The food was good and authentic but pretty expensive. Ambiance leaves something to be desired! Service was good but the din and lack of AC made our dining experience less than ideal. A large table with a couple of families with young kids were dining inside due to a storm that forced them inside from the patio. Unfortunately for us we couldn't hear ourselves think once they came inside let alone have a conversation. They were fine but the acoustics are terrible for other diners. First time coming here on our way back from Herkimer, New York Jose was our server and he was amazing. We saw a sign on the door that if you danced your way to your table, you got something free... So we danced! We got a free taco and a free shot! We started off with the patron tree and ordered mango, peach, raspberry, and strawberry. We opted for on the rocks versus frozen. All of them were very good not overly sweet. For apps, we got chips and homemade salsa with the diablito queso (jalapeños) We ordered the Birria tacos, and the three taco combination with Carnitas and tacos al Pastor. Have been twice or three times and had good meals and huge drinks. Service is shaky - hit or miss. Both visits, our server disappeared and left us waiting and needing things. On our second visit, we asked for napkins 3 times, and the server said sure and just never came back with them. Without any explanation our server was changed out mid meal with another, and she was much better. Immediately had our empty waters filled and asked if we were ready for another round of drinks. The contrast was adult identifiable. Food here is good and comes out fast and piping hot. Service needs some tuning and it wasn't slammed during both of my visits. They seem ti have plenty of servers and help on duty, but they all seem running around but not doing what is needed to tend to the tables/guests. I appreciate Mexican restaurants that serve their foods a little differently than what you might expect at more traditional places. Las Margaritas combines that with a beautiful interior, fun music, a colorful menu, and excellent service. We arrived on a Friday evening right after their daily happy hour was over. It was busy, and we were told we'd either have to wait a bit or that we could sit at the bar. We chose the latter - I rarely have a problem with this, because typically you get faster service. This was indeed the case. I was on a slightly restricted diet at the time, so I couldn't have alcohol, and I asked about non-alcoholic drinks. The only one I was offered was a non-alcoholic mojito. It was quite flavorful and a good deal too. But next visit, I hope to try some of the wide variety of their margaritas. One disadvantage of sitting at the bar was that we were not offered chips and salsa. I don't know whether that was an omission or policy. So we ordered a chicken nachos appetizer, which came out very quickly. It was quite simple - grilled, pulled, spiced chicken, tortilla chips, and a cheesy sauce with a nice kick. Perhaps unusual not to have other traditional toppings, but they weren't needed. Besides finishing the nachos quickly, I was dipping my fork back into the cheese sauce for more. Our meals came out equally quick. My chicken fajitas were amazing, seasoned like no others I've ever had. You only get 3 tortillas, and more than enough meat and vegetables, so I enjoyed eating some right off the serving plate (I almost forgot I had the tortillas). A side plate had rice with chopped vegetables in it, plus some refried beans served slightly differently than traditional, another plus. This was accompanied by a very small ramekin of guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and pico - not a lot, but I really didn't need more, it would have just taken away from the flavor of the chicken, onions, and peppers. My dining companion had the shrimp tacos. He said that while they were very good, he thought they would have been even better with some cole slaw and a spicier sauce. We did not order dessert, but I saw churros pass by on their way to another customer. These were also presented well. Service was excellent, everyone works as a team here, and we were checked on constantly. I'm lucky to live about the same distance away from this restaurant and their second one in Latham, and I look forward to patronizing both of them as often as I can! read more

Came here for lunch with my hubby. There's a sign on the door saying if you dance to your table, you can get a free tequila shot, taco, or scoop of ice cream. I fully committed to the bit! Asked for a tequila shot but our waiter forgot. I didn't really NEED the shot so I didn't ask a second time. There was a deal of buy 1 get one free for pina collada's. My 1st was strong and tasty! I couldn't even try to think of drinking a 2nd with lunch so I asked for it to go. The star was lost because they gave me a virgin one! I went to have my drink later in the night and was disappointed with the lack of alcohol. They give you complimentary chips and salsa. Normally I like my salsa chunky, which this one wasn't, but it had a smoky chipotle flavor which i really enjoyed. I had the birria tacos which was a large portion and delicious. My husband had the beef tamales which he always gets when we go out for Mexican and said these are the best he's had. Will definitely return! read more

The food here is great but beware of the over charges. Menu prices for tacos on Tuesday is $3 each. We were charged $3.50 each. When I brought up the pricing discrepancy to our server he would not honor the menu pricing. I'll be filling a complaint with my credit card company. read more

