My first time coming here, and it was definitely the right choice. Since it was Cinco de Mayo, the place was packed. The parking lot is small, and there's no sauce stand--which is probably my only downside. Because of the holiday, the wait was about 30 minutes for four tacos, which was a bit longer than I would've liked. That said, it was worth it. Taqueria Los Primos has always been my go-to spot and, up until now, the best tacos I've had in Maryland--but Los Perez takes the top spot for me. I was a little thrown off seeing the hot sauce come in a plastic packet, but it was actually super fire. I'd come back here all the time. Really enjoyed the tacos from here -- tried the chicken, carnitas, cabeza, and asada as part of the 4 taco combo for $13.99 which was a great deal. The chicken was seasoned well and the carnitas were flavorful, the accompanying sauces - salsa verde y roja were incredible! The tacos were filling and accompanied with limes, cilantro, and radishes. My husband enjoyed both the cabeza and the asada, he especially loved the cabeza as it was very juicy and flavorful. Who doesn't like taco Tuesdays?!? A hidden local gem. I ordered Al pastor, carne asada, and carnitas. Comes with raw onions, cilantro, limes, grilled green onions and two sauces (red and green). The service was phenomenal, let's just start there. They check on you every few to see if you're okay. Everyone was super nice. As for food - I like tacos de buche (which you should try if you haven't)! I decided to get them from here and I was just a bit disappointed. The onion was cut super thick so not my fav and the buche was not as roasted. Dont get me wrong i liked the marinade it had, but buche is supposed to be crunchy or at least that's how it usually is in other places I've tried it. The horchata was also a bit sweet for my liking. This place always caught my eye, but I finally tried it and was ADDICTED. Buche tacos for the WIN!! The ambience is chill vibes you can eat there if you'd like. Besides that let's get into the real, real. The picture with multiple tacos is when I used to go DAILY in the summer. Fast forwards to this single taco. The consistency dropped drastically. I went two other times to see if my taste buds were playing games with me, but sadly, no. The tacos were TOUGH to chew on & there was barely any meat all three of those times even when I had the taco combo with four tacos. The reason I hadn't returned in the summer and took a break from this restaurant is because they gave me the wrong order 'To-Go' and right before they closed I went there to just give the food back along with the money, respectfully. I can even come back the next day to order. One of the workers that knows my fave was just going off and I didn't say anything, but collect the money and note it as I left. So the fact that I came back and the consistency wasn't there four times was beyond me. We went here last night during Taco Tuesday. It was $1.75 each tacos. Only 4 flavors are part of it. Pollo, Pastor, Carnitas and Asada. It was okay flavor wise. It was just lacking a little bit of it. Just a little bit. I was happy with their portion sizes though. Good amount for what you pay for. The servers and cashiers were nice and was able to communicate well with all the questions i had especially tbe prices since only the taco Tuesday tacos have prices but none of the menu on the wall have them. So i had to keep asking the price which she answered. The inside is colorful just like the outside. Now for the main event. Pizzabirria. Is something new for us. It was delicious!!! My son took a bite of it and it was splendid. He loved it a lot. Mind you he is 15 with a picky palate but omg he loved everything about the pizzabirria. He loved it. We all did. This is a newer taqueria in the Laurel area and I would place it as one of the best. With the size of the location, you can bring a small or even slightly larger group to grab lunch or dinner. You can order to go or dine in. You place your order at the counter and grab a number if you are dining in and they will bring the food to you. I ordered nachos with carnitas and David got the burrito with Pastor. Nachos: Finally nachos with a good chip-to-cheese ratio! I am here for it. I liked the portion size and that it felt enough for one person as their meal. AND THE CARNITAS. They tasted as though they had JUST came out of the oven. Sometimes we like to make carnitas at home and make tacos right after, and I have to say the freshness was on par. The picked onions on the side in a plastic bag was an interesting choice, but hey, nacho cheese, pico, and guac?!?! Can't complain. Only thing I didn't like was that when I got to the bottom, the chips were covered in oil/grease. Other than that, delicious! Pastor Burrito: My first comment to David was that the meat actually looked red! LOL! Very authentic tasting and David enjoyed the actual pieces of pineapple in the burrito. Such great food and great service! I came here in the afternoon because I was craving Mexican food and it certainly satisfied my craving. I got an elote, the flautas, a horchata to drink, and tres leches for dessert. Everything was excellent! This was my first time trying the flautas, and it's shredded chicken inside a fried, crispy shell, with lettuce, cojita, tomatoes, etc. on top. Coming from the Bay Area I had pretty high hopes from all the great reviews. However when we got our food it was so disappointing. The chicken in the tacos was super dry and too salty. And the sauce taste so artificial.. it came in a small bag.. Definitely doesn't compare to the authentic salsa verde. My husband's burrito was okay. It's definitely one of the smallest burritos I've seen. The beans tasted like they came from a can too. Inside of the restaurant feels like you're in a cafeteria. Finding this location was hard, parking is small, and the area is not exactly the best (police officer is stationed inside due to the area's recent mishaps). We came here to celebrate a birthday and ordered tons of food and even dabbled in their dessert freezers (yes, they have four freezers of desserts to pick from). Each dish was fresh and full of flavor. It is the type of atmosphere where you feel as if you could just continue to order more and more while doing the happy food dance (work it off while ya eat, ya know?). But it is all so fresh that it is hard to stop eating! Tacos, tortas, quesadilla, gorditas, and birria were all amazing. We also tried nopal (cactus)--cooked perfectly. The ladies up front are kind and you get great customer service. Most importantly the flavor and the size of the tacos for the price is amazing! Each taco is overflowing with meat. Very likely my favorite restaurant right now. There's nothing fancy about this place. It's on the corner of a sort of strip mall off of a busy byway. Parking is easy as they have a private lot. Once you enter you're greeted by a tidy restaurant with self seated tables. The staff are welcoming and are willing to assist with menu items and beverages. The food is truly the star here. I've visited one of their other restaurants (the original I believe) and am so happy that there is another closer to where I live. The birria pizza taco is simply outstanding. I could eat this dish twice per week if my wife and/or doctor allowed. My entire family thinks this is a great meal and gladly on pizza can satisfy a hungry family like mine.
