I've been seeing Jessica, a senior stylist, at Bubbles for 6 years, and she is truly the most amazing stylist I've ever met. I have very hard-to-manage hair, so I've been getting weekly blowouts for as long as I can remember. Over the years, whenever I've had to go to another stylist at a different salon for a special occasion, no one has ever come close to matching Jessica's talent. With Jess, you not only get an incredibly talented stylist, but also someone who genuinely listens to what you want. She's even done a few updos for some special events I attended, and each time she created exactly what I envisioned. She's so invested in her craft and always learning new techniques, which is why even after 6 years, I continue to be amazed by her work. I actually live in the city, but I still travel out to see her every week because I haven't found anyone else who compares. Love that you can make an appointment online and you get a text reminding you of the appointment. It's just so much easier to not have to call. I will preface with that I'm not a regular and I'm not local to the area, the event I was going to was. You walk in, the place clean and nice, and you're immediately asked if you would like something drink. Every person that worked there was nicer than the next. What happened... This place with the previous owner used to be very affordable for a simple hair wash, blowout with a wand or a simple hair twist/braid. I have gone back 3 times since under new ownership to be charged prices that were ridiculous. Walking out almost $85.00 dollars later (with tip) has become not so maintenance friendly for going to get simple hair styles. Has greed taken over? Because I am sorry there is no crazy inflation upcharge that should have taken place for shampoo, a hair dryer and a curling wand. The interior so far is the same, no champagne is even offered anymore (that's fine, I didn't need that) and 2 out of the 3 times I was not happy with the girl doing my hair. I tried to be. I even explained what I was wanting, they didn't seem to understand or maybe that simply just couldn't do that for me. Very disheartening because I do like the location and the place before they started to charge what they do in salons that actually color and or cut your hair. I hope the new owner does the right thing in the future for customers and charges reasonable prices for what you GET. I have since found a new place that does just that. read more

I spontaneously booked an appointment when I was in town for my friend's engagement party. Needed a pin straight blow out to last overnight into the morning. Jessica was fabulous! She asked me about my event and the plan to ensure my hair would look equally as great the next morning as it did the night she did it. I was in the market for a Keratin treatment (COVID19 had other plans for me), so the second salons started opening up I was on the hunt... Not only was I looking for a salon with good reviews, but I was looking for a convenient one with the right price. My parents live in East Northport so I figured I would search the area to see what salons are out there while visiting. The salon closest to my apartment in Bayside charges upwards of $350 for a Kertain treatment, which I ALMOST was willing to pay until I stumbled upon Bubbles website. Ive driven by the salon a bunch of times while in the area but never gave it a whirl until now. A usual Keratin treatment is $250 (according to the receptionist who I think is the owner), but I guess post COVID they temporarily knocked the price to $200... so I thought that was a steal for what I got. Jessica did a really great job, I was SUPER happy with how it came out. My only real complaint is that she did not tell me much about the do's and dont's about having a Keratin such as the proper shampoo/conditioning, post-treatment steps, etc... I had to ask the questions, but also the receptionist/owner came over to me to tell me everything I needed to know. Thankfully I knew what to do since my mom has been getting Keratins for awhile, but if this were my first time with the Keratin treatment, I may have not known some things! That was my only real issue, otherwise everything else was flawless and exceptional. The salon itself is also so beautifully decorated, and I got a lovely mimosa. I absolutely will be coming back here for blowouts, and a future Keratin treatment. Another thing to note is that the Keratin process is ~2 hours (website didnt say)! read more

Sure its great that they offer you water or Champaign, the place is clean, and they use some phosphate free shampoo, HOWEVER if you care what your hair will turn out like then DONT GO THERE. The blow out was horrible! I told the girl I did not want a flat blowout. Even when she started doing my hair I stopped her and reminded her I did not want it flat. She made it beyond flat with no body or volume. She took 60 minutes to do a simple blowout (my hair is not long or thick). You could tell she had no real experience blowdrying hair and even kept getting my hair stuck in the round brush. There were no signs showing the employees had licenses to do hair. Might as well go to a professional hair salon and get a style from an experienced hair stylist for the same price. Pretty much all they know how to do is a bad blowout or curls which could be done on your own with the same curling ion. I was watching the other two employees and can tell they had no real hair experience either. Don't let the appearance of the salon trick you! read more

