As an immigrant with a Jamaican accent, I sometimes have to repeat myself, but customer service employees should remain patient and professional when dealing with people from different backgrounds and cultures. During the interaction, I felt disrespected and insulted. The situation escalated to the point where the police were called. The responding officers were respectful, professional, and understanding. I admit that I became upset and responded with inappropriate language after feeling provoked. The restaurant business is about serving the public, and the public consists of people from many different races, cultures, and nationalities. Every customer and delivery driver deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
