Couldn't taste cheese if there was any on it, no side of salsa or sour cream, and it was room temperature. Updating my earlier review. I've visited this restaurant twice in the past three weeks and both times were unsuccessful. The first time I waited in line before being informed that they were out of rice and would be closing shortly. It was 7 pm and their posted hours of operation were until 9 pm. Tonight, I tried again. While it looked like they had everything available, I waited to place my order while the three girls worked on what must have been online orders, which wasn't an issue in and of itself but rather that all three of them looked me in the eye multiple times and not once did they greet me and tell me they'd be with me momentarily. It was as if I didn't exist. So, after about three minutes of ignored, I left. Horrible customer service and I can't imagine I'll give them another try. read more

I finally decided to give Bubbakoo's Burritos a try after hearing mixed reviews about it. In consideration of the foregoing, I ordered a burrito with crispy chicken, queso, rice, cheese, and chipotle cream with curly fries. With that being said, I dug into the burrito and it was decent. To explain, the crispy chicken was tender and flavorful. In addition, the chipotle cream was spicy and tangy and went great with the chicken. On the contrary, I don't think they put the queso in the burrito because I could not taste it at all. Also, the burrito wasn't assembled correctly because one side of the burrito was just rice and the other half was everything else. The burrito was fine, but it could have been better. I would also like to mention that the curly fries were solid. To elaborate, the fries were crispy and seasoned. As has been said, Bubbakoo's has decent burritos, but there is room for improvement. read more

So anyone who's ever read anything I write knows that I tend to find delicious food everywhere I go and LOVE LOVE local businesses and support them always. I had seen this place a couple of times as I drove by but as I was talking to some friends yesterday they told me they tried it, and how much they loved it. I was even more excited to try this place, considering the lack of options, locally as they are dominated by Chipotle or Moe's when it comes to take out I walked in here at the Greenbush location, and instantly I was excited to see a massive menu. Very different than anything I have seen for most places that advertise tacos and burritos. When I saw the menu, I was looking through what I wanted to get and I must've been so focused on that as I was standing on the wrong end of the line waiting to place an order. That's definitely on me and an embarrassing moment, considering I didn't realize that until somebody else came in and went into the line to order some food. Fast forward a couple minutes I decided to get a burrito bowl with grilled chicken, white rice, black beans, fajita veggies, corn, pico de gallo, cilantro and a little bit of sour cream. Topped off the chicken with mango habanero sauce at my request. Food was looking delicious and I was excited considering it was 3 PM and I have not eaten since early morning andddd couple friends had raved about their burrito. I get home, open my bowl and take the first bite. I have to say I was quite disappointed, because right from the first bite, I could tell the rice was undercooked, and the chicken was very very dry. I was curious to see how the other components tasted, or try to see if I can mix in the sauces and try to get flavor. I tried some of the other components, and they had some ok flavor. However, taking a couple extra bites, I couldn't get over the fact that the rice was basically raw and undercooked, the chicken was so dry that it was inedible, and overall the whole thing lacked flavor. I know that business is new, but they have been around long enough to fix the problems or to ensure quality. The inside ambience looked nice and a mellow place to sit and have lunch. However, today I'm glad I was not sitting there or else I would've definitely returned the food immediately. I do have to say the person making my food was really very nice and polite. This review actually makes me sad because I do not like to give local businesses bad reviews although I maintain my integrity. Maybe I'll give this place another shot in a few months. I was feeling sad and nostalgic. Missing my favorite burrito place Bombers. As I was driving down Route 4 amazed by all the development around Hudson Valley Community College, I notice this little place in the plaza. I wanted a really good burrito, and Bubbakoo's exceeded my expectations. They are like Hot Harrys in which you choose what you want in your burrito or whatever you order. They have other items on the menu including something called a Chiwawa, which I will try another time. Anyway I ordered the Hibachi Steak and Shrimp burrito which included rice, beans, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and topped with General Zaos sauce. Simply delicious. I have hesitated reviewing this place until I had a chance to sample different items on the menu. I will cut to the chase and say that Chipotle and Moe's are infinitely better with both higher quality ingredients and better presentation. Beef is essentially unseasoned and tasteless. When ordering shrimp tacos, they create a damp soggy mess. The one positive thing I can say is ordering ahead is efficient and preferable. Seating is limited and has the ambiance of eating in a galvanized trash can. They try to cater to a young demographic, but virtually every other local lunch option is markedly better. read more