I had been going to bubbles for years but the last few times have been terrible . Twice my daughter left with damp hair . This last time they changed the stylist on me with out asking or even acknowledging it . I specifically made appointment with one stylist who I know can handle my daughters hair and when she went she was giving another stylist. I tried to call but owners daughter who changed the appointment said her mom was out of town . She couldn't do anything. Finally received a texted from Julia the owner telling me to call her in a few days be cause she was over seas . First of all you call the customer to find out the situation and why leave your daughter in charge if she isn't able to deal with any problems. When I first spoke to Julia she offered me an $8 credit for future blowout . Again stating she wasn't there . So because you went on vacation why is that my issue. Booked an appointment online for a blowout for my engagement party in July. I was promptly greeted when I entered and everyone was so nice! Super clean place and they have tv's with cable playing I think HGTV when I was there (so perfect ). I was offered a complimentary champagne, so I obviously celebrated! Because it was my first time, I received a discount on the service. I thought this place was decently priced and it is in a great location (especially if you're getting married at Larkfield and need a place to get hair done!). I've given this place a few chances, and after today I'm done. The woman that did my hair couldn't make it any more clear that she wanted nothing to do with me. I'm not really sure why--don't you want to be nice to your client since, you know, you're performing a SERVICE and you would get a good tip? She burned my scalp several times during the blowout, and when I remarked on it she shrugged her shoulders and proceeded on. No apology. I actually had to apologize to HER since making any basic request of this woman was just too much. As far as the blowout, it was horrible. My hair texture and type takes well to pin-set curls and can maintain volume. What ever she did fell out prior to me even leaving the salon. The woman at the front desk definitely didn't care, regardless of how unhappy I looked. This isn't the first time that I've had a bad service here, but it will surely be the last. My advice is to avoid this establishment like the plague. Go to Aire in Huntington and see Jackie. That's where I would've been if she wasn't booked solid. Went here for a wash and blowout last saturday. It was a great experience, loved the service and the hair! They definitely book up for the weekend but was able to get an early appointment. The staff was all very nice, and I felt completely pampered from when I walked in to when I left. Love the fact that they give you a discount if its your first time there. Two stars because the receptionist was very warm and friendly. I booked online and chose Anasia. I have never been here before and have read good things about Bubbles. When i arrived I waited a little bit for Anasia to greet me. She led me to the shampoo bowl and asked what i wanted done. I asked if she knew how to braid and she immediately responded in a rude tone by saying: "You're booked for a blow out and curls." I replied: "Yes I know but i was thinking of a little side braid tucked behind my ear with curls. I have a picture since it's hard to explain." She was not feeling that at all and said "Well you're booked for a blowout and curls..." Within minutes of walking in and meeting with my stylist I had already felt shut down. This has never EVER happened to me in a salon setting before. She continued my blowout and robotically asked me questions that really had nothing to do with my hair. She never asked to see a picture and i felt a sense of intimidation by her. Ultimately i ended up do my style myself when i got home but that's not how this experience should have unfolded. I remember feeling secretly jealous of the clients on each side of me because their stylists were so sweet and personable with them. Gonna stick with my original blowout spot in Huntington. They just do hair for occasions, and extensions- no hair cuts etc...we came to get our hair done for an awards banquet two hours after our appointments. My daughter had her hair curled, her friend just blown out straight. That was 35 and 25. One had her hair shampooed. I went last- asked for something simple and elegant- and specified not like my wedding with a million Bobby pins, maybe a braid. Next thing you know I have a million Bobby pins- she claimed she couldn't do anything else....baloney lady! Whatever the natural hair spray was did not work. I love this place for a quick and bouncy, long lasting blowout. Really every stylist is great at getting my thick curls super straight but I do love Jessica T. The salon owner is super vibrant and pleasant. They also offer delicious coffee, tea or champagne as you get your hair done making the experience so indulgent. I had an early morning function to attend, so I decided to schedule the first available appointment for a blow out at Bubbles. I showed up to my appointment 10 minutes early, two other patrons were already getting their hair blown out. 15 minutes went by; the owner told me the girl who was supposed to blow out my hair was running late. Another 15 minutes went by, the owner told me she "couldn't find my stylist" and suggested I either "wait or go home and do it myself"(?!). I would've went home at that instant, if I hadn't already done my makeup for the event I was attending. I decided to wait. After waiting for 45 minutes, another stylist began blow drying my hair. She was very nice; she apologized- but rushed through my blow out. Then, the girl who was supposed to do my hair showed up. She walked around the salon with a puss on her face; no apology/no remorse. I did hear her say "I'm hungover," to one of the other stylists. The girl who blew my hair out told me this wasn't the first time something like this has happened at Bubbles- it is so unprofessional. Not only was I extremely late for my function, my hair did not look nice. The owner apologized; however, still charged me full price.
