I love the vibe in here. it's fun, warm, casual, really great food and efficient service going on…read more Hummus Tehina: amazing. can be shared between four people, but my family of four does two orders and everyone gets a half. if you really like hummus, I suggest you do the same. the green sauce situation in the middle is great. comes with 3 pitas, if you want more it's $3 extra per pita. Merion Park Labneh: this labneh is thicker than other restaurants which I really like actually. the photo I insert may be deceiving, as it looks chunky. rest assured, it's absolutely smooth, just a thicker consistency than most labnehs. the spices on it are so so good. I think this is a must get along with a hummus. me and my sister are vegetarian, we share a hummus and a labneh and are decently full after those. we also snack on some small plates for the table (fries and olives) and leave full. Israeli Pickles and Olives: comes with two ramekins filled with varying sized pickles, not pitted olives, and some tiny yellow peppers I *think* are either pepper-chinos or at the very least taste similar. they also come with a small ramekin for the olive pits. The yellow peppers are very spicy, but I loved them. the olives are green, and i'd consider them friendly olives for those who are particular around olives. pickles were great as expected. French Fries: easy order for the table. portion is large and I think $8 is a steal for the quantity and quality. comes with a yummy ketchup my sister loves (she is considered a ketchup hater). COCONUT MALABI: I did not know what to expect. and honestly, first bite I was a bit confused by the texture, but by the end, I really liked it. its a thick pudding consistency, smooth, has a decent bounce to it, not too sweet at all, subtle coconut flavor. has a strawberry (I think) jam situation on top with some sort of crunchy thing. will be getting that again for sure. we had three people split this and it was enough. would consider getting two for four people though. service was quick, efficient, and kind. love the atmosphere. it has a sort of lively fun vibe to it. also we were in and out pretty quick without being rushed at all which is nice. just efficient. Also, I haven't tried them yet but they have a good little mocktail menu for those who don't drink!

If you haven't been since the renovation, be prepared for an entirely new, full-service restaurant space complete with a revamped menu, including entree plates, hummus, sandwiches, and desserts. The standout of the restaurant is still the hummus with jammy egg, but dishes like the sabich are very tasty (if not a little salty) in their own right. The atmosphere is fun and trendy while still being casual, and the cocktails are a fun pairing with the food. Overall, 4.5/5.

4.5 stars rounded up…read more Though I had but a small sampling of Nom Wah's extensive dim sum offerings, I liked what I tasted: -- Stuffed Peppers ($5.95): loved the textural contrast of crispy pepper & springy shrimp paste; a shallow pool of savory brown sauce served as the base. -- Pan-Fried Chicken & Cabbage Dumplings ($5.50): crisp wrapping encase a substantial & juicy filling. -- Shrimp Rice Rolls ($5.95): wasn't the best version I've ever consumed, but I appreciated the delicate noodle wrapper. I do prefer the shrimp to be more plump & flavorful, & my favorite ones tend to have sauces other than soy to drizzle on. My trio of items was a steal at barely $20. Nom Wah is an excellent pick for quality dim sum at rock-bottom prices. I arrived early to a mostly-empty restaurant which allowed their staff to be extra attentive. The waiter described what sauces & dishes he was placing on my table, & the waitress offered to fill my water bottle before I left, as it was a 90° day. A lovely first impression!

One of the better options for dim sum in Chinatown but still pretty average. I do like that they…read morehave shrimp rolls which were good but maybe too sweet. The sticky rice in leaf had a good consistency although small with minimal ingredients. The shrimp dumplings are a staple but maybe too much flour which made the outer layer too doughy and chewy. The pork dumplings are good although smaller and tasted more like the frozen variety. Service was slow although there was only one waitress for the several tables. She did fill my water but I had to ask. And seemed to be somewhat frugal when I asked for extra napkins and only received ONE?!? She did come back later and gave me one additional napkin without being prompted. The biggest advantage for this place is it offered shrimp rolls but there are many other options available nearby.

Reservations are a good idea since it can get busy. To start, we shared a fresh goat cheese salad along with the following entrees , including short rib over polenta, mushroom pasta, grape leaves, and an octopus salad. Everything was flavorful and nicely prepared, and it was fun to try a variety of dishes. For dessert, we had the salted caramel boudino, which was a perfect way to end the meal--rich, smooth, and not overly sweet. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience with great food and a warm atmosphere. I'd happily come back and would recommend Barduzzo to anyone looking for a great meal in Philadelphia.

Here's the rundown: GRILLED HEIRLOOM CARROTS: Creamy, savory, fantastic SPRING VEGGIE SALAD*: fresh, tasty, elevated salad PAN SEARED GNOCCHI: show stopper, would order again 5 stars ROSSA (WOOD FIRED PIZZA): basic but excellent SALTED CARAMEL BUDINO: house specialty for a reason {small but really good beer selection} Service was attentive - maybe a tad too attentive but certainly well-meaning. *The only (very) slight ding, is that the waiter noted it was family style, but the portions were individual sized. We added on the salad b/c we need something else. I always thought 'family style' was larger portions shared by the table. No biggie. The room is not big a bit cozy. All table were taken but didn't feel cramped or chaotic. Overall - very glad I came to Barbuzzo and would certainly recommend.
