I usually enjoy supporting Sardis, I've been to locations all over Prince George's county but my experience at Sardi's in Laurel was disappointing. I called ahead to place an order for the Bang Bang Chicken and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. Cool - simple enough It took me 13min to arrive from my job ,when I got there I waited the full 15 minutes... and then some. No update, no explanation, no sense of urgency. What really killed it was the customer service was short & dismissive when I looked up from my phone after waiting 50min I said this is the last time they will get my money and not because of taste or displeasure with the food it was the customer service that was overall unprofessional. If you're going to give a pickup time, at least respect it or communicate when things change. Food can be great, but service matters just as much. This visit missed the mark. Hopefully, it was an off day, but first impressions stick. read more

It's been great to see how much they've grown over the past decade, expanding while keeping their quality consistent. The staff was friendly and efficient, and everything on display looked fresh and ready. This is our favorite Sardi's... we live much closer to a different location and don't eat there. We are in the Laurel area about once a month and look forward to eating here. Hot, well prepared food , a friendly staff and a clean welcoming store. We meet with family for family dinner here once a year. Never had a bad meal here. I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant. I have ordered take out from this restaurant several times. However, this time I decided to dine in with my mom. My mom has never been here; so, she was unsure what to order. Raina (not sure if I spelled her name correctly) was very patient and kind with me and mom as my mom had questions about the menu. We went two weeks ago for lunch because I had never been before! There were so many sides to choose from, but my husband said the rice was very good and I liked the look of the mashed potatoes. I do wish the plates the food was served on was a bit bigger as it was very hard to cut the chicken without some food falling off the plate. Also, their paper towels do nothing to help pick up spills, so better napkins would be helpful! The food was delicious! I loved the flavor of the chicken without any sauces, but their Sardi sauce as really good. The Mumbo was interesting, not my favorite. The rice was amazing, as was the mashed potatoes and gravy. I've had better The bang bang chicken and the ropa vieja empanadas (special) were good. Ropa vieja empanadas were just meat, no cheese or fillers. It comes with a tangy and acidic red onion and tomato side which I can eat by itself and I don't usually like onions The white rice and black beans were my favorite! I was disappointed! Lately I have been purchasing the fried fish dinner. The first time it went well, nice portion. Then I went back 2-more times and the fish size was much smaller on different days. Even Mid-Atlantic Seafood will give you better portions of fish where you get your money worth. I started going to a different location and I see that I am getting better portions and service. So I guess it depends on what you ask for but try a different location other than Laurel-Baltimore Ave and see for yourself. read more

Sardi's is the family's favorite roasted chicken shack in the US. This location was the third one we tried. The taste, quality, and prices were consistent across all three shacks. The seasoning that was used to marinade the chicken was unique and flavorful. The chicken itself was moist, even the breast. All the sides we had tried so far tasted excellent. The foods were affordable. The employees were friendly and quick. We wish Sardi's will open a location in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Baltimore. read more

We got this for delivery so I can't speak for service. The food, was not authentic Peruvian food from my experience (my partner is Peruvian). Starting with the chicken - the taste was okay but definitely very dry. I got the white meat so maybe get the dark meat and you'll have better luck. Flavor wise, it tasted just like any other rotisserie chicken. The yucca fries were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The arroz chaufa is probably the closest thing to Peruvian this place had. It had a tiny bit too much ginger, but I like the taste of ginger so it was okay. We also ordered a pupusa which was a mistake. I don't know what I was thinking ordering an El Salvadorian dish from a "Peruvian" place. We got the revueltas pupusa which was suppose to be cheese, beans, and pork, but it was 90% beans. It was also over $3 for ONE pupusa. In general, this place is far too expensive for what it is. I know prices are going up and I completely understand but things like lomo saltado should not be over $20 and half a chicken should not be costing me $15. Continuing my alphabet series. S is for Sardi's: Sardi's is my 2nd or 3rd favorite Peruvian chicken place. I first tried at Gaithersburg location about 8 years ago. Both locations have high quality chicken & sides, but I prefer the Laurel location over Gaithersburg or a couple of others because the staff is nice & line moves more efficiently and parking is easier. I've tended to come here on the way to AMC Center Park before a movie. The chicken is juicy. I get two of several possible sides I like plantains, beans, yuca, side salad, string beans, etc. The chicken is slightly better than Don Pollo, 3rd favorite. However, Don Pollo has an edge on plantains. Sardi's used to be way more expensive, but now with inflation Don Pollo & the other favorite Peruvian place also in Laurel, Palacio de Peru, are similar to Sardi's price. read more

