We were happy to discover a reliably kosher and Chalav Yisrael place in this area. The soup was delicious. I tried the imitation meat burger out of curiosity. My wife had a tuna platter freshly prepared by Liz. The pizza I saw another customer order looked great. He finished the whole personal pie, so it must have tasted good too. Be aware that the service is simple, e.g., food is served on disposables. This a one-woman show when we visited before Memorial Day. I can imagine it gets busy during the season. Kosher consumers should support a place like this. read more

We went to Bubbie's Bistro because we were with a large group of kosher-keeping people in Atlantic City for the holiday weekend. For a kosher restaurant, I was impressed. The staff is nice, and they have a few different tasty options. They cook all their items made-to-order. My falafel sandwich was definitely not out of a bag. It had a fresh taste to it. I recommend coming here if you are with a friend who needs to eat kosher. I would also recommend it for a vegetarian because the place is completely meatless, other than fish. read more

If I can give this horrible place a zero, I would. I eat in restaurants 5x a week and never ever ever have I been treated as the owner treated me here. Firstly, he said 30 minute wait. I waited 1 hour and 26 minutes for fries and a pie. Never came. I noticed two people who came after Me, got their order first. I simply asked him, when my order will be ready. He literally screamed in my face. I will never forget the image of his yellow crooked teeth spitting words at me. Instead of apologizing for his mistake, he yelled at me and did not expedite my order. Go down the street to wawa and buy snacks instead of supporting this rude owner. He also called the woman after me stupid because she didn't include her CC in the envelope she slipped thru the door. We all get overwhelmed...but there's a certain way to speak to people. The food was fine, once we got it. The operators of this place seriously need some help in figuring out how to serve even a moderately sized crowd on a late-summer weeknight. After waiting 20 minutes or so to sit down, we had to clean off our table ourselves (the previous folks left absolutely everything on the table). We then waited 20 more minutes for the 2 small pizzas and at least another 20 minutes (that's over an hour from when we ordered) for the fish and pasta dishes. And they don't do takeout orders over the phone. Owners, please figure out how to do this, I would not come back. read more

Great food. Since this is the only place down the shore to get great food, it gets very busy/crowded in the summer. That's to be expected. Everything they make tastes great though. And they have a lot of great options. Fake crab cakes, mock Cheese burgers, great pizza pies, and soup if it's not too hot out. The food at Bubbie's is consistently excellent. We have eaten a bunch of the sandwiches....the pizzas (they are very good but the white pizza with spinach is incredible!), I've had the fake crab cakes and the fake fried shrimp...soooo yummy! So far everything we've eaten there has been really good. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They are trying really hard to make this restaurant a success and it shows. And btw the french toast with peanut butter and banana is to die for. Tables inside and outside with umbrellas for shade. Enjoy! read more

Let me say----this is intended to be CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM...and I will also throw in some positives... Positives--- -The food has been good, whenever I have eaten it; -A good, casual dairy restaurant is just what is needed...both by the Glatt Orthodox, and by others who want Kosher food or simply good food. --The hours, ingredients, and prices are what one expects of Kosher food. Negatives-- --The owners are CLUELESS as to a business model, or running a business. Being able to cook food is NOT enough to run a restaurant. --If you want to order a small item (I went in simply for an ice cream cone---I left before finding out if they sell cones) you will have to wait a LONG time. No one is in charge, and the front counter is too small. I had to wait behind three larger orders----typically given by Space Cadet customers---who didn't know what they wanted. --I once went in to buy a SLICE of pizza----just me---and after ONLY waiting five minutes I spoke to the clerk, who told me "We don't sell slices," but tried to get me to wait 15 MORE minutes for a whole pie. YEOW----can't he realize---I am only one person, and I just want a slice. Maybe selling slices would be a good idea??? --There is NO ONE available to ask/answer a simple question---such as "what types of ice cream do you have?" "Do you sell cones and dishes of ice cream?" or "Do you sell slices of pizza?" --The menu is a JUMBLE as to items available and prices. Although they serve Pizza----they DO NOT HAVE PIZZA AVAILABLE BY THE SLICE. That would make more money for the owners, be CONVENIENT, and let people know how good is the pizza (it supposedly is good) ---the coffee arrangement is an insult. You pay the price (how much I don't know. The menu doesn't list it), and you get a paper cup, a K-Cup, a lid, and directions to the Kuerig machine---make your own! --The front counter is crowded, and once people order, they just stand around the counter. Provide a sitting area with some chairs, magazines, TV, or something to get people to MOVE away from the cluttered counter. --Sadly, while the food is probably good (the reviews are generally positive). I have WALKED OUT A FEW TIMES----I refuse to stand behind undecided morons and people with bad manners. NO ONE should have to wait 15 minutes to just ORDER a cone or dish of ice cream. If the owners could get their act together, hey could be MORE customer-friendly and make more money. Again, I want this place to succeed. read more

