I was really craving some seafood and ended up driving a little far out to Seadrift, but.... IT WAS WORTH IT. We started off with some Calamari & I can honestly say, it's the best I've ever had. I also got the half dozen Oysters, they were fresh & delicious. For my entre I got the Fried Seafood platter, everything tasted great. Our waitress was amazing. The place is clean, the people and staff are wonderful. You can tell the restaurant is a town favorite, it was busy the whole time we were there. I hope I can come back and grab a bite sometime again! read more

This is a gem, well hidden, but worth the drive. Nice clean atmosphere, really nice and helpful staff. Tvs all around showing sports. Loads of cajun dishes; the étouffée was most excellent. The fried shrimp had a light, thin, crispy batter like tempura, prepared well. Well done sides. Ask questions about preparation though: the flounder on the combo plate has a different breading then the flounder place. Recommend. read more

Bubba's is worth the drive from anywhere to Seadrift! Seriously the food is unreal! They remodeled just recently and did a great job with the place. Bubba's is definitely a place where I will take friends and family when they come to visit. Their shrimp is some of the best in Calhoun county! read more

Had the occasion to visit Bubba's while in Seadrift for Texas Water Safari training. We were super blessed to get Allison are our server and she greeted us with a warm smile and cheery personality. If you're down on the coast and don't want to venture into Port Lavaca, then this isn't a bad little spot. Arrived close to 6PM on a Saturday, so the place was pretty busy and had to take whatever table we could. Which probably left us at a disadvantage being in the corner of the restaurant. The bartender was also waiting on our table - if that gives you an inclination of how the service went. Hit and miss. Had the stuffed shrimp platter and the little one had a hamburger. Little oe liked the hamburger, but only had half. It was pretty big, but I also think he was wiped out after a day of fishing. Pretty standard frozen fries, or at least tasted that way. Tried to get steamed broccoli instead of the grilled as listed on the menu, but they wouldn't accommodate. Since they are boiling pots back in the kitchen, you'd think they could steam some broccoli as well....... The salad which came with the platter was mediocre at best. Lettuce, tomato, dressing. But you don't really come for the salad, do you? Onion rings that I got for my other side were SOLID! I'd come back for those in a heartbeat. Stuffed shrimp (4 on the platter, if I remember) were butterflied and were about half shrimp and half breading. If it was stuffed with something I couldn't tell. Since the rental is closer to PL, we'll probably just go there next time. More dining options. read more

Bubba's is the best seafood boil place in the area. Always have to make a stop while down there. Any of the boils are great or any of the other menu items we have tried are too! Highly recommend the boudin egg rolls. And don't forget the adders to the boils, definitely recommend the mushrooms. Highly recommend. read more

Quite honestly the worst food I've ever gotten there since "Bubba Hall" owned this place. Got a cheeseburger and a castaway Rubbish. Complete rubbish. Don't waste your time or money. No reason to ask what spice level you want on your shrimp. THEY HAVE NONE!! Don't serve frozen shrimp from Benny Keith when you operate in a town like Seadrift! Buy local!! Support your community. If I knew someone who used shrimp for bait, I wouldn't even give them this to use. Burger was cooked okay. Bun, soggy, lettuce looked like it was from 2 weeks ago, fries soggy. Don't tell me that it's 35-40 minutes, take my number and tell me if it gets ready you'll call. Guess y'all missed your own memo on that. Avoid this place like the plague! Rubbish Bubba's Rubbish. We're mid-way through a 10 day stay in POC, and we've already been here twice. The crawfish are VERY well done and amazing quality...very big. The boudin balls and spicy boudin are both fabulous. We usually get great seafood here, but today, they were off. The fried fish tasted like fried batter only. The fish was sliced so thin that you could not taste it. The grilled shrimp was ok but very small, like salad shrimp. Overall, it was not worth the money we paid. Only saving grace was the waitress. She had a great attitude and was very efficient & super nice. Don't think we will make the trip out to Bubbas anymore! read more