The fried plantains were delicious and hot and fresh. I'm pretty sure they were top 3 of the best plantains I've ever tried. The sweet chili chicken wasn't hot but had a really good flavor. First timer here! We had heard so much about this place. About how great it is and that's it's the best chicken in the world! Hmm... debatable. Was it bad? No. Was it the best? No. First of all it's so hard to place an order. I know we need social distancing but they are covered in glass you have to bend down to order. Then we all have masks which makes it harder. I mean I was yelling at the girl. I felt bad. Anywho. I ordered a plate that would take longer so I didn't mind the wait. But I wasn't impressed with the food. The chicken was good, nice, and most. Carne asada, too hard to cut and chew! Shrimp was delicious! The bananas were just not good. They tasted old in my opinion and some parts a bit too burnt. Veggies were very good. I tried hubby's rice and it wasn't bad but it tasted too much like Chinese rice. And this place is not that. So it wasn't too bad but when you hear so much about a place and it's just aight. Wanted to try new style of chicken when I heard about this place moment I stepped in this place the delicious smell of roasted chicken hit me, and I knew I was in for a treat. The chicken was out of this world! Perfectly seasoned with a crispy skin and juicy meat - every bite was packed with flavor. I also tried the yuca fries which was really new to me thinking is this a healthy was of eating fries, and they were the perfect sides. Everything tasted so fresh and the portions were really generous. The service was fantastic too. The staff were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed made me try all there variety of sauces loved the salsa verde made with green chilly. Sardi's know how to make some really delicious chicken. It's juicy and packed with flavor. For side dishes, they have a variety to choose from as well and cooked fresh. Their plantains are some of the best plantains that I've ever had. Their yucca, arroz chaufa, french fries, and green beans are delicious as well. Their mashed potatoes with gravy is probably my least favorite. They barely put any gravy (even if you pay for extra). Their sauces that goes with the chicken is so good and goes well with everything (not only chicken but also fries, yucca, and arroz chaufa, etc.). It's very addicting. I've also had their Lomo Saltado as well and it's pretty tasty and packed with flavor but it's a bit on the pricey side and they don't put in as much beef. Some of the non-rotisserie chicken items takes a bit longer to make but I think it's worth the wait if you have time. Overall, a solid 4 stars. read more

