It has been a few months since my family and I rented a pontoon boat, and I still get disgusted every time I think about it. These people are CROOKS, be very cautious when renting a boat from them. In fact, I would take photos of the boat and a video before leaving the dock. My family and I rented a pontoon boat for a week. We are experienced boaters (own three boats), very respectful people, and treated the boat as if it were our own. When we went to return the boat, the girls at the marina tried to charge us for every minuscule marking, scratch, and dent on the boat that were there when we rented it. They made a huge list of items they claimed were our wrongdoing. These charges were obscene and completely unjustifiable. We have been renting pontoon boats in Eagle River for the last ten years (never before from this place), and never had such a horrific experience. When we disputed the claims with the manager , an accusatory stance was taken. They told us that they would charge our credit card and there was nothing that we could do about it. Eagle River Marine has the worst customer service ever!!!! I will never rent a boat from them again, and would not recommend them to anyone. They are awful people and this was an awful experience. We miss Heckel's!

Due to the coridviris we had been calling the folks with questions concerning extra equipment for water skiing. They made them available for us. As It came closer to make the trip we became more concerned about the virus as it might impact us in terms of our flights as well as being in Milwaukee. After much thought we canceled our trip and our rental. Josh could not have been more gracious and understanding. We will be coming to ER next year and will rent from Boat Sport.

SUPER SKETCHY! DO NOT RENT FROM! Terrible experience. Called and notified us that they would drop a…read moreday off the reserved 3-day rental due to poor weather conditions. Both parties agree to reconnect the next day to review a possible 2-day rental if weather conditions improved. He then calls the next day to ask why we didnt pick up the rental the prior day (that they cancelled), went back against his word said he would be billing for all 3 days as it was our fault for not picking up the rentals AND his "system" would not allow him to refund or change any reservations. We fully canceled the rental due to poor and shady business practices and rented somewhere else (Go to Tracksides instead). Boat Sport calls back 45 minutes later now wanting to negotiate "a new deal" and would now (again) honor a 2-day rental and not charge for Friday but we had already gone with another rental place. Next day places a charge against the credit card for thousands of dollars for a 3-day rental and full deposits. Called and they would not discuss details. Talked over us and stated everything was documented, it was their policy and he was entitled to all the money even though no services were rendered. Kept changing his story - flip flopping and didn't keep his word. SUPER SKETCHY! DO NOT RENT FROM!

Tldr: great time, go back there early spring for longer tube trip…read more I can't say enough about how great of an experience we had doing the lazy river ride down from here. The staff is amazingly accommodating and make you feel right at home. My small group of 3 had an appointment, and a longer than expected breakfast. The staff was super friendly and very easy going. The trip is an easy 2+ hour and my only though is it could be longer. The place seems to be located somewhere in the middle of the path. So it is not the type where you start off, or end up by where you are tubing, you get driven and then picked up. They have a pro shop which has basics things that you may have forgotten if it is an impromptu tube trip. We lucked out on a party cloudy Saturday with80 degrees. They also have canoeing and even paddle board yoga. The tubes have a little head rest which is nice when laying belly up. The tubes also have connectors so they can tie up nice and easily. They have 2 can holders for your beverages. As with all river trips, no glass. I would also suggest pony up for the extra cooler tube it really rounds out the experience.

Notice…read morethe difference in their Google reviews which they control, from the commentary and scores here on Yelp which they do not control. If I could give them -10 stars I would. In 46 years of being in business, and in my opinion, this is the shadiest business I have ever come across in my life. They are not trustworthy and again, in my opinion, are scam artists. Last year my brother in law and I rented 2 wave runners for the day. When we got there my "spidey- senses" were alerted when a technician was checking in an ATV returned the night before and the manager stopped and said "no, write it back up, there's a scratch on the decal of the door. $480" We video-ed the delivery of the 2 wet bikes and off we went. I have owned wave-runners since 1993. I have had 7. I know how to care for, use and repair them. Upon return the technician checked everything, got on his back and crawled under the double trailer to check the intake grates and impellers, signed off on the paper work (which we failed to photograph) ... off we went. 45 mins later I get a call. Allegedly, one of the bikes sucked up some fishing line and caused wear to the O-ring. (Impeller ring) More the $1000 of alleged damage. We had taken out the insurance, but still would have been hundreds out of pocket. We immediately drove the 20 minutes back and the "show" began. From behind the counter, Prop #1 the "fishing line" closely followed by behind the counter Prop #2, the "worn" O-ring. Most important part of the show, Prop #3, the altered paper work. We demanded and were repeatedly denied the ability to speak to the technician. Lied to about the paper work, and taken as rubes and idiots. In full disclosure things got so heated and I raised so much hell, the cops were called. When threatened by that peach of a manager I insisted they be called because I wanted the police to see the conduct of a business in their community. There was a point of comedy.. when the peachy manager told me that I could no longer rent from them ever again, I looked her straight in the face and said, "That's funny, I made the decision on the drive here!" Ultimately and appropriately they dropped the claim if I promised to allow the charges for the rental to go through on my Amex. Of course I would, as prior to the attempted coercion, we got the services we paid for. In my opinion, these are the biggest group of cheaters and charlatans I have ever encountered. BEWARE. If they are willing to delete negative reviews from Google in order to fool and LIE TO prospective customers about the caliber of their service rating what else are they cheating on?

Rented snowmobiles (sleds) from Toy Shop. The staff was excellent and informative. Our group was…read morenot first time riders, but if we were we would have felt comfortable and fully prepared by the staff with all safety and tail information. We rented full gear, (helmets, pants, jackets, boot covers) and they were all very clean and in great shape. The sleds were 2021 models and in tip top shape. Rental rates were very affordable and lowest in the area. I unfortunately had my car keys fall out of my pocket on the trail while driving to return the sleds. The staff went above and beyond trying to help the situation. They had two staff members take sleds and back track the 18-mile trail to our cabin in an attempt to locate my keys. Another staff drove our group back to our cabin to search. Truly grateful to the Toy Shop staff for all their help. Ultimately we couldn't find the keys and they drove me to Rhinelander to pick up a rental car. They let me leave my car in the parking lot for almost a week while I returned to Chicago to pick up my spare key set and fly back up to retrieve the car. Not ideal, but given the circumstance.. the Toy Shop really really helped me out. Thank you very much to the Toy Shop Staff. Got to know the owner a bit and it's a small family business, local to Eagle River. Great people with great service. Wouldn't rent from anyone else.