Let me say, me and my hubby LOVE Bubbies! The owner and his wife are super nice and very helpful when you ask them about ingredients of the menu items. I eat there at least twice a month since I live in the area. Sometimes I just gotta have it! :) I always order the same thing for me and my husband, the mock crab cake sandwiches. It is always awesome! I will probably try their veggie burgers the next time I go. The fries are natural cut which is nice. I have also ordered the falafal pita sandwich before. Its okay. The falafal balls are a bit too dense for me but is very filling and tasty. read more

People are giving bad reviews?! This place doesn't deserve anything less then 5 stars..I go out of my way to hit this old school bistro.. The food is made to order and is more fresh then you're typical bistro. They are nice and people should have respect for a place that is kosher out in Atlantic City. The tuna sub was delicious the special ingredient was the toasted baguette, it made the tuna sub taste just unbelievably good.

I was there for the first time yesterday. The food was good but not great for the money. The website calls it a "restaurant" which implies it is a full service establishment. You must come up to the counter and place your order and pay. If you order a beverage, they have you take a bottle or can from a commercial cooler. The tables and chairs are very small and flimsy and your food comes on paper plates and plastic utensils are on the tables. Someone in my party ordered soup...which came in a plastic take-out container. The waitress was friendly and pleasant, the counter person (owner?), not so much. The bottom line? If strict kosher adherence isn't your top priority, go elsewhere. Had Bubbies not been a hard-to-find kosher establishment in the area, they'd close within a month. read more

Bubbies just moved around the corner from her old location. The new location is larger and newer. We ate outside and the weather was nice. We had a felafel plate and a personal pizza and both were very good. Also the portions were generous. Overall I would say this place was very good and I'm glad to have a nice dairy kosher restaurant so close to Atlantic City. read more

Inedible...period I have been so looking forward to trying Bubbies and so today I can offer you my review. I do not pretend to be a Falafel expert, however, I can only report what I tasted and the value related to my experience. I ordered the Falafel platter. Comes with 8 balls of Falafel, 1 piece of Pita Bread cut in half, a small plastic ramekin of Hummus, a small plastic Ramekin of "Israeli salad" which translates into diced tomatoes and cucumber, a small plastic Ramekin of Tahini. That's it. For 12.95 cents, it is ridiculously expensive. Come on, we are talking about the cheapest ingredients, chick peas. I know I could have walked out before ordering, but I figure for such a high price it must be decent. WRONG! Every thing is served on Paper plates, plastic utensils...Oh oh Did I make an error to try Bubbies? The Falafel was as dense as bedrock, the Pita Bread had faint taste of card board. (Store bought, not fresh) The Israeli Salad was dried out diced Tomatoes, and dry Cucumber. How about a little oil and Vinegar to at the very least give it some moisture? The Hummus was so dry and disappointing. It so needed a splash or two of some good Olive Oil. The Tahini was ok, but the portion in the small plastic Ramekin was such that after dipping the Falafel Golf Ball into it, there was hardly any left for any other dipping. I could not eat the Hummus. Well, speaking of what I couldn't pallet, after one Golf Ball and a Half of piece of Pita, I threw the entire serving away. (I hate wasting money and especially wasting food, but this whole platter was utterly inedible) I read the other positive reviews which stated comments including Bubbies using Fresh Ingredients. Sure, it may have been fresh when made, but from my taste buds, the food tasted like it was prepared days ago and sat in their refrigerator thus the card board taste, the mealy Falafel, the dry salad, the dense Hummus. All for an incredible 12.95! Here is the kicker...They do not offer ice water. So, add another 1.50 for a tiny bottle of cold Water. I was so excited to try this place however, 15 dollars lighter I can only say this... Never again! read more

