plex without heat so I went to take care of it . At that point my jaw was starting to throb and as I left the job to go get my pain medication I was having a hard time driving as it hurt so much. Got to the pharmacy and waiting in line I was almost crying as it hurt so much. Got the script and went to my van and opened the bag and they had prescribed me Ibuprofen. I couldn't believe it! I have ibuprofen at home from Costco so what the f***. Last year I had 2 hip replacements and then I fell and broke my Femur so I know pain and this was worse than any of that. I still a day later cannot believe that BTY dental cares about you as a person and its all about the money. If you want your teeth whitened or cleaned or need immediate care they do accommodate but never think pain management is part of their agenda as it is not. I think I will be going somewhere else for my implant. This is my review and I will stick with it. read more

I just had a crown done. The worst experience ever. They didn't numb me so it hurt like crazy. To make things worse the receptionists and assistants were laughing and making fun of me for having to help my son with a issue at his native corporation. I left the bty dental in tears. read more

Went and had x-rays done to get a filling put in. I have dental insurance and they had me pay a $200 deductible that day. They said the exam was covered fully under my dental insurance. I had no work done and I just received a bill in the made for $130.00 six months later. Doesn't seem right to me especially because I told them that I would not be continuteing with the fillings because they wanted to charge me $3,000 for a crown when other dentist said that was not necessary. They need to figure out their billing. read more

I would love to give this place a good review. All of their attentiveness is almost annoying...two confirmation calls is a bit much. However, after scheduling a very expensive surgery, they failed to give me proper instructions for what to do before the surgery, so I had to be rescheduled. I took time off for this surgery but instead of completing my procedure iotime, I had to wait until later in the afternoon, rearrange rides and family care, and go all day without eating so that my surgery could be moved hours later the same day. All of this would have been prevented by giving me the instructions the night before. Which would have been easy since they called me to confirm the night before. But they were too busy making sure I could pay on that call instead of giving me the surgery instructions. I guess I know what's more important. Update: I paid over $4k for that surgery, and when the insurance company paid their part, I was owed over $1k back. They refused to refund it until I started writing formal complaints to the insurance company, the state attorney's office, and the state board of dentistry about insurance fraud. When I first went to BTY I felt as if they really cared about the patient. I even sent several other clients to them. But that changed. First after going in and having the dentist convince me to pull several teeth for partial plates with a payment plan I could handle. When it came time to do plates it went from $200 deposit to $1000 deposit. So now I have alot of missing teeth with no plates. Next my sister gets mad and won't return. Felt they were to pushy in trying to get you to do what they wanted. So her nor her son wouldn't return. I still gave them a try and went back to have a small chip right at the holidays repaired. I wasn't prepared for a big job at the time so just wanted quick chip fix. They wouldn't fix chip without doing big job and I needed the extra my ins wouldn't cover right then. I didn't have it on me and couldn't reach my husband. They refused to fix the chip. Understand if you don't have cash in hand they won't help you!!! You also can't count on the amount they tell you it will cost cause just as you get to the big job. The cost jumps!!! I'm glad they aren't a regular doctors office. If you had a cut and couldn't afford the bandages. They'd let you bleed to death. read more

Dr. Hahn and Chelsea took great care of me. They did an implant for me today, and I was in and out in just about an hour. This is the third time I've been in to that particular office for a fairly extensive procedure, and every time they have treated me well. I am from out of town, so they have worked well around my travel and work. And they have explained things as needed. While the front desk staff, dentist, hygienist/assistant were friendly and helpful, the person that deals with their billing and out of pocket cost was one of the most unprofessional people my husband and I have had to deal with. He went over to discuss cost and as my husband was trying to explain we wouldn't be able to complete the procedures since we didn't have enough time due to work, he kept lowering the oop cost as if he was bargaining at a swap meet and let out a sigh that was heard in another bay, as if he was tired of the conversation. Completely unprofessional. If a patient says they're unable to do the treatment at that time, please stop and ask what day they can schedule for instead of haggling a price. Not sure what the guys name was but we had our appt on 4/6. BTY should find out who that person was and offer him a class on how to properly and professionally deal with patients. Livid. Made an appt. because they were in network for Metlife. They gave me the one dentist that wasn't in network. Went in for periodontal deep cleaning and made them give me a new dentist (in network) who shot my mouth up with so much novacaine or lidocaine the entire bottom half of my face was numb for 2 1/2 hrs after the cleaning.So far have charged me twice for a comprehensive exam. Took more xrays than allowed by metlife and so far Metlife isn't paying for the deep cleaning. I think they want to see the xrays first. So to date I'm looking at a bill of over $1000 for my two visits which were for initial xrays and exam and a deep cleaning. Oh and when I was waiting to have my teeth cleaned they stuck papers in front of me to initial. On one line it said something to the effect that if the dentist needed to do more work than initially planned that I authorize him to do the work. WTF! Oh, and if you don't like glaring bright lights, uncomfortable sunglasses that they make you wear and chartreuse walls and no music in the background, then stay away. If they manage to make good in any way I will come back and edit or repost, but at this point I am feeling quite cynical. read more
