Always nice when they thing you were thinking of getting they recommend. I split the chicken Joey with my mom and honestly it was incredible. It might have ruined chicken parm for me. The flavor was just so good. We all split a chopped salad, personally it wasn't my favorite. We also all split a diavolo pizza. If you do not like hot things do not get it. But we all enjoyed it. We really ordered a lot of food, because we wanted to sample it all. We started with the Artichoke alla Romana and beet salad. Both were flavorful ways to begin our dinner. My favorite entree was the eggplant parmesan which was super cheesy with a generous portion of eggplant. My brother enjoyed the veal which was served in a lemon caper sauce, mashed potatoes and asparagus. We tried the blush sauce with a side of gnocchi. To be fair I am not a gnocchi fan but I could tell it was fresh. The pizza was crispy and held up to the stand up test. The least favorite was the bolognese with pappardelle. The sauce lacked the flavor I usually expect from this dish. Both desserts were excellent but my favorite was the blueberry crumble cheesecake. Kudos to our server Selena, our busboy and the cook. The waitress Lisa was extremely nice helpful and professional !!!You could bring your own bottle of wine or liquor with no extra charge the chicken Parmesan was one of the largest we've ever seen. We had a pizza and it was more than we could eat freshly made bread delicious. We also had Bronzino which we shared because it was so large and mashed potatoes asparagus were delicious. Actually, there's nothing I can say negativeabout the food in this restaurant seems like it's made with a lot of caring indoor outdoor eating decor is nothing fancy. But very comfortable I'm glad we had the opportunity to enjoy this restaurant and if I was here for a long period of time, I would come back again. Hot Honey Pizza was the star of the show!! We came here this past week for a work dinner. The staff did a great job at managing and serving our large party that took up 6 large tables! We started with a charcuterie platter that was out of this world! Mozzarella, parm cheese, roasted peppers, olives, delicious! try not to fill up on their bread, it is so good! we shared the Caesar salad (yummy dressing), more mozzarella & tomato (yes!) and meatballs. the meatballs were just like my moms, homemade taste for sure! I shared the chicken parm and hot honey pizza with one other. The chicken parm was delicious but the hot honey pizza was out of this world!!!!!! The restaurant itself is small but lovely. Absolutely love the red room cafe. Hands down the best eggplant parmigiana at the shore. Homemade rigatoni with blush sauce on the side, perfect. Had a great dinner experience at the Red Room tonight. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had the polpo appetizer, which was delicious, very tender and not overwhelmed by the Mediterranean sauce. Husband had the veal chop milanése and I had the rack of lamb. Both seasoned and cooked to perfection, as the accompanying mashed potatoes. Since it was the husband's birthday, we finished up with a cherry chocolate and vanilla bomb. A little BYOB gem in Ventnor! Homemade pastas, legit pizza, and excellent quality overall. Reminiscent of my trip to Milan and Rome this past April. ~COVID-19 era review~ Red Room Café is currently offering outdoor dining on the street next to the restaurant in addition to on the sidewalk directly in front of the restaurant. We were able to make a Saturday night reservation at 8:45 PM for a party of 6 via OpenTable a few days prior. They do request a credit card to hold the reservation, FYI. We were pleased to see that the tables were covered by a tent in case there were any passing showers (there weren't). They also had live entertainment (a one-man band type of thing). We were seated shortly after 9:30 PM. Our table appeared to be ready for over 15 minutes prior to us being seated. There was no explanation for the wait. We waited a while for our ice bucket to arrive and we waited even longer for wine glasses (which we never received). We were instead given an extra set of water glasses, but glasses are glasses for our non-discerning crew. The bread for the table was flavorless and the plain olive oil did nothing to remedy the situation. The entrees on the other hand were great. Nice portion sizes and reasonable prices. Our dishes included the Colossal Crab Pasta, Shrimp Parmesan, the Bronzino, and Eggplant Parmesan. We passed on dessert given it was already 11:15 PM by the time our dishes were cleared, and we were ready to mosey on out at that point. The outdoor dining area was bustling, albeit with only a handful of tables. There were several larger parties that night (6 or more). Our server was MIA for the better part of the night. We were confused as to why everything took so long, but we cut the staff some slack because COVID-19 is a bitch and we didn't want to BE a bitch. This place is a nice option for outdoor dining at the shore. Just know that you may experience a wait and your service may be spotty. Otherwise, crack open your bottle(s) of wine and enjoy the outdoor breeze! read more

