I just wanted to update this review as I haven't been a customer in over a year and wanted to share…read morewhy. Overall I was very happy with the work that was done on my hair and the care that was taken to make sure my hair was healthy. With that said there is nothing that justifies the cost of getting your hair done here especially since they triple book you and often leave your hair in the hands of their "assistants"- who are also stretched thin and mostly inexperienced. I get wanting to maximize profit. I have a business myself! So I get it. But imagine my surprise when i book a highlight at 11 and someone else books a highlight at 12 and now my colorist is leaving me to do both. On top of that i think it's generally wrong to not blow out your client who has just gotten color treatment because color looks different wet versus dry. I wasn't informed to book a blow out on top of my color services I was just rushed out of the chair with wet hair day of, which was odd. Additionally, someone who formerly worked on my hair here came into MY workplace for a service and then complained to my boss instead of letting me know directly that there was an issue. I would never do anything like that to anyone, but apparently this is the culture at this salon or what this individual decided was appropriate. Again, I was happy with how my hair came out here. They brought my hair back to normal after it was ruined by another salon, but I don't think I'll be back. Onward!

On a recent visit I had an issue and within minutes I received a message from the owner. If that's not top quality I don't know what is. After they did my hair it was bright orange/yellow, my hair got insanely thin, and i asked them to do a TRIM and they chopped off half my hair. I was genuinely so insecure after them. They still charged me $250 and i can't even believe they let me walk out looking that way. I called them and told them how horrible of a job they did and they said to come in and they would fix it. They made it EVEN WORSE. They're a horrible place do not go here save your money and go somewhere else.

The last two appointments I let Layla know that I do not want my hair short, I am growing it out. She cut it too short anyway and left my hair looking like a poofy messy bob. Also, the last glaze she put into my hair came out too dark. Each appointment Layla was busy and hurrying to fit in other clients during my appointment time and also during my last appointment had other distractions as well. I don't feel she paid attention or took into consideration what I had said. I was really disappointed in the lack of focus, clients should be treated better. When I got home I immediately cancelled any future appointments. Time to find another salon. Pros - Friendly, fair price Additional Cons - lack of flexibility/availability of appointments, Poor job of shampoo at the sink, most times I would go home to wash my hair again to get the color out, also the chairs and sinks at the shampoo area don't seem to match up and are really uncomfortable and there is only one shampoo girl for the salon

My blow out had great volume but I have those little post pregnancy hairs that needed a flat iron run through them. They didn't last too long but it could be our hair type or humidity. I was not impressed with my make up. Or I should Say the cost is not worth what you get. I just didn't think the make up artist did anything special although I was looking for a day time look. I can do my own make up but felt like really looking polished for my event. I guess I was expecting an all out glam like when I go to the MAC counters. I had to ask about my eyebrows, no contouring was done, and no concealer. I looked pretty dry. I also thought for 20 minutes on my face it was not worth the $50.00. There was not much of a selection of make up so not sure how the artist can get that creative. I would say make up job is ok but not worth the price.

The owners of the shop actjally have around the same hair texture as me which is one of the reasons I trusted to come here. Tina Marie did my hair. Shes a sweetheart and takes her time. She knew I was nervous. I had a pretty messed up experience at Ulta one time with someone who didn't know how to do my hair. I also had family holiday photos to be taken later in the day. I'm super used to going to get a Dominican blow out but Blow Chic has now upped the game for me. I got the classic blow out with the famous curls and let me tell you, Tina did that! I'll insert a pic. I will be coming back to show support for this shop. The owners are super sweet by the way and hilarious girls. Love them. Thank you to Satin and Lace for opening this shop in our hometown and thank you to Tina for taming my lion's mane and making me look great!

My grey hair has been increasing and with that, wiry extra frizzy and resistant patches of hair have emerged. I've always been prone to frizz but these are next level. I've all but gave up, when my best friend told me about an amazing salon she went to dedicated to curly hair! She knew I've been having a hard time resisting the hair straightener an was excited for me to have this experience and treated me to my first curly cut! My appointment was with Nicole. She took care to answer my questions and also let me know what she was doing as she worked, so that I could follow the same steps at home. She took time to explain each product as well and paid special attention to my grey hair which is one of my biggest challenges now. There was a different girl who shampooed my hair and she was great as well, she also explained what she was doing and using. You can sometimes feel very vulnerable at a salon but both of them put me at ease and were so complimentary, I truly felt pampered and confident. At the end of my service she had all the products used lined up and there was no pressure at all to buy. Everything she used was also written on a paper that sums up the step by step process for my hair. I love that I had a take home to reference for my first wash day and also for any products I did not get at that time. The salon itself is super cute and girly, they even have a Photo Booth-type of set up with ring lights and a cute backdrop so you can really get the perfect insta-worthy photo! I will definitely be back.
