This is a cozy-looking place near the University of Minnesota where you can get some high-quality…read morematcha (I made mine into Kyo Matcha-style lattes). The Jingshan Yabukita matcha is REALLY good and I will be back for more next time I come to Minneapolis. Since matcha will lose some of its flavor as it oxidizes, they seal up the container after they scoop the powder in--I didn't open the container until a month after I got it and there weren't any off flavors. I can't comment on the sit-down experience since I was just there to buy the small container in the picture, but I liked the dim lighting and calming atmosphere. I also like their gift boxes that have single servings of different teas in tiny packages--it reminds me of a Godiva chocolate box.

This is an absolutely delightful tea experience…read more When you open the door, you come into the display area showing the shop's tea wares - gaiwans, tea cups, tea sets, and tea pots including some lovely Yixing pottery. When you come a little further in, you line up at the counter to order. Staff will let you smell the teas if you're having trouble deciding. After you order, you pick a table. There are tables with a sturdy little kettle built in for folks drinking gongfu style, and a few without for folks who don't need that. It's a lovely, quiet space with a big fish tank. It's worth noting that they want to keep the space quiet and ask people not to bring laptops though it's fine to read quietly on a tablet. Onto the tea. The tea selection here is frankly fantastic. Everything is well-chosen, and I had to remind myself that there isn't going to be a bad choice. I chose a Taiwanese black tea for my first experience here, the sun moon lake, though I will be back to sample their matcha, which they mill in-house. The selection covers white through pu'er and everything in between. I drank gongfu style, so they gave me a little tiny gongfu tray, a gaiwan, and enough tiny cups for everyone at the table. For people who want to try gongfu style but haven't done it before, they are happy to show you. The only downside is that all of their snacks have gluten in them. I'm hoping that this will change going forward, getting GF mochi or even mochi donuts would be perfect. Overall, this is my new favorite spot in the city, and I only wish I'd discovered it sooner. I'm going to be returning to drink my way through the menu.

There is paid parking all around this place but is typically under $5.(as of the posting of the review) We had reservations and were seating right away. Our server was Seth and he was WONDERFUL!!! Like picture the best server you could ever have, and that was Seth! Great recommendations, checked in on us throughout our time there but didn't linger, brought water right away! He was just an absolute delight! The food here was delicious!! We started with the butter board, that is a MUST! The butters were all flavorful! We only wish they had a little bit more bread! The lemongrass wings had EXCELLENT flavor, a spice that does linger (so if you don't do well with spice, there are not for you) they were a little soggy. Wish they had been crunchy! The steak bites were perfection! No notes! The chimichurri tasted so good with the char in the steak! The wild mushroom fettuccine is a must if you like homemade noodles with a fresh sauce! Comfort on a plate! Everything was so good, we decided to get the Affogodo and Chocolate moose cake! Both were terrific! The chocolate moose cake was moist and wasn't too rich, the toasted pistachios added and extra crunch that is not to be missed! The affododo was smooth, and paired so well with the vanilla ice cream! This place has a larger patio area that overlooks a brick street and Minneapolis skyline! Definitely could be a romantic spot for a date! This place was wonderful and we will happily be back!

The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a modern vibe, and they also have a really cute patio if you want to sit outside. The service was phenomenal, and everyone was so friendly. The menu was interesting, I had the Quinoa Breakfast Bowl which was very good (I love quinoa). It got very busy, there's no dropping in, get a reservation. They do have some bar/counter seating but friends advised scoring that was iffy. This was the old Dairy Queen way back in the day. It has had several iterations and Heather's is the latest and arguably the most successful. I would not have thought to go here had friends not made the reservation (it is near their home) and I guess I would not go out of the way to go here again. Don't let that stop you. Very small parking lot, 2 people wanted my space and had me boxed in.