Came here on a Tuesday night with a party of five with no reservation. We sat outside since it was a beautiful evening. We ordered the Milan salad, house salad, calamari and the mussels in red sauce. All the food was delicious and the portions were plentiful. The only appetizer we didn't care for was the calamari as it was rubbery. They did give us a small basket of bread which honestly had no taste whatsoever. The put dipping oil in a small plate but with no seasonings. Not very tasteful. The service was just ok as it took a very long time for our food to arrive. The restaurant just seemed very hectic like all the staff were rushing around which made our dinner a little less enjoyable. The food is authentic, the family and staff are warm and welcoming, and the ambience is perfect for a date night. My wife and I split a salad, a Bianca pizza, and a seafood linguine. I've been to Naples, birthplace of pizza, and the pizza here is legit. Al makes a mean pie and the oven is from Naples, it looks like the ovens from Naples, and the pizza tasted like the pizza from Naples. The ONLY difference between Red Room pizza and Naples pizza was that they sliced the pie at Red Room. The seafood linguine was packed with clams, mussels, crab and shrimp, but don't forget the pasta itself. Awesome. Classy, great service, and delicious food. Incredible from start to finish. The veal chop San marzano with plum tomatoes long hots and an ENTIRE burrata on top was the best I've ever had. It put 2825, Vola etc to shame. And that's a bold statement. The linguini clams also excellent. Spicy white. The pasta is all homemade and delicious. You can taste the difference. Gnocchi was out of this world. Multiple times we had to ask someone to find him for us. The food was average. And I understand there was a staff shortage, but our meal was over three hours from start to finish. As an Italian, I can say it was fair. We visit the shore every year, with all the great food options, we won't be coming back next year. The bathrooms weren't particularly clean either. Also, service was again top notch and they make us feel so welcomed. Tonight we dined al fresco and had a special artichoke appetizer (so good that we dug right in before we thought to snap a pic), a delicious meatball salad (now that's my kind of salad), and we had an unreal eggplant Parmesan served in a round casserole type dish and we also had the delicious Fettuccini Fungi - so decadent! First the good: We ate outdoors and that was very nice (though would be nicer if they put some tablecloths on the tables). Service was reasonably good, though not great (took a couple of tries and ultimately had to go inside and request that they bring us items we wanted like grated cheese for the pasta). Very nice menu selections. Prices were very reasonable for the type of dishes. Next the bad: The food was not good. The grilled calamari appetizer was rubbery, like small slices taken out of the side of a bicycle tire. Linguine with clam sauce had a delicious sauce and the pasta was well cooked, the clams were the tiniest clam meat I've ever had in a restaurant. Little tiny knots of rubber inside the shells - really disappointing. The pasta with Bolognese sauce was a real bummer. Something was wrong about the texture - instead of having a meaty texture underneath the creamy Bolognese, it had a mushy texture. I suspect we may have just hit this on an off night, and I always like to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt. So I would encourage you to try it, though we probably would not go back. read more

What I would like to complain about and have ppl know is that this restaurant is charging a 6% Covid surcharge on top of a 4% charge for non-cash payments. This place was open during Covid restrictions and Ventnor even went so far as to block off the street so they could have an outdoor dining tent during that time. And they have the balls to still put up a Covid surcharge? I feel taken advantage of and will N E V E R go there again. read more