This is new restaurant located by HVCC and LaSalle. We tried it on a Sunday afternoon as we were nearby and it was lunchtime. The place is small on the inside. It identical to Chipotle in terms of the ordering process. The menus are posted on tv screens. The screens have photos that rotate with different menu items. The screens are located too close to the ordering line. I had to back up to fully read them and determine what to order. My wife and I both ordered the Buffalo cauliflower bowl. The bowls consisted of rice, beans, salsa and Buffalo cauliflower. The cost was $12 for the bowl. We also orders chips and guac. The food was ok. They are trying to be Chipotle but fall short. The taste and cost may work for the student population, but there are better choices out there. read more

Bubbakoo's Burritos just opened today in North Greenbush, across the street from HVCC. I arrived here at 11:05 am and the place was already mobbed and extremely busy with a line to the front door. I had already looked over the menu and options on the app, but this store was not accepting online ordering yet. They serve up made to order burritos, burrito bowls, lifestyle bowls, salads, tacos, quesadillas, chiwawas, nachos, chicken sandwiches, curly fries, desserts (love chips, fried Oreos, apple empanadas), and self serve Pepsi fountain drinks. The meat fillings they have here include chicken, hibachi steak, carnitas, and hibachi shrimp The line moved at a good pace and I started placing my order at the end of the glass counter, which is food assembly line style with several staff adding ingredients down the line to the register like at Chipotle. I ordered a Taco Salad in a fried tortilla shell bowl and I got plenty of ingredients (vs ordering online which has limits) with grilled chicken tossed in mango habanero sauce, pinto beans, brown rice, pico de Gallo, house salsa, corn salsa, fresh jalapenos, shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, and sour cream dressing. The taco salad was a good sized one and checking out they were giving a 10 percent off discount ($9.95-$1.00 plus tax). The dining area is not very big with limited booths, soft chairs, and long tables with chairs. I sat with other customers while I devoured my big taco salad. The ingredients were fresh, chicken pieces a bit chewy, and flavors on the mild spicy level as I expected. A friend of mine warned me about this place, but I decided to give them a try. They have a good system going with burrito preparation and service, but the food is just so dang dry and tasteless. It's not the worst I've had, but it manages to remove all the satisfaction of biting into a burrito. The meat barely even tastes like anything, along with the fact that it's so dry it feels like you're chewing on cotton balls. Somehow they managed to make even the rice dry (it's mostly water???). Big waste of money for me. If you do decide to eat here, make sure you ask for extra sauce and use the entire bottle of Tabasco they have at the tables. That's the only flavor you'll be getting. By the way, don't restrain yourself when it comes to spice here, their hottest sauces have about the spice intensity of ground pepper. Somehow they found a way to genetically mutate their jalapeño peppers to have no flavor or heat whatsoever. This place is usually decent. I've enjoyed the burritos in the past even when they have missed an ingredient for a customized order. Today I ordered two burritos and while one was as ordered, the other burrito lacked almost all ingredients that were ordered on the app. I ordered fajita veggies, chipotle crema, white rice, black beans, house salsa, cilantro, cheese, lettuce, and guacamole. I only got rice and veggies, and cilantro, oddly enough. There was no crema, no beans, no salsa, no guacamole, that I paid extra for. I usually don't like to complain, but this is just a lazy way of making the order. I can understand that sometimes places get hectic and they may run out of ingredients, but in that case canceling an order or offering something else would be more appropriate than making a burrito with just rice and veggies. read more