This place was so much fun. It was brightly colored and the music was going. The drinks were excellent, and they had an extensive variety. The food was also good with huge portions. I had the birria tacos, I could only finish one! My husband had this dish with chicken, steak, and Chorizo. The chorizo was like the chorizo we ate on our honeymoon in a resort in Cancun. Stay away! 0 stars. Waiter added 20% gratuities to the bill. When questioned why he answered "it's after midnight we add" we stated it was 10:45 not after midnight. He proceeded to then say "oh 9pm sorry". We asked where it stated this he said "I forgot to tell you when you sat down." We asked to have this removed. He returned with Jo original receipt and no refund receipt just another sign here. It is also a club type atmosphere by the bar. We were blown away by the "birthday serenade". You've got to check this out. The singing, the Mexican music AND a wooden board of tequila shots for everyone at the table. So my sister calls me and says "do you guys want to go to dinner tonight, I know a great Mexican restaurant." I had never been and it had been year since I had this cuisine. The place was busy upon arrival. She had made reservations but people were also just walking in and getting seated. There seemed to be loads of room inside and out. We sat inside. The ambience was somewhat a cross between a night club and a Mexican restaurant. Lively, good music and spacious. The service was very good by many people. One person to seat is, one to set the table, one to wait on us and one to bring the food. All were helpful and responsive to any needs we might have had. (Drinks, refills, etc.) The food was authentic and delicious. The guacamole.was freshly made and excellent. We had a few different dishes as you can see in the photos attached. The chimichangas- excellent. I had 1 meat and one chicken. The Tacos- excellent. Two of my guests had them. There weee nice sides that went with the tacos so you could build your own. It was stated that the piña coladas were also some of the very best they had had. Reasonably priced, 4 adults, appetizers, 4 meals, drinks, piña coladas. No desert. $160. Highly recommend! Don't sleep on Las Margaritas! This place is absolutely amazing. There are options for everyone in the family - kids to adults, Mexican food and a few other options for people that want something else. We got queso and guac as appetizers which were both phenomenal. It was a Saturday so the kids ordered churro pancakes which were 11/10 out of this world delicious. I noticed their sign on the outside of their restaurant while I was in their shopping center doing something else. I decided to go with my wife and give them a try. I do have to start by stating that the noise level- both inside and outside (they have outside seating) was very loud. So much so that we almost didn't go in. However, forgetting that issue, I am very glad we decided to stay. The menu is very large. It was nice to have so many options. The service was very attentive and the food arrived promptly and was extremely delicious. The portions were plentiful. Especially the taco salad that my wife was unable to even finish. I had 2 burritos and they were very well prepared. My choice was called a "combo" where a customer can choose 2 of several different items. One burrito would have been rather small so the choice of 2 items was perfect. They also have a regular variety of burritos that are very very large. We saw some folks at a nearby table digging into those. Amazing. We finished off our gluttony with an order of churros which were decadent. I am SO happy this place opened in Slingerlands. My go-to Mexican restaurant was way out in Colonie and having this close by is going to make for frequent trips. We went on a Taco Tuesday ($3 tacos) and ordered a whole host of different foods. The margaritas were large and excellent, we had the chorizo queso which so delicious. I had one of the birria tacos which is a 15/10, I mean SERIOUSLY good and the Burrito Catrina which was also fantastic. Everyone who went LOVED the food and between all of us had almost if not all of the different tacos. The restaurant is very nice in its decor, the staff is friendly attentive and the food came out incredibly fast, Nadeem was our waiter and he was tremendous. We started with reservations and asked for a table that was wheelchair accessible. First and foremost, before I get into the food review the way they accommodated my wife and our party was next level. I believe the name of the person who took care of us was "Nadime" he was so accommodating and friendly he made our night. However, that was just the beginning. The chips were warm and salsa was amazing with a hint of cilantro, so good. The drinks were plentiful. I had the sangria and it was very good with cut up oranges and cherries, they went down way too fast. The party had chimichangas, fajitas and I had the taste of Mexico , which is a little of everything. Everyone raved about the food. It was plentiful, filling, tasty nobody had any complaints everyone brought home leftovers. The price was extremely reasonable and at the end of the dinner they gave us complimentary tequila, such a nice touch. The place was packed, make sure you call ahead. The vibe was extremely positive and the staff was working hard and everything had a buzz about it. Definitely family friendly, colorful, vibrant and a happy place.
