I grabbed the lunch 3 taco deal with a frozen margarita to go. Service was super fast and friendly: I was out of there with my food in like 5mins. I got the birria, pork carnitas and bang bang shrimp tacos. All three tacos were actually really good. The margarita was okay, it was premixed. They have a lot of seating, and the bar area is pretty big too. I was expecting them to be a lot busier since it was national tequila day. I will definitely be returning to dine in. read more

I was up from Florida, visiting some relatives and suggested I take them out for Mexican food. My relatives know very little about Mexican food, but they were eager to try some. I had planned to takethem to a different restaurant, but they didn't like the looks of the place! We ended up at the Taco Spot, with mixed success. The upside is that cocktails were quite good. The gal behind the bar knew her stuff. The food though was just so so. The chips and guac were decent, but the chips were commercial type, not homemade. We had chicken fajitas, ok but swimming in sauce, and a carnitas burrito which was underseasoned and mostly rice. The accompanying black beans were like they opened the can, rinsed the beans, and served them plain. No flavor whatsoever. The Pico de gallo was equally bland. The place was packed though, and I wondered if maybe most Long Islanders prefer this kind of underseasoned food? read more

I wanted to love it but was meh. Tacos are small and expensive and pork not really seasoned and on dry side. No reason for this other than apathy. Visited on a Saturday afternoon and I was one of 4 people there. That should have been a sign. Honestly I feel ripped off. Just be done with it and close the store. Stopped in on a Sunday morning as they were opening immediately greeted and seated by our waiter and as we found out restaurant manager Dan. The restaurant is small but has a great vibe with the music you might expect playing in a Mexican restaurant loudly but not overwhelming so. We immediately ordered margaritas which were absolutely delicious. We also placed an order for some apps, nachos and fried mac & cheese balls which Dan recommended they both came out hot and fresh and frankly not greasy which is sometimes a problem when you get nachos. I found them to be tasty. Our mains consisted of a Mexican Caesar which was crisp and well dressed and the El Chappo pizza which looked stunning tasted great but was extremely greasy. All in all I'd say the food was a 3.5 but that may just be due to our choices. We did order fried ice cream which was outstanding definitely a 5 out of 5. I plan to come back for tacos read more

Place is trash. Tried to literally order two beef tacos for take-out for my child standing right next to me with just beef and lettuce, no cheese or pico. they REFUSED. because "it's too busy". Too busy for your cooks to actually do less work making a whopping TWO tacos? At a place literally called "The Taco Spot"? I can understand a no modifications policy at a high-end five star restaurant in NYC, not The Taco Spot in a strip mall in East Northport. I get that it's busy. It's Cinco De Mayo. That's why I was perfectly fine with these two tacos taking 45-60 minutes, we literally drove there too - this wasn't even over the phone. But give me a break. I didn't even ask to replace the cheese or pico with something else. I wasn't asking to recreate the menu with excessive modifications within complex dishes. 2 beef tacos, hold the cheese and pico. Couldn't do it. Lame af. Says a lot about a place when the customer service is this awful. read more

What a fun new place to try! I came with my friend for happy hour and we both had a great time. Very aesthetically pleasing on the inside with upbeat music. They have an extensive menu with tons of taco options. I went with the spicy vegan which was so fresh and flavorful. Had to get a watermelon margarita as well which was also very fresh and strong. Overall disappointment. Tacos were expensive and small. Not what I expected. Its ok bit not at all great. Not alot of spice or flavor.

The service was very good here and quick. Nice that they have the four dollar tacos on Tuesday . The inside is really nice and very pop-culture . There is a great beer selection as well. The food tasted great, definitely an excellent taco spot. There is a list of specialty tacos, our friend enjoyed the birria the most(he ate his fast, no pics)....the bf tried the bbq burrito, he really enjoyed and everything tasted fresh and had a great BBQ flavor...I got El Chapo Pizza, that is a birria lover's dream! Cheesy, beef cooked perfectly, great dip as well! (Napkins are a must). Can't wait to come back! No alcohol, apps, or dessert were purchased, but look amazing* We were seated right away, there are a decent amount of tables, the Mexican modern look was very instaworthy as well! The ramen was really good, the birria taco was bussin with their mango habanero sauce. The drinks are good and frozen margaritas are another level of enjoyment. The service has been top tier every time I visit. Justin was hospitable and very accommodating my last visit there. They make sure you're ok and it hasn't taken very long to receive my order. There's plenty of space if you're in a group or you can chill at the bar and enjoy the good vibes all the same. It's a chill vibe. read more