I initially wanted to put in an online order but online ordering was unavailable at the time. I called the store to see if they would take orders over the phone but they said they would not and online ordering was unavailable because of the volume of orders coming in so they were only taking orders in store. I went into the store and there's plenty of parking, some seating inside, but it seems to be more to go rather than sit down. There were a bunch of people waiting to the left of the store by the register, and some people in line. Ordering was efficient where the girl behind the counter would take the order and prep what she could. There was someone in the back that kept yelling they needed things ASAP multiple times. Another member looked overwhelmed about to cry. Not sure they are aware customers in line can hear. Two out of my three burrito orders were chicken. They ran out of chicken when I was there, but was making more so I waited since they said it would be a 5 min wait. I also ordered fried Oreos at this time. Things are portioned, multiple items in plastic cups to help with portions. They rang me out before my order was complete. While waiting, I chatted with another woman who had already been waiting for her online order for 45 minutes. She had seen plenty of people come on, order and leave before her order was complete. Another person that was waiting told the manager that they wanted to cancel their order and be refunded. The food itself is not anything special. I supposedly got the Nashville hot, but they called it out as Buffalo. I asked the one behind the counter checking people out and packaging items into the bag if it was Nashville and her response was "it's the same thing". I don't think they are as the online ordering has both Nashville hot and Buffalo. I asked if sour cream and salsa were in the box and they said "it's on the side in there". Clearly incorrect since I did not get any sour cream as seen in my photo. All together, I was there for 25 minutes. The fried Oreos were the first thing to be done, 20 minutes later, the rest of my order was complete. For how the food tasted, I would say it was not worth the wait. Maybe it'll get better once they get through the initial demand of folks wanting to try their food. read more

Went in for a quick bite. The chicken wing sauce isn't good, they don't have mild, only Buffalo for a spicy flavor. The curly fries weren't seasoned enough. The chicken chihuahua. Was basically a bowl of SHLUMP the bowl was loaded with too much cheese. The food gets messy when eating and the napkins were tiny asf. The food came out to $40. Nothing worse than paying a good amount of money for garbage ass food. I don't think the business will last long. Idk why North Greenbush won't add a chic fil a or Jack in the box or even a checkers up here. They have all of these trash ass businesses that don't bring any revenue into the city. read more

Definitely NOT what I expected. IT WAS AMAZING! Everything was fresh which was unbelievable and made to order. It was delicious and tasted so authentic, it was comparable to upscale Mexican Restaurants in our area. Great job! Also, you get SO much food for your money. Price per person: $10/$15. Also it appeared they have so many options for those with dietary restrictions or specific food preferences. I've never seen such a wide variety of customizations that were available here. We went to the Bubbakoo's Burritos across from HVCC the other night around 7:30pm and they were out of beef empanadas, so we just got grilled steak burritos. They were smaller than Chipotle, Moe's, or Bombers. Two burritos with chips and soda ran just over $30.00. It tasted okay, nothing special that would make me come back, especially for the price. I thought the brown rice was kinda soggy. The sour cream is squeezed out of a plastic ketchup bottle dispenser so you don't really taste it. I saw someone ask for guac, and the amount they give you, again out of a plastic bottle dispenser type thing, was not worth the $2.75 upcharge. (Who wants runny quac anyway?) We got fresh jalapenos and barely tasted them. Chips were okay. Hot Salsa not very hot. Seating was sparse. Not very many tables and it seemed crowded. But it's a small storefront space. I guess it's good that they at least have some kind of seating. There were a lot of people behind the counter. A lot. I don't think they've become a team yet. Some people know what they're doing. Others are just standing looking around. The person on the register didn't seem to know what they were doing ringing orders up. Very slow and at times just staring at the screen waiting for the answer to reveal itself or someone to come by and help. As we sat down we talked about coming back again, this time earlier in the day to try the empanadas and the chicken sandwiches. By the end of the meal we changed our mind. I know it just opened and there are growing pains. But nothing stood out to make us want to come back service-wise, food-wise, or cost-wise. read more

My son and I stopped by on a Saturday night to place an order to go. The staff looked very busy however there was no line (probably busy with online orders). We stood there for several minutes ready to order without anyone acknowledging us, not even an eye contact. After a while someone asked us if we had been helped and asked the staff right in front of us if she could take our order. She looked right back at her and just said "no" and sort of laughed. That really upset me and I told her how unprofessional her behavior was. We just left and I decided I will never come back. Glad we have Chipotle just a few miles away. read more