We found dirty balls of hair in food. Me and wife got sick immediately after. Contacted Uber eats for refund and was not refunded the money back. We also let them know about the health hazard. This is the second time we have found something hazardous in the food. Last time we found plastic in the salad. We also ordered shrimp and it smelled funny and we had to throw out. Always a hit!! A good food option and worth a try when in the Laurel area. Sardis does a huge business in Peruvian chicken space, which is cooked on the spot, in clear view in a huge indoor rotisserie. The chicken is very moist with crisp skin and flavor seasoned to the bone. The best deal in the house is the shared a whole chicken and two sides, which is good sized meal for about 4 people. I also recommend the green beans too...amazingly good and flavorful. If you're looking for healthy, tasty meals....this place got you covered. Their menu boasts a wide variety of authentic selections Latin-American dishes, mixed with an American flare. My main two "go-to's" are the: Carnes Asada and the Rotisserie Chicken, of course!! I've eaten here several times since I moved to the area in 2004 and they have remained consistent on delivering fresh, delicious, real food and the customer service is good, too! One thing I can say is.....Sardi's definitely have saved me on many nights when I left the office late and/or was in need of a good meal but didn't feel like cooking. Sardi's is by far the best Peruvian chicken place. No matter which location we visit, we have never been disappointed. They provide the same high quality, delicious, flavor-filled eats. Compared to other Peruvian joints, what helps Sardi's stand above the rest is their bold flavors- The chicken is always juicy & moist, with well-seasoned skin and a flavor that seeps through. The yuca is always cooked perfectly, never too dry-too crispy-or underdone- they know how to put our a great quality product. The fried rice has a good balance of ingredients, like large chunks of egg and chicken, and is always cooked to perfection (never al dente, dry, or too sticky). I think they have the best fried plantains-juicy, large chunks, well sauteed-with just enough crisp char on some pieces to kick up the taste level. And to top it all off...they have the best sauces- the sauces are arguably what helps a Peruvian joint stand out from the rest- Sardi's yellow & green sauces have very unique flavor profiles- the green offers a nice smooth cilantro-based with a spicy kick & the yellow offers a hearty smooth twang (perfect for pouring on yuca). Can't go wrong with Sardi's, my go to for Peruvian chicken. The chicken is always cooked to perfection though I will say it is on the saltier side. The sides are delicious as well, I usually get the yucca, fried rice or plantains. The food is good by itself but their special sauces add an extra kick. My personal favorite is the green one. The only issue I had with them is that recently I got the lunch special but was not given the drink and charged for the regular price. Solid four stars. I subtracted one simply because I don't like noisy places where I can barely hear my friend speak! But on to the positive. I ordered the lunch special at $12.50, which was half of a small chicken, two side dishes, and a 16 oz fountain drink. The food is served cafeteria style, and there were numerous sides to choose from, so I had plantains and a side salad. And yay! horchata! The chicken was moist and perfectly spiced, fall-off-the-bone tender and just a joy to devour, especially because I love me some crispy skin. The salad, which was stuffed into a pint container, was filled with lots of vegetables and not just iceberg lettuce. They gave me a spicy vinaigrette dressing that was a really pleasant surprise. My friend ordered chicken anticuchos (skewers), which takes 15 minutes but she pronounced well worth the wait. She gave me a taste of her seasoned potatoes (yum) and a bit of Inca corn (also yum!). I was pleased to try this restaurant, because I generally avoid chains. But these folks have it down and the fact that the restaurant is SPOTLESS during a really busy lunchtime, is exemplary. So the food here is good, this review is about service. I ordered on the Sardi's app. My order was supposed to be ready by 6:27, I got to the restaurant at 6:25. When I arrived they informed me my order wasn't ready yet. Ten minutes later I still didn't have my food. The young man at the pickup booth asked me for the confirmation number and stated it was coming. Ten more minutes still no food. The young then asks me to write down my order number. After I write the number down, he goes behind the counter to make my order. Something told me to check to make sure that everything was correct and it wasn't. They didn't give me my black beans and the wrong sauce. When I informed him that it wasn't correct, with an attitude he took my plate and just threw the black beans over the rice and chicken. On service alone, I'll be giving Sardi's a rest. Oh, and I didn't leave out of there until 6:57. read more

I found them during the pandemic, so I have yet to dine in, but I've ordered all of my orders over the phone. -- I'll start with why I'm only giving them 4 stars. Like I said, I've always ordered my food over the phone and each time I've called, I've felt rushed. I feel like the moment they catch wind that I speak Spanish, they start speaking to me in Spanish and start rushing through taking my order so they can assist the next person. I always feel like I end up missing how much my total is each time because they're so quick to say "okay, thanks, bye. See you soon." When it comes to pick up as well, I've rarely had my food ready in the amount of time they estimate it being done. I always show up around the estimated pick up time and end up having to wait about 10-15mins more. As for the food, it's always been amazing! My go to is their chicharron de pollo with a side of arroz chaufa and their stir fry veggies. They have some pretty good steak fries as well, but I'd pick their fried yuca over if any day. I'd also recommend their fried plantains, super delish! Another one of my favorites is their wings. I was surprised with how good their wings were.