This is Atlantic City area only Kosher dairy restaurant/bistro. Offers Mediterranean and Italian food along with pizza,felafel and soft sere. I had the felafel sandwich and was among the best I ever had. Freshly prepared homemade tasting felafel,well made tahini sauce,fresh condiments and very fresh pita. Bubbies Bistro was a real find. My wife and I were very skeptical about what type of kosher we would find in Atlantic City and we were pleasantly surprised. We ate at Bubbies for Dinner and Lunch and sampled a broad variety of the menu. Although the decor is very simple and pizza shop like the food was delicious. All the food was very flavorfull and prepared fresh. Portion sizes were very large. When we went to wash for Hamotzi we got to see the kitchen which was spotless! This is a family owned and run business and you can tell that the husband and wife owners care and take great pride. Bit of advice have the donuts they are made fresh for you and you can eat them hot. Also the Eggplant sub and falafel are outstanding. read more

Food was bad. Really bad. And overpriced. We ordered a personal pizza and falafel platter. Pizza was decent, but super oily. Falafel was tasteless, zero spice or flavor. It came with a thimble full of "israeli salad" also unseasoned, and a cup of hummus and tahini that both tasted sour like they had gone bad. Overall a very poor experience especially since it was $13 for the mini pizza and $15 for the falafel plate. read more

I still shiver when I think about my experience eating here. It makes a typical "shleppy" kosher restaurant look like 5 stars compared to this. The prices are typical of NY kosher restaurants - which would be fine except for 2 things: 1) the food is disgusting, and 2) you eat on PAPER plates and PLASTIC utensils. We ordered a veggie burger and tilapia - both inedible. The restaurant is dirty, the floors are sticky. I'm just happy I didn't get food poisoning. Oh and the kicker? The guest bathroom is through the kitchen. As in guests walk in and out of the kitchen freely. Health code violation anyone? Never again. Disgusting. read more

We ordered two pies and two order of fries and could not have regretted it more. If I could give my money away instead of eating this pizza I would. One of two milchig kosher places (Aroma Bistro is the other). Good broad menu and fresh food. Nice indoor and outdoor seating options. Annoying that they won't make a large pizza, but the pizzas they do make are creative and tasty. Pricey, but I guess you expect to pay a little more near the beach. They do deliver - even to the beach! - although on the day we requested it, their delivery guy didn't show up. Fries were good, and gazpacho was delicious. Food was ready about 10 minutes after they said it would be. Service was friendly, and called us to let us know that we had accidentally left behind part of our order when we did pickup. We were visiting AC and heard Bubbie's had good food so we stopped by. Got a few pizzas, 2 pasta primavera (one with red sauce, one with garlic butter) and eggplant Parmesan. It was edible, but rather disappointing, since everything was extremely greasy. Both pastas were lacking basic seasoning (salt and pepper). Additionally it was unbearably hot in the restaurant, with a few fans that did very little to cool the place, and there were no paper towels in the bathroom. At least the staff were polite. My wife and I and a couple of our children went out to AC about a week ago.. The thing we came back talking about was Bubbies Bistro. Everything we tasted was truly delicious, the pizza, the cheese sandwiches, the pancakes and French toast, the tuna platter all tasted super fresh and like they were made from scratch. I will also say that the fries with onions and peppers were amongst the best I've ever had. The owners and employees were super nice and helpful.. I look forward to going back.
