Like picture the best server you could ever have, and that was Seth! Great recommendations, checked in on us throughout our time there but didn't linger, brought water right away! He was just an absolute delight! The food here was delicious!! We started with the butter board, that is a MUST! The butters were all flavorful! We only wish they had a little bit more bread! The lemongrass wings had EXCELLENT flavor, a spice that does linger (so if you don't do well with spice, there are not for you) they were a little soggy. Wish they had been crunchy! The steak bites were perfection! No notes! The chimichurri tasted so good with the char in the steak! The wild mushroom fettuccine is a must if you like homemade noodles with a fresh sauce! Comfort on a plate! Everything was so good, we decided to get the Affogodo and Chocolate moose cake! Both were terrific! This is a beautiful spot in Minneapolis and it is huge! Lovely patio and great service. The food is fine and overpriced. The cubano was good, the shrimp mofongo was great, the burrata lacked flavor and the balsamic and strawberries didn't work well, the jicama slaw had too many onions, the smash burgers bacon jam was really sweet, the broccolini was very good but there was too little of it, the side salad-probably one of the best things on the menu-the dressing is excellent and had tons of really good flavor. Lovely restaurant with amazing views of the river, bridge, and city skyline in the heart of St Anthony Main. We sat at the beautiful bar on Easter afternoon for some lovely cocktails. I went with the Mexico City cocktail that has a smoky yet fruity taste to it alongside a black salt rim. Delish. Then I had a mini gin martini which was the perfect size to try it out (on the happy hr menu). We'll be definitely back in the future to dine in. I'm going to be honest, I did not expect much from this place. I've eaten off this strip by Stonearch Bridge before and usually I find the area gimmicky with overpriced bar food. It was a beautiful 70 degree Wednesday in the spring so I HAD to find a patio to soak it up before second winter. We tried another spot nearby that didn't have their patio open yet, so we made our way here to see if we could get lucky. We were put on the waitlist, and walked across the street to take in the view. About 20 minutes later, I received a text that our table was ready. We must've gotten there just in time because they started turning people away or telling them there was over an hour wait. They were understaffed that day. We placed our drink orders, an Amber Beer and the Mexico City Cocktail. Before the drinks arrived, the waiter came over with two sangrias and said, "I know you didn't order these, but do you want them anyway?" I said absolutely they won't go to waste! The sangrias were light and refreshing, and the Mexico City cocktail was extremely balanced and delicious - not overly sweet with a yummy black salt rim. For our mains, we decided on the Wild Mushroom Fettuccine and the Cubano. I am not joking when I say we both said OMG after our first bite at the same time! Both of these dishes were packed with flavor. This might be one of the top two Cubans I've ever had. Highly seasoned. As for the fettuccine, it was extremely umami and my partner finished it in under 10 minutes. As much as I love the beautiful landscape and the stunning charm of St. Anthony Main, I can't quite say the same about the food experience. As a Vietnamese, I was surprised, and initially delighted, to see pho on the menu. That joy quickly faded when I saw the price: $21. I could internally feel my ancestors rolling in their graves. So naturally, I frugally opted for the Cubano instead. But first, we had to try the apps. However, the Brussels sprouts for the appetizers didn't live up to its steep price. I believe that roasted/baked Brussels sprouts should primarily be crispy, as their caramelized crunch is widely considered the superior texture, but unfortunately came all sauced up, mushy and soggy. The sandwich was solid: the meat was tender and a bit dry, but the cheese and other components worked well together. But the real star? The fries. I didn't have a reservation and that relegated me to bar seating, but they have a huge, full-service bar that is well staffed with lively personnel, so I can't complain at all. Food was pretty good. I had a Cubano that I liked a lot, it was big and flavorful. I also tried an appetizer of Crispy Garbanzo Beans, which are very light. Like, as in they weigh very little. I'd recommend doing something to spice those up. If a bottle of Sriracha were handy I'd have added a few dashes. Prices were mid-to-high for food. Wow what a great space! I loved the open floor plan and the bar gave off tiki vibes. The huge windows are also great since St. Anthony main is a beautiful backdrop. I tried the Tokyo, which strangely had a piece of spinach in it instead of basil (maybe they ran out? lol), but it used the right amount of sesame which could have easily been overwhelming. The food was great, I wish I had been able to try more but I'm currently not eating meat. The brussel sprouts were my favorite, and the shrimp was also very good. I wasn't a fan of the cauliflower though - it seems like they mixed together Indian and Thai curry flavors in one dish which I didn't think worked very well. Service was good but it took a very long time for our food to come out, despite the place not being very busy. I know they've just opened though so there might just be some growing pains. Came to Cabana Club for a friend's birthday brunch, the atmosphere is very tropical and the patio was lovely. I came in with a group of eight and we had a reservation about a month in advance. We had not been seeing very much content about their brunch on Yelp or online so we wanted to come in and check it out for my friend's birthday. Out of the eight, six of us ordered the Arepa Benedict. The Benedict was fantastic and truly was a wonderful representation of the Cabana Club brunch, this was very hearty, and the arepa added a nice element to the dish. The chipotle hollandaise was the perfect touch with the shredded pork. The side breakfast potatoes were fantastic, very well done and crispy with a nice seasoning, I usually don't eat the breakfast potatoes but these were exceptional. I also had a honey lavender latte, it came in acute glass and was perfect perfectly Instagram worthy. The food and aesthetic of the restaurant in general was very tropical. This is a 4 out of 5 star review mostly because everything was perfect until we decided to bring out the birthday cake. We mistakenly forgot to bring a serving knife to cut the cake and the restaurant server refused to give us one for some reason, stating something to the effect of it being a Minneapolis health violation of some sort. At other well-known high-end restaurants that I have been to in Minneapolis they have not only allowed for people to bring their birthday cakes for large party reservations but also accommodated by cutting the cake in the kitchen and providing individual servings. That's above and beyond birthday reservation accommodations, but clearly this restaurant is not as elevated as they claim on their website. Definitely noted for future birthdays if you choose to attend this establishment, they do not accommodate people bringing cakes for birthday parties. While the restaurant did give a complementary piece of chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream and a candle, we were all left annoyed that the amazing cake that was brought specifically for my friend's birthday was left unattended to melt in the sun. read more
