When Bubbakoo's Burritos first opened, they sent out coupons in the mail, which caught my attention. I'd seen a different location before, but hadn't had a chance to try it. Then one day, I noticed there was a new spot in Laurel , so I figured it was the perfect time to check it out. I decided to go with the small nacho portion, and honestly, it was the perfect size definitely enough to satisfy my hunger. My son ordered the quesadilla, and after trying it, he loved it. The flavors were on point, customer service was friendly and everything was fresh. Overall, I'd say it was a success! I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu options

Easy to find. They're located in the Brockbridge Shopping Center. There's a Dunkin Donuts at the entrance as a point of reference. Plenty of parking available. It wasn't too busy when I arrived. Good service with friendly employees! I got a takeout order - grilled chicken bowl with rice, pico de gallo, corn, jalapeños, sour cream, lettuce and spicy mango habernero sauce (wasn't spicy to me). It was filling and the ingredients were fresh! I would try their tacos next time. Taco Tuesday anyone?

Still shaken by having almost witnessed the fatal mauling of her little sister by a ravenous polar bear driven mad by a parasitic alien, Maika, her three teenage pals, and Aju return to the outskirts of their tiny arctic town of Pangniturang, Nunavut, in the 2022 film Slash/Back. "But, like, what was it?" an Inuit teenager, about the same age, asks what attacked them. "Ijiraq," Uki, perhaps the most street-smart of the close-knit group, responds. "An ijiraq tried to take me?" Aju expressed a mixture of dread and concern. Moments later, Maika offers a response that pinpoints the other conflict at the heart of Director Nyla Innuksuk's compelling film. "That's just Inuit nonsense. There's no ijiraq, no sedna, and no qalipalik," rattling off the names of other Inuit bedtime horrors. Maika's retort captures the resistance of most teenagers to celebrating longstanding family traditions, including culinary traditions ("country cooking, Maika derisively calls it early in the film). But what if the cultural "threat" to those four girls from Pang derived not from parasitic aliens or teenagers' desires to escape the traditions of their families? What if Maika's temptation to reject the country cooking of her father was instead inspired by the sudden, culinary introduction to Nunavut of Bubbakoo's Burritos, new to Laurel, Maryland in 2025? One could hardly blame Maika, Uki, Jesse, and Leena, the four teenagers, from exploring a chance to purchase gargantuan taco salads in taco shell bowls, burritos so towering in stature that they sometimes require multiple soft shells in order to close, bowls with seasoned brown rice or seasoned white rice in lieu of additional carbs, all of the options with your choice of succulent carnitas, scrumptious roasted chicken, ambrosial barbacoa, or perfectly range-fried hibachi shrimp cooked right before your eyes. Toss in the opportunities to choose a marinade flavor--mango habanero has become my family's go-to--in addition to selecting fresh jalapeños, queso that seduces your taste buds both with chips and as a topping, corn salsa, pineapple salsa, pico de gallo, fajita veggies and more...and you have uncovered a brunch, lunch, dinner, or carryout option that could very well conquer your longings for the homemade dishes you grew up with and still remember fondly. Regardless of whether you possess the bravery of Uki to be bait or the cool patience of Maika to accompany the hunting skills passed down by her father, Bubbakoo's Burritos on 3509 Laurel-Fort Meade Road is well worth the unlikely risk of an attack by an alien-possessed polar bear.

I never even heard of Bubbakoo's until this new Laurel location opened, but apparently there's a few around MD now. It's a big chain it seems that's known for its burritos. Their logo has a nice shade of green too. For their first week that had a dope BOGO deal for everyone so I ended up going twice so I could really get to explore multiple things. Both orders were done online, and I went in person to pick them up. It's a nice open restaurant with a "Now Open" banner outside you can't miss. The long bench has several tables that are almost too close together... you have to move them to squeeze in between haha. First time I went in, tables were spotless, but the second time I had to wipe them off myself. Their first full weekend was busy indeed, good for them! When I went in to pick up my first order, there was some dude in there that was visibly upset about something and pretty much he had the attention of all the staff. I wasn't paying attention, but geez man, they just opened, let them work out their kinks. There's a shelf clearly marked for online pickup orders, so I grabbed my bag and went out. The second time I decided to eat in just to capture the vibes. The staff are really kind, by the way. Here's all the food I've tried in order: Breakfast burrito w/ veggies: honestly I thought it was pretty darn dry and could've used a sauce inside. The ingredients inside were good, but a sauce would've amped it up. I don't recall seeing an option to add one, but I wish I would've somehow. Mango habanero shredded chicken burrito bowl: umm... it was nothing short of fantastic. The bowls (at least visually) seem heftier than the burritos themselves and it was mighty filling. I enjoyed every bite. General Tsos chicken burrito: their burritos are missing something... I did get the sauce (which I loved) but it was only in some bites... it's like everything in there was sectioned off. Some bites were just straight rice. Didn't love that. Honey sriracha shredded chicken quesadilla: it absolutely slapped. Favorite thing that I've had so far. Saucy, flavorful, and satisfying. There are plenty of other meats, appetizers, and desserts to try. But all that said, I've enjoyed the burritos the least so far, which is what I didn't expect given the name of the spot. Maybe next time I'll try building my own burrito from scratch instead of picking a default. I'll be back!

I've tried their Breakfast Burrito and General Tso's Crispy Burrito. Their food is decent- cooked well, quirky, and has some heat to it depending on what you get. I especially enjoy their Breakfast Burrito w/Philly Steak. The space is clean, not small, not too big, about medium sized, fun designs and fonts, but the customer service was somewhat poor on Grand Opening. Parking is easy. This place has potential, but I think they could improve on their marketing, rice ratios, and speed.

Update: I ordered a burrito bowl. Unfortunately, it was very underwhelming. It lacked a lot of flavor. Rice was not fresh. Other toppings were fresh. Customer service was very friendly. Meal was affordable, $10.

I'm on the fence about TKK. I actually was in the plaza to get food from somewhere else, when I saw…read morethe sign for Taiwanese fried chicken and had to try some. They're located inside of the Kung Fu Tea. The TKK sign was small, so it's easy to miss. Customer service was good, and they made sure to inform us that the chicken would take about 15 minutes to prepare. I got the 3 piece spicy meal which came with a biscuit and fries. I was told the 3 pieces would be random, and you can't specify a preference of white or dark meat. I liked that the meal came in a bucket and thought it was a cute touch. The fries were pretty disappointing - they were a little soggy and very greasy. The chicken was good until I saw the huge 3rd piece of meat. I got a leg, thigh, and I have no idea what that 3rd piece of meat was. It was huge and unidentifiable. It scared me and turned me off from eating the rest of the meal. If they have an option for all wings, I may go back and give that a try since the flavor was good.

I was finally in the area and got a chance to go in person and wow, the experience of eating the food fresh there was even better - although I must say this food does travel very well. I wish I caught the young man's name, who was the cashier, but he was great! He was very friendly, just seemed like a good, hardworking kid. I wanted a classic so I just got the gyro platter, the Greek fries and the soup. The soup is so good and reminds me of my favorite Greek place back home in chicago, I used to eat this type of soup every weekend with my family. Ingredients are fresh here and quality is always A1. The Greek fries are my favorite and a guilty pleasure. They are so flavorful and have the best texture. The gyro was also very filling and they really don't skimp out here with their toppings. I'm an extra sauce kinda gal and here, they really just go above and beyond without you ever needing to ask them. I wish I had a closer location in DC!