I loved the predecessor in this space, and was able to try some of the Taco Spot's food when they helped out a local PTA (kudos!) so I was excited to try them for a sit down lunch. Overall, it was a solid taco lunch. The space inside is cool, the service was friendly and helpful, and the food was very good. The only strike in offering was that there was an odd smell when we entered - and it was very off putting. Hoping it was just a temporary issue. We got the trio of salsas to start. Chips were hit or miss, not all fresh, not warm. Queso was good, pico had some nice big chunks in it, but the guac was really cold (refrigerated, not freshly made). My friend got a burrito bowl that looked big and yummy. I got the Birria taco which was awesome with the consommé, and the fish taco which also had nice flavor to it. Prices were a bit steep for tacos, but isn't everything these days? All in all, I would definitely hit them up again for lunch if I was in the mood for tacos. read more

I'm always down for a new taco spot. The Taco Spot is pretty good gringo tacos. Ingredients were fresh, atmosphere clean, service fast & friendly. It's good for kids and their parents. Kids can get either a fountain soda or virgin pina colada with their meal. I got the veggie burrito. It was really good. The wrap wasn't the best but the overall taste compensated. Never again! Reviews are off! I came here for lunch, and all I saw were non-Ethnic people. That should have been a red flag, but I gave it a chance, and I regret it. Queso was not delicious and watery. I ordered two beef tacos and chorizo. It was a failure!!! There was no flavor, no spice, and I was disappointed overall. It's like the intent is there but does not give authenticity and quality. If I ask for a beef street taco, it should be cubed / chopped up grilled beef, not all flavorless stewed meat with tons of fat. Chorizo is spicy. I don't know what chorizo they gave me but it was not chorizo and it was sweet with tons of cumin. How can you mess up a simple dish? Horrible flavor combination on my chorizo taco. Then to top it off they add the green sauce on top. Put it on the side!!!pljs the green sauce was not giving spice of natural flavors. I am very disappointed! From now on I will try to go further into Huntington, pay less, and have better quality food. I really hope my stomach doesn't hurt after this. $30.00 including tip waisted on horrible food experience. Don't do it! Only thing I liked was how nice the person who took my order was . We came here the other day for some tacos and dinner. It was pretty packed but not as bad as some of the restaurants were in the village or sorrounding area. We had a good table to sit at and accommodating host. The waiter was a good dude, but slightly socially awkward, either that or he was stoned/overwhelmed with the crowd. We put in our order for 6 tacos and some corn, with the rice and beans as the side that come with it, no drinks. This order took a really long time, most likely because the kitchen got slammed with tables and takeout orders, but it was a noteable long time. The tacos were alright. The Birria Taco is THE BEST taco out of the 3 I had. The Buffalo Cauliflower was pretty weak and the Buffalo Chicken one tasted like it would be in a wrap in Stop and Shop. Not that great. Love the neon sign & vibe of this place. Taco Tuesday was the perfect time to try this place. I had the shrimp taco & spicy vegetarian - both were delish! The chips & guacamole as an app was also really good - just ever so slightly under-salted for my personal preference, so I had to ask for some. The coconut margarita was one of the best I've had in a long time. When we couldn't figure out which dessert to get, our waitress Diana, who was amazing, suggested the funnel cake fries & they were SO crispy, light, & tasty! Delicious little Taco spot in East Northport. They have specials every night of the week, and very tasty menu. The grilled Brussel sprouts are amazing...you have to try them! The place is well decorated and has a welcoming vibe. I ordered two fish tacos with rice and beans and a tropical chicken salad to go. The portion for the rice was pretty small. I expected it to be a bigger portion. The cilantro lime rice was okay. The beans came in their own little container. The beans had a lot of water in the container. It would be nice if the restaurant drained off the majority of the water that was in the container with the beans. The beans didn't taste that seasoned. It would be nice if some onions or peppers were added to the beans. Also, the fish was cold. I was expecting it to be warm but instead it had a chill to it. I removed the fish from one taco to see if the pico de gallo was making the fish cold, but when I ate the fish by itself it still had a chill to it. The fish taco contains: crispy cod, shaved cabbage, pico de gallo, cilantro and avocado crema. I had a soft tortilla for the tacos. I think the tacos would do well with another fresh element being included, such as a pineapple-mango garnish. The cilantro and avocado crema had a good flavor but overall I think the tacos could use more salt and pepper. The salad was for someone else and I am awaiting their thoughts on it. read more