Wife and I came to this establishment for our fifth year wedding anniversary food was absolutely terrific our server Hector was absolutely spot on with service I had the Mudbug and Tails and my wife had the blue crab platter later on we enjoyed key lime pie and of course our favorite beer Corona price was a little tall but well worth it I do recommend this establishment read more

Have been to Bubbas several times. WORST service ever today! Waited almost 10 min to get someone to take our drink order... asked if we had a waitress.. everyone pointing at everyone else. A bunch of new faces / teens. No greet at the door.. very impersonal. Which is not the legacy that was being laid. Not good for business or returning business Oh and they were NOT BUSY. Will second guess about visiting again... can't imagine how long it would take to give and get our order. We left...disappointing to say the lease. Go with time to spare! Drove from Rockport to come and try out Bubba's Cajun here in Seadrift. So worth the drive started off with an appetizer Crab dip with baguette bread so delicious. Ordered Fried seafood platter came with your choice of soup or salad ordered the soup shrimp Cajun did not disappoint. Main dish was outstanding would definitely make the drive back. Excellent food at reasonable prices! Unfortunately they were out of oysters and crawfish, but that didn't stop us from having a great meal. TheBoudin sausage was my S/O favorite he ate it so fast I couldn't snap a pic :) The Stuffed Crab appetizer was amazing, We rounded out the meal with grilled fish and grilled shrimp I love that I had the choice of having my meal grilled, fried or blackened . This place is a cool dive. The service is fantastic and the staff are all very nice. The plates are generous and the beer is cold. My son had the bacon cheeseburger and onions rings. The burger was huge and the onion rings are hand battered and delicious. My other son had the half order chicken fried steak. It was tender and flavorful. My husband and I shared the Bubba's Big Catch. It was huge! They were out of blue crab so they replaced with extra shrimp...that didn't bother me at all. The Dungeness crab was so good and easy to crack and peel. We asked for medium spice level and it was perfect. My ONLY complaint is the size of the shrimp....they were very small. They have two choices for BBQ sauce, hubs got spicy, and I got regular, and I am glad cuz I'm a yellow bellied tender foot, I tasted the spicy and it IS spicy so for all of you that enjoy the heat, I think you will like their, tomato forward sauce. I usually like to dip each bite of my sausage in BBQ sauce, this particular flavor was just different, I think I will have to try it again, it wasn't typical Texas-esque smoky BBQ sauce, more like ketchup as the base and then flavors and spices added to make it their own, we did find it slightly odd that BBQ sauce doesn't automatically come with the meals, we had to ask for it, but one of the things I REALLY like about MacDaddy's layout is it's a TRUE sit down restaurant with servers vs going thru a cafeteria style line to get our food, ironically as we drove down and talked about wanting to find a BBQ spot, and in that conversation I mentioned that I'd love to find one that's not self serve, being that one of us is disabled it can add a lot of extra work for the other, we come down twice a year if possible and have been doing so for at least 10 years, and had never found a dedicated BBQ place, we have now, the food was good, the service was friendly and the vibe was casual and relaxing, we will definitely be back!

My 6-year-old daughter was served her meal last, and when she finally received her chicken nuggets, they were raw and undercooked inside. Unfortunately, she had already eaten one nugget before we discovered it. We are now monitoring her closely for possible foodborne illness, including salmonella exposure, which no parent should ever have to worry about after dining out. What made the situation worse was the way management handled it. Initially, we were only offered 50% off the bill, despite the seriousness of serving raw chicken to a child. They did not automatically remove or comp the child's meal or the replacement meal. When we expressed that we appreciated the gesture but wanted to speak with the owner about the situation, management became defensive rather than taking accountability. Eventually, we were told the entire ticket would be covered -- but only if we agreed to never come back. That response was shocking and unprofessional. At no point did we feel genuine concern, accountability, or care for our child's wellbeing. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant, but how a business responds says everything. Serving raw chicken is a serious health risk, especially to a young child, and the handling of the situation left us feeling dismissed rather than cared for. We cannot recommend this restaurant based on our experience.
